I used Musashi against Lion + Conqueror, it was just bitter to suffer this. HE doesn’t need so much skills, as long as you shoot on the target, it worked. And worked especially good on britisch BBs with dead eye. Nice job WG

rework fire mechanics completely, separating fire from hp.

fire should debuff ship functions.

 

fire on turret? depending on where, turret reloads slower, loses vertical dispersion, loses traverse rate.

fire on superstructure? depending on where, loss of detection range, loss of team spotting info, loss of radar use etc

You mean buff HE???

 

Sry I misunderstood...yeah it makes also sense. Actually using HE can‘t sink a battleship in realistic.

Or maybe just rework the British battleships.

Though nobody mentioned, I think KGV in tier 7 is as powerful as thunderer in Tier 10.

rn bb are symptom not cause.

same as almost every other fire spammer.

underlying problem is the entire way fire in handled.

Personally I think CV rework brings a lot of fun to play than before, as player your vision is improved; so dose the captain skill rework, brings many different possibility to play. 
BUT, the balance was disaster...and because of the mechanism, players choose the best solution of course: Thunderer + dead eye

they either fix it or bury themselves. at this point im finding it hard to care with all the stuff that is broken enough to be causing problems.

not like they have a choice. fire mechanics barely worked when it was only ijn vs usn.

adding fire gimmick boats and lines to that mess jumped the shark.

I'd say the same thing (RN BB being a symptom), but the cause being Dead Eye.
BBs are generally balanced around poor dispersion, but now having those accurate shots breaks the balancing vis a vis cruisers.

bot eye is also a problem that has made the situation worse. since its made all those high tier 2000m/s railguns become laser guided munitions.

there is zero reason anyone should be expecting 30meter clusters as 30 km.

that isnt even player skill. its just a game mechanic.

your response does rather typify the stupid prejudices in this game though, the latest being that everyone is playing thunderer at max range shooting only HE and these people are not worthy.

Imagine the threads if they actually nerfed the Thunderer HE and all of them started using AP. :D

OP AP from any angle and he dies faster than to HE.

All that crying would be hilarious :D

And that's why everything WG does goes through.


I was also guilty for quite a bit of HE spam, not gonna lie, it just comes with game, but to defend it saying it's fine? Or even more, defending ships like Thunderer? I regretted I ever bought it.

By far all the most exciting moments for me have been close up encounters, getting that adrenaline rush trading blows or shoveling torp salvo in someones face, winning or losing by thin margin, and no amount of damage farming or matches I won will ever beat that feeling.

Yes, that's apparently not popular at this point, if the mentality of playerbase is going to be all about finding most efficient way to send reds to bottom with as little risk as possible and by all means and tools provided, who cares about thrill, who cares that the gameplay is stale and becoming more and more one sided?

Let's just feel rewarded by staying from each other as far as possible lobbing shells and see who gets most damage! What even is Covid and social distancing, when you got WoW's..

There will always be people defending CV's, HE mechanics, even more now with the skill changes, so looks like WG is doing just fine "adjusting" the gameplay and nothing is ever going to change.
