They want them to be played as "small" cruisers and the torpedoes should be only Final Solutions I guess.

The torps of all other Cruiser's of the tier have LONGER range, so that makes no sense really.

This is impressive by WG: they've actually managed to make a new DD line that I'm not excited about in the slightest. That's really quite hard to do...

Even the KM ones? :Smile-_tongue:

I think WG realized they made a mistake in making good KM ships (the carrier), probably accidentally, and are now making sure the new KM destroyer will have 30% winrate

I suppose their DPM and the fact that they do not have citadels require them to have these torps.

TBH I can understand it as these are closer being cruisers than destroyers. The only reason they are called DDs is the fact that they do not have citadels for survivability reasons.

They are basically like the russian gunboat destroyers but they are bigger and heavier. So where the russians would trust on their speed and handling these things will put trust in their hull and HP.

The concept itself is interesting and I think they are better than the incoming Pasta BBs which did not need the SAP nor smoke...

And these are just speculations on my side as I am not aware of their actual gameplay now.

Started playing Katori again, after ignoring her for two years.

Emden and Tachibana are really fun too, even with 6pts-captain (and immune to CV).

What, there are new paper-ships at high tiers?

Oh, their stats are bad?

Well... :cap_tea:

Let´s see... ah, I also have a Diana in the port.

It's just a small torpedo nerf to ships that are really about the guns.

They have extraordinarily accurate guns and strong AP. Small, mobile snipers that have some extra survivability due to not having a citadel. What's not to like?

No concealment, no hydro, no DPM, no smoke, no speed, no torps.
Ok so like, what do they get?

You may be right; I'll be delighted to be proven wrong!

I tend to prefer DDs that are good at doing the traditional DD jobs like capping, spotting, and engaging in mortal combat with other DDs; these new KM things are sounding a bit like an alternative take on the French/Khaba lines i.e. small cruisers.  I don't really gel with that playstyle (outside of Coop), hence my tendency towards pessimism...

ontopic: And I am not surprised at all, those are DDs and German ones on top of that.

Them being sh*t was essentially given, and all testing has to figure out is, how sh*tty on the sh*tscale they gonna end up.

I doubt these lived long enough to reach the back of the enemy spawn.

Well they were suppose to be a threat to cruisers, but you don't see many of them around anymore. So are they a threat to anyone?

German flag, which means +100% to wehraboo, thus some people will spend resources on them simply because German:cap_tea:

And I guess they get guns and no citadel. So there's that.

A big slow destroyer designed to open water gunboat cruisers at 11km, sounds like suicide to me. Ill wait and see of course but this line looks terribad

Especially when the armament to achieve that is AP shells.
What cruiser in his right mind would sit there flat broadside for half a minute or more, and eat all those shells until he finally blows up?

Pretty much yeah, cruiser just angles against these things and returns fire with what appears to be 150% more HP and 300% more DPM. The only thing I can see these Germans lolibotes achieving is sneak up on light cruiser broadsides the same way the french and -to a lesser extent- the russians can.

And planes, oh god what are planes going to do to these poor things, they can't smoke like the brits, they can't run like the french, they can't kill the planes like the swedes. Just sit there and die I guess

Ill be happy if these DDs are actually any good, I love DDs, but on paper they look more underwhelming than the 40s reload 17kt american pigs recently released.
