Carrier feature request: Remove the ability to detonate surfaceships

I've had enough of this already. I know carriers are the toddlers of WOWS but what the hell. I just got detonated tryhard mitigating bloody stupid baby rockets. 1 or 2 bloody rockets hit me. I was, apparantly, out of detonation flags.

Carriers are exempt from being detonated. Make it so those buggers can't detonate anything else in return please.

I disagree. I think the most urging problem right now is OP AA. I think CVs should lose less planes or should have twice as big squadrons as now with faster plane construction onboard. :Smile_trollface:

Thank you for your idea comrade, I’ve put your suggestion through our special WG translation tool and whole heartedly agree with you, so to assist you further we will now be equipping all aircraft with krypton missiles as we feel it would be more engaging if more players get to break these Pathetic damage records 😜


Seriously though I would love detonation being removed completely, it keeps happening to me when I’m actually enjoying/doing well the match and never happens when I’m potatoing

You're all wrong...surely the WG answer is...you've just "won" 10 detonation flags so you won't detonate from a CV strike...until you run out again :cap_like:

I second this, to be fair that should be done as a HALD (Hi altitude low dump) consumable that makes the squad fly over any AA and drop with pinpoint accuracy also the normal 2/3/4 plane rule is negated when using it and all remaining plains in the flight drop at once, it can be limited to 20 uses per plane type for balancing purposes...

It would be a good first step to give carriers the "ability" to detonate like every other frikkin ship.

And a good follow-up to let them take fire damage like BBs and supercruisers instead of those ridiculous 5-second blips.

I know everyone else is taking the p*** with answers here in a humorous way as WarPlane..ing err... Gaming doesn't care but...

 

To be sensible for a moment, as a CV main (please put down the tomatoes) I would be 100% ok with this. CV's can't be detonated so in turn we shouldn't be able to detonate anyone else. 

 

That and as FixCV's put, give normal burning times, even if it did something different like 50% less hull damage to the CV per DoT tick than other classes but also doubled take off and recovery times while the CV was ablaze.

 

Or in the case of flooding have the damage, again, do 50% less per tick but also pause the plane restoration timer while the flooding is going on.

It makes complete sense that carriers can't detonate or suffer from the effects of fires, I mean its not like they are packed full of ordinance and aviation fuel right?

 

Fires should be the bane of carriers, as they were in real life. I personally would rather see them have a high resistance to fire chance but when a fire gets going it hurts

That´s what wonders me too. Late game most ships have some scars like permanently destroyed AA-mounts and torpedo-tubes while the CV usually doesn´t even get shot at in the first half of the game and can "farm at will". And when he finally takes some fire - he bounces BB-shells on his deck, can´t burn nor detonate and continues starting planes like there was peace.

 

And here i could make a joke how the devs should have a look at Russia´s only CV and his history with fires - and how that affects the combat-capability.... but i won´t.

Also make it so our health and AA regenerates over time give us infinite defensive AA with a 5 second cooldown, and make us invulnerable to fire and floods from CV strikes.

 

See how they like it when the boot is on the other foot.

I have seen it happen many times.

There was a certain battle for example where a carrier detonated the enemy 2 DDs and one of their BBs. Everybody was hilariously laughing in chat like 'who is next' xd

Nope that way carriers can detonate too every now and rhen when they forget to check for the flag every frikken match.

Because I carry other flags that when they run out cost gold which I don't want to spend.

 

Why the need to treat classes differently is the actual question. It's not like carrier players really make a difference anymore these days, exempt a few ones that actually know what they are doing.

There is a checkbox that you can use which disables them using doubloons.
