Cruisers got a minor buff to AP a massive concealment nerf if they take more HE damage(which is the majority of what they use) a slew of situational skills no one will take outside of for the memes. AA based cruisers like the Worcester now do less aa damage if they go full aa because they nerfed sector enhancement, but they can get an extra flak burst. And then their is super cruisers who are now going to on constant fire thanks to BBs like the Conqueror and Thunderer becoming more snipey. And and if you are a cruiser with 128 or 130 mm gg you just lost 10% dakka and 20% range.

So... I don't have time to play right now... But a quick question.

 

Are cruisers flushed down the toilet by this update, just as I expected? Or worse?

Actually not, the classes that will suffer the most are dds and bbs, cvs are getting a buff somehow..

One thing that annoys me about this update is that it continues to take away what little emersion this game has left. I want captain skills, not CoD perks.  Everything is so situational now. It's like 'Play a DD on a full mood whilst whistling Bohemian Rhapsody, +8kts speed'.

This is the official post of the new patch, the only way to try to made my voice heard from stuff. If people leaves in big number they notice it. If people explain why leaving, they know also the reason, and maybe they try to improve.

Is it me or is managing in your commander reserve now 10x harder than it used to be.

You used to be able to see all commanders, regardless of nationality, that were in your reserve.

Those that belonged to a different nation's navy were listed at the end and greyed-out to indicate they weren't suitable - good idea.

You could still see who was in reserve AND dismiss them if you needed more space in the reserve.

Now you can only see commanders that match the currently selected ship - bad idea.

For example, I'd saved all those 6pt Santas with the intention of harvesting Elite XP (I don't have much :Smile_sad:) when this update hits.

Now I have guess the nation by selecting a ship from each nation's navy to

1) even see what commanders I have in reserve

2) manage what I do with the commander(s)

Guys, just a simple question; Can I now asign the same commander to 3 different ships of different classes? Like Kutznesov to Petro, Kremlin and Grozo? 

 

PS: Is it me or Smolensk got a considerable buff as you can mount IFHE and also increased damage of the HE (without affecting your concealment):Smile_amazed:

  • Players with Access Level 8 and above will receive 500 Doubloons when they first log in to the game during Update 0.10.0.
  • Update 0.10.0 features six special combat missions, one for each nation with more than one ship branch: U.S.A; Japan; U.K.; U.S.S.R.; Germany; and France. To complete each mission, you'll need to earn 1,100 base XP in any number of battles, playing a Tier VII–X ship in any battle type, except Training Battles. The reward is 100 Doubloons.

In total, you can obtain up to 1,100 Doubloons. This amount will be enough to retrain your Commanders 22 times in Update 0.10.0.

what you are saying doesn't mean you did a good job with this patch.

It is sadly fun that every kind of WG support or forum answers never take care about what players are asking and writing. Just excuses: "I do crap things? No worries, the new crappy skill system remains, but I give you useless doubloons".

it seems the 'recommended' builds from WG don't include concealment expert on most ships i looked at, so i had to use the reset all button, thanks, that's EVERY tech tree ship (except lexi/midway as i don't have them) and some prems with dedicated commandersto re-spec...

 

EDIT: you know what, sc**w it, i sold every tech tree ship from T1 to T9 (yes, that's 199 of them) and WG have got their wish, i'll just use my T10 commanders on their ships and my prems, because who's got time to respec just about 200 ships, it's supposed to be a game, you know fun.

ok, ur nice. thx 4 info. though, i now gotta go into /s mode to not totally rage out.....

 

i tried to, i checked to rebuild some builds... it's gone, ok? the synergies, the builds, the true options...... imo: gone. to alone set up some captns takes aeons! to push some up to 21 (as i need those pts to kinda come close to former builds....), did yet cost me 9mil cxp!!!

without even touching the tops of my captns and builds........................

 

 

i open the client, i look at the mess, i want to close it right away...

is that what u guys wanted to achieve?! congratulations, u did it! as never before, total success in that regard.

 

 

without sarcasm: from a since release player: this is the most utter mess this comapny ever got to roll out, with things like the messed up cv rework that's quite an achievement in the most possible negative way!

Saved and saved for my dream ship "Flint" - what a waste of time and resources - i now have a ship where the crew can throw golf balls further than the guns can shoot - really well thought out WG - NOT.

WG wanted to achieve variety in ship builds. The only way they might achieve these is by purely frustrating and misleading players, that do not fully understand the whole concept and these situative skills on top of getting a russian reach around on top of getting castrated beforehand. This is a bs update and frustrating to the point where I want to rip my hair out, light it on fire and hotbox my closet with burning hair stench.

So is Cunningham as the replacement for his enhanced Jack-of-all-Trades now only applies to subset of consumables some of which you don't get on RN ships.

I ended up transferring him to HMS Furious - and I'm no CV player - where at least his enhanced Aircraft Armour skill hasn't been busted yet.

I noticed that right-click menu on a commander you could use to transfer him to another ship has also been removed.

You now have to select the ship you want to put him on and then then transfer him from where ever he currently is.

So another retrograde step in the UI

There seems to be a problem/bug with the update - or the advice given above:

 

Based on the advice given above, before the update I did the following:

1) Moved all my highest point or special commanders into researchable tech tree ships.

2) Filled all my non tech tree (premium/special) ships with commanders - who had already been specialised to ships which already had a captain assigned - intentionally creating multiple specialisation duplucated captains.

3) Filled any vacant spaces in my reserve - so it was full.

My understanding was that when the update ticked over, the following would happen:

1) All the captains in the TT ships would be retrained automatically.

2) All the captains in the non TT ships would immediately attempt to move to the ship they are specialised to, and if the ship was already full, would be sent to the reserve.

3) If the reserve was full, it would be expanded to fit the captains that were moving from the non TT ships.

 

My expectation was that the reserve would be expanded by the number of non TT ships I have, because all the commanders in the non TT ships would have to be placed in the reserve, which would be expanded to fit them.

 

This did not happen. Instead the commanders in the premium ships remained there - which is not what we were told would happen.

Is this a bug in the update logic, or is this a case of WG Staff giving out incorrect information about the update process?
