I imagine the prize to you are first in ranked is money  to be so difficult and go back if you lose again and again

nope, its not money, its coal, steel and a token of ranked (ranked token)

and doubloons for victories

Now if only they could design it so being able to answer questions like this is a prerequisite to being able to play ranked. Easy to find info that's not easy to find by some is a key indicator of trouble in ranked.

Apparently, the old system was too easy and casual, and the reward system overly generous. Well, now I have more time to play the Operations... oh wait...
