Wave mechanic in World of Warships?

Should World of Warships have a wave mechanic where rough seas can temporarily obscure ships, capsize them, destroy things on ships, change the heading, smash them on rocks and other such mechanics (or that CV’s can’t launch planes)?

Come on we already have cyclones and what not which are super wonderful and improve every game they appear in.

You may as well introduce sea ice so everyone gets frozen in place. That would really make things fun.

One thing though.... when you turn the ship hard they do heel over. Can we please get the additional gun elevation and associated range please?

Yeah we totally need bbs in the backround doing circles to get more range they can not use cause turret traverse

you'd have to be going fast and turning so not really something possible with a bb for very long

Insert any shipclass and realise how utterly nuts the whole idea is of putting that in.

Same for the original proposal, usually you shouldn't even see ships on 20km away when we go full simulation

That hasn't stopped them putting things in in the past though has it :cap_cool:

It would be great if they could add a more dynamic movement to the ocean other than it being rather flat all the time. Sure, we have rudimentary weather events in the form of cyclones, but adding a little more variety could be good for the game. Would be amazing to add rough seas to storm events when they occur.

I agree, and to clarify I don’t want to see maelstroms included in the game. Just some rough sea that adds variety and makes sailing a skill (anyone can sail a ship in the current game since you simply put it in a speed setting and see it go perfectly straight without having to turn into waves to stop the ship from sinking (capsizing should be an extremely rare event).

We have cyclone and stormfront which "only" affect spoting and you can ask players how much they "like" these.

If you want realism without disturbing the game itself I'd be interested in seeing crew members on the ships, you know, little guys loading shells, manning the AA guns, they get knocked into the ocean when you get shot. Like you would sail around and see some drowning crew members. It would add a lot of immersion. Make them scream too, in agony.

I'm suprised why this isn't in the game or why nobody made a mod for this, it's obviously brilliant because I came up with it.

The magnitude of paper ships in the game is so too great for this sort of mechanic. That is why they prefer to stick to fair weather mechanics. To put it more plainly, there'd be too much debris floating around attributable to the 'cream of the world's shipbuilding' for WeeGee's delicate palate. :Smile_trollface:

What about having lifeboats and getting extra rewards post game if you manage to safely evacuate your crew to another ship or island (if this doesn’t work you can always have a counter that shows how many crewmen survived the battle and get rewards for keeping them alive).

That would be another game.

That's not their fault, they were born that way. Blame their parents.

The average WoWS player is already overwhelmed with things like angling, pressing W, damage control and looking at the mini map.

That's why CVs are so popular and that's also the reason why WG is dumbing the game down.

Great idea for OPS (btw we had that mechanic in DYNAMO), but not for any other type of battle.

Fantastic idea that will never happen.

All those great players would become not so great players overnight and that would just lead to a whole lot of crying to WG
