Some ships can't be sold.

Apparently, the Moskva as well other unnamed ships can't be sold. It would be useful if we knew which ships can't be sold so we knew before purchase. When I asked Player support I was told:

Dear Todger_Fairmile,

Thanks for contacting Wargaming Support.

Not all ships from the Armory can be sold, Moskva is one of them. Probably in the future it will be changed, but we can't guarantee that it will happen.

Coal, Steel, Free XP, Research Points ships cannot be sold.

Basicly all premiums/special ships bought with non-premium ingame currency.

I have sold half a dozen Yubaris and a lot of other coal ships. This limitation does apply only to T X ships, I guess.

why would you buy a ship to sell it?

If you have coal but lack credits... :Smile_trollface:

It also applies to the Nelson.

The limitation is probably that these ship could be never bought for money.

Didn't buy it. It was originally a tree ship, and when the Russian line split it, along with the Kirov became premium ships.

Why sell a tier 10 free premium ship?

It's sitting there looking Thunderer-ish, and I wish it wouldn't. I *hate* that ship and would love to sell it.

So, you buy it for coal and sell it for 50% of its coal price. Credits galore

Here's a better idea: Sell some of those camos you might have and never use, while individually not worth much they quickly add up.

Then you use your coal to buy a premium ship, and farm the credits you need. This method not only grants you credits now but also in the future when you have no coal available.

I asked why I could not sell it and got an answer.

Some ships have no value in credits, therefore, it is impossible to sell them. But if you do not want to own such a ship, we can delete this ship from account without any compensation and without the possibility of its restoration.

If you are interested in this offer, let us know about it.

Mind you I do believe I Paid over 200,000 xp and several million credits before the line split. But now as a premium ship it's worthless. Interesting. If I'd known it would be worthless I never would have got it in the first place.

Just keep it for snowflake and supercontainer farm. Nice to know that even in the middle of a pandemic people will find non-issues to be speshul about, though. The inability to sell them is literally WG’s equivalent of the “do not eat this” warning label on a tube of superglue. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised people want it removed.

Selling ships is the worst possible thing you can do to get credits (it tends to cost you in the long run). Selling premiums is really not recommended at all. Just grind the credits, it’s really not that hard.

Thats why you were able to sell back-then silver Moskva before it turned into a premium ship and got a free premium-Moskva in port after the patch...

And the value in credit is actually Zero, that goes for all premium. The free-XP premiums sell for 1 credit because you actually spend 1 credit when you buy them.

You get the idea Todger?  You're wrong for thinking what you think, and you're wrong for wanting what you want.  edited*

Standard forum response in other words.  Anything else we can help you with heap scorn on you for?

This requires time which I do not want to spend. I also sell signals for credits instead of using them to farm credits. The game is so unfun atm that I rather sell than grind.

I could use the credits to buy something else.

Credits is the easiest to farm in this game. Other than that you should keep every premium ship you can get your hands on, because what you have in port can not appear in a SC or other event crate. Imagine how much it would suck if you sell a premium ship, then get a Supercontainer and a very rare ship drop and the exactly same ship pops out. The more premiums you have the better the chance to get a really good one from a SC or event crate.

He actually wants credits for something he never purchased in the first place. As he said, he didnt buy Moskva, but he had it researched. If you had it researched, you got it for free when WG moved it into the armory as a premium ship.

So he got a ship for free, and now you think he deserves to get Credits for it? Credits, he didnt use in the first place? Why stop there? Why shouldnt WG give us just everything for free?

I would sell it for 10% and still be happy, because I don't need coal, so every credit is a net win.
