Odin availability

I missed my chance to get Odin but looks like my sort of thing. Any speculation on if/when it might be available again and for what currency?

I really wouldn’t worry about it. 
Im not sure how, when of if it will come back. 
 

However, last year they teased a brandenburg with no information but for this picture. Looks like a four turret Odin to me.

That looks rather cool, but it's not really an Odin. Only one funnel, stern deck is not lowered. I think I can see the 4th turret. Looks more like a 4-turret Schanrhorst, or a triple turret Tirpitz.

If you don't have a Tirpitz I'd pick that over the Odin.

is a bismarck with scharnhorst towers AL has information about this, the wg worked on something only they called it Heinrich

I already do just hunting for variety and thought Odin looked cool and different (and because I really like Scharnhorst).

 

Also looking at Pommern maybe.

I'll be quite surprised if there isn't some way of getting her eventually, probably for money/doubloons (or whatever Satan Crates end up being next Christmas, perhaps?).

 

I imagine there will - quite deliberately - be a bit of a delay though; if people knew they could just open their wallet soon after a dockyard event, they might be less inclined to grind (so keeping WG's server numbers up)?

 

I quite like Odin, but she's not worth losing sleep over; mine gets used more or less exclusively for doing missions in Coop. Odin is fun, but if I want to play against real people, I'll take Tirpitz...

I could imagine, that a lot of people would be mighty pi**ed if WG would sell dockyard ships in the store.

 

TVIII premiums usually cost 40-45€ and folks who bought dubloons to get the ships without grind, payed almost twice that amount. 

 

I doubt WG is willing to create a crapstorm, at least until enough time has past and they find (probably already have) a way to sell them in a special short time event for.

Don't worry about it, it was bad. Pommern is the exact same style, it's also not meta, but at least it's actually good at what it does.
If you want this style at T8, Tirpitz. But i'd go with pommern, tier for tier it's better, better matchmaking and economy too, and it's free, just need coal.

I usually take them out in co-op along with the Bismark I'm hanging onto (because it's the Bismark).    The only other silver ships that I still have are the ones that I was awarded again through various campaigns.

The problem with bringing Agir back is that WG attached a 35,000 doubloon price tag on it! Even at half that it is a very poor proposition.

Already have that too.   I came back to the game after over a year break and found I had saved 1 mil FXP for "something eventually". Well, since Siegfried went to research bureau Agir was my consolation prize. I do really like it though.

Very good point. The idea of the dockyard is not bad but the grind is pretty ridiculous, I thought they would save it for unique T10 ships. But now they used it for a T8 (apparently not a great one), you're right it will be hard to justify selling it for "normal" prices.

I don't mind not meta, I just want fun and not too terrible.

 

I'm slowly closing on the coal for Pommern, but trouble there is it's competing with Yoshino.

You've missed nothing, Odin is hot garbage. Tier for tier Scharnhorst is waaaay better, is historical and you can play it in Narai

I wouldn't call it garbage, as the ship itself is not that bad. However, its limited range, low caliber guns and abysmal HP pool make it look worse in the meta than it would be.

It was ok-ish pre-commander skill- frak up, and it had its moments where it could shine.

 

The new dead eye meta makes it difficult for brawler type BBs (with limited gun range) to shine.

It now relies on the enemy team being heavily potato.

And "You can have decent/good games...if the enemy team screws up" is not really an incentive to spend money on that ship.

 

That being said, Odin is not a bad ship per se, but the dead eye meta screws it hard.

 

So, if you have it, make sure you use the "Lubricate all sensitive areas" commander skill, cause you gonna need it.

Odin is fun in Coop but crap in random. She gets nuked by CV's worse than average for some reason, she struggles to do dmg and she dies quickly. She's slow. Secondaries are good on paper but have crap firing angles.

She needs a buff, and deserves one I think. Give her Agir's guns, for a start.

35k is a bit high but the ship is also a monster.

Well this could be turned into a super heavy cruiser like Puerto Rico. Would be nice one on T10.

Good for you that you didn't waste resources on the Siegfried, the ship was killed by the commander rework.
