The new dead eye skill, how does it work?

Lets say NC 12.3km concealment:

No one is in my concealment: activated

A ship is spotted in my concealment:not activated

A ship is in my concealment but not spotted/in smoke: ?????

I get set onfire, my concealment gets +2k: how does it work here?????

Its very sad that wg isnt even explaining how this new skills work entirely.

Mostly likely they dont even properly know^^

  • Dead Eye: reduces the dispersion of the battleship's main battery shells if there are no visible hostile ships within your ship's standard detectability range. Complement this skill with Concealment Expert and Concealment System Modification 1 to make it even more effective.

You expect someone to explain something, which he doesnt know himself how it works?

Ah I should have read your next like, but the thought popped up in my head right away so ^^

Since it says "no visible" it SHOULD be activated unless you actually see someone in your detection range. Which would also imply, that while on fire and suffering worse concealment, dead eye would only activate, one there is nobody in that 14,2 km range. Thats what logic dictates, from the description, but then again... see above.

Holy cow! That stupid skill is even stronger then I thought!

I hoped that a sneaky DD could at least cancel it. But no, it has to be visible. :Smile_facepalm:

Oh boy, then we're in for a treat ! Remember how they fine-tuned the CV-rework to perfection? No? Well, me neither.

standard detectability = concealment after all modifiers are applied

visible= ship is visible on the minimap within your concealment range

They could at least change it to only be in effect when the ship isn't spotted....so only for the first salvo (unless you're stealthfiring) or waiting long enough.

Wouldnt that make them camp even harder? I mean, currently, even if you are spotted by a DD but nothing else is in your concealment range, you can still profit from that skill.

I am discovering the skills late, I guess (I didn't care, to be honest), but why? Why would WG reward J-line sniping? Why?

Because thats where their main source of income sits.

Fine. Give them more armor or better secondaries. Why sniping?!
