Custom skins/Camo

Hi,   Myself and a few friends have been playing this for a while now and have seen some amazing camo/skins for the ships .. one even looked like it was right out of mad max lol  .. glowing green with smoke effects etc etc

 

are these purchasable or do people mod them? if so... how?
