Sick of being blown out of water by invisible ships every time I play. Seriously every single game.  To cure the frustration I deleted the game for good, I feel better already I will never have to witness/watch blatant cheating.

Cheat free this could be a good game... it's a total waste of my time.

You just lack the understanding of the game mechanics. Or something is seriously wrong with your computer. There is no cheating as your describe. There simply isnt.

Ah well, you should have come earlier to the forum, asking why things happen the way they do to you.

PS Same happen over xmas on another PC all I wanted was a clean fight not being bashed by invisible and dissappearing ships who I have followed after being sunk and watched it with my own eyes.  I guess they could be Ghost Ships?

Since I am in a..charitable mood I am going to explain this to you.

 

As a DD main yourself you should have noticed something in your score sheets called "assistance damage", no?

 

That's almost certainly what you were the victim of here, you had someone spotting you that had a better stealth than you, and someone else took the shot.

 

It's not cheating, it's perfectly valid under the game rules. As is following your shells to their launch point if you're sitting still in smoke and throwing some shells AT said launch point, or torpedoes.

 

Also, final words of wisdom: Fair fights are for fools.

"Fair fights are for fools" I'll remember that.  You carry on being Unfair ( I am assuming with that attitude ).  Yes I was blow out by another ship (battleship in fact) the ghostship had done the main damage.

You have been out at sea for too long it's affected your sense of reality .

The point of this game is doing more damage than you receive, there's many ways to shoot someone while they can't see you to shoot back, the people shooting you aren't ghost ship hackers, they are people who took the time to learn game mechanics when you didn't.

All I am going to say that this whole discussion is rich coming from a player who not only has 779 of his 857 games played in Destroyers, the stealthiest class in the game, but also happens to have all those games in IJN torpboats, the stealthiest LINE in the game.

Why did you play 900 games before maybe asking more experienced players: "Hey guys, what is happening? I am getting blown out of the water by ships I cant see. What am I doing wrong?" 

But that would take some self reflection and -criticism and something tells me OP lacks in that department.

6K average damage in them too, that's landing one torpedo every 3 games. Not too shabby

Show us the replay and we can tell you then. I half suspect now that you're sitting in smoke, with no one else in yr team spotting and then got radared and blapped, which would be quite hiliarious.

 

Also do you not understand the game's spotting mechanic?

Not understanding how the spotting mechanics work does not mean there’s cheating, which isn’t even possible in the sense you’re proposing.

 

Enemy ships are visible if they are spotted by yourself, someone else on your team including but not limited to friendly planes, or spotted by radar or hydro.

 

Ships can go invisible if they move out of spotting range of all enemy ships, break line of sight by using islands or smoke, or move out of radar / hydro range (or they just expire).

 

Ships can still shoot you while staying invisible if they are behind an obstacle or in smoke far enough from the nearest enemy so gun bloom in smoke doesn’t get them spotted. In this case they need someone else to spot (or use radar / spotter plane themselves), some more experienced players can sometimes blind fire effectively by using your last known position and direction from the map and guess where you went after you went dark.

 

None of this is cheating.

<sigh> Okay, I'll bite - against my better judgement.

 

There are no invisible ships, and (as far as I can tell) very little cheating; what there *is* (or rather *are*) are vision mechanics that require a small amount of thought and understanding to cope with. I suspect the OP may be a lost cause (or - more likely - just trolling), but in case anyone happens by who does want to understand a fundamental part of the game, this bit of the wiki may be of help: https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Detection

 

Fail to understand how vision works in the game (*especially* if you're a DD driver), and you'll receive a tonking; make the effort and you'll do significantly better...

The moment you explain and/or show other people here what exactly you were seeing, people will tell you what to get and how to get it and -whatever it may be- it's going to be something you can earn ingame. Either by unlocking the ship that's doing whatever it is you're seeing or by learning how these people are doing what they're doing.

There's many tricks to shoot unseen, for example, vision of a ship is determined by the middle of the ship, you can peek your nose around a corner and shoot people without being seen as long as the middle of your ship is still behind the corner. It could be that, it could be a ship with floaty shells hiding behind a small rock, there's a plethora of ways to be a "ghost ship"

If you stop being a jerk about it people will explain how to do what you're seeing

If you're playing japanese destroyers and you're smoked up, it could be a German destroyer that approached you, he used hydro and his own smoke, this allows him to see you, spot you for everyone on his team and "become invisible" while shooting you.

 

Good players also tend to do drive-by shootings, they will point their guns at you, sail out from behind a rock, shoot you and sail right back behind the next rock, making him go undetected a second after shooting you, if you're fighting a good player near a rock formation, he can "become invisible" multiple times without even using any skills or consumables.

 

I can go on but there's a dozen ways to kill you without being seen.
