It's happening boys, Cruisers with dive bomber consumables

Just spotted a supertester in my last game, testing an IJN cruiser …

 

… and then he sent his little friends across the map to harass the enemy DD in B cap …

 

Look at the minimap, where the ship is and where his bombers are. Yeah, the DD in B didn't survied for very long.

Just what the game needs in its current state, amirite?!

That is either at least the third test phase or second testing phase runs a bit longer...

And unfortunately, that is not just a consumable, but player controlled.

I really hope they change the spotting mechanics for these (i.e they don't spot for rest of team) but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Seems like the ship is uncontrolled when the squadron is up, so if spotted and in range, death occurs quite quickly, but I'm sure they'll add a little to the general toxicity of anything that flies.

Well, after the cv rework, other crap and commander skill rework my motivation is pretty low and i don't play very much, hence this was the first time i saw one in the wild.

It is funny how they cant implement regular CV into game with out braking game or cv but thery are working on hybrids cos what can go wrong with this idea.

But Tone also gets a heal as a tier8 cruiser! Too much consumables in my opinion.

On the up-side, I'm entirely hopeless with both CVs and cruisers, so I doubt I'll do too much damage myself. Competent players on the other hand...

 

(I think I saw a test Tone in battle a week or two ago; I recall that I knew the player, so their doing well in her wasn't that surprising.)

So a DD player can basically face up to six carriers in a game, is this how these boats work? You are basically a CV early game, 6v1 the DDs with planes?

This still need to be considered and determined, how Tones and Ises will be considered for MM as both being Hybrid ships.

They are still being tested and no final date of their release for public was announced.

Who knows with WG, it depends how testing goes to what happens with these ships they could disappear into the mists of time like HMS Habakkuk and Kitakami have done. However considering the nothing but pessimistic comments (putting it mildly) appearing here on the forum every time these ships appear in testing I think they are very likely to be released.
