2020-12-03 21:12:55 +01:00 UTC. That's when I bough my 1st containers.

Ah kk so they roll back to when the purchase you are refunding is. For me I'm only actually refunding the last set I bought as the first set I liked, tbh I know she isn't a great ship but I love Yudachi and I was hyped to have her come out of the box, I missed her when she was in the shop due to me being in hospital so was a nice surprise to finally get my POI boat. I wonder what it will mean for progression on missions then.

Do not get fooled a second time by WG. A rollback of the account is just a technical method which is easier for them, so they do not have to check all containers manually and remove their content from your account. A reroll of the account does not automatically refund your money, which is an additional step in any case. They just dare to make the refund more difficult for you and to save time and work resources. You will lose all xp, free xp, Twitch drops, calendar items etc. if you agree to a reroll - just to get the refund you have a right to get, because they have scammed you! But in addition you are getting punished a second time. WG gets more and more ridiculous. May they have to work their sweaty asses off until new year without any break and burn in hell.

Speaking about a case where you already used your goods, yes, roll back isn't the only option. The other option is to keep what you have. This is what you are offered. Take it or leave it.

Thats not the only options......

Say you got 3 ships, 6k doubs, 180 days prem, and 5 x camos/flags

WG could take away all those and if say you have spent 1k doubs on retraning/De-mounting plus are 20 camos/flags short, they could simply go: "well okay, since it was our mess to begin with, we will just take what you have left and consider the rest the price we have to pay for this mess"

I'm aware of different probabilities of ships.. that's not the problem. Don't have anything against gambling, if I set me a limit to spending..

But if see the actual facts and the statement of you then it's a scam. You will only get one ship from the 100 ships with one megabox if you got minimum one ship of the short list. So in that case your advertise is defintely false!!

Refunding is a nice try to help but otherwhise letting this article active means you lure more players in this scam.

Amazing.

The put out a typical PR-message and the outright refuse anymore paricipation in this thread regarding questions.

Perfect customer "service". (It seems like there was one reply, which got removed)

Oh well, while I doubt this will be as a massive Shitstorm as the PR-Event last year, you keep on shitting on your playerbase WG.

Unfortunatly, there are enough whales who still spent too much on this gambling (especially since you announced the removal of from shop removed premiums, which will have increased the sales aswell)

Offering a refund seems fair to me. Some ships surely have higher drop chance than other, and since this was not stated in the description, I can understand that some people got upset with that. So they can get a refund if they want. But calling this a false advertising and even wanting to sue WG? Come on, the description at itself was not false. Because from what I have seen (reddit spreadsheet etc.), you COULD get any ship from the list without having one from the "shortlist", it was just that the shortlist ones were more common.

So WG - not the best initial decision, but great response. A lot of other companies would not offer to give people their money back.

Wow!

They got cought pants down betraying their customers and the sole excuse is, "we did it since 2018, why you bother now?"

I will vote for any party in the next election which will forbit lootboxes and punishes false advertising. Until then my wallet stays closed.

One can't repeat it often enough: YOU, WARGAMING, ARE BETRAYING YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!

There will be a day where this shitty behaviour will be ended and then ...

Errr, how about no. It's a clear case of false, or at best misleading advertising and the reaction (especially the message itself) is loaded with blatant dishonesty and lies. Like we said so many times, so far there is ZERO evidence, that anybody got a non-shortlist ship from the actual Satan crates and not the Supercontainer. Once again, they deliberately removed the shortlist explanation and ship names from the event description in 2018 in order to fool more customers. And well if you call a "great response" absolutely ridiculous claim that it was due to simplifying the text, then well bravo good sir.

Just check the pre-2018 event round-up. Is it complicated or worse than the current sh*tshow ? This is ALL that's needed and the vodka infused bobbleheads can't do even that.

Unless you have the ships on the shortlist you wont get any of the rare ships they have listet so it is not true what WG says.

Wow, lots of salty kids in here. Take the offer or don't take the offer.. If you complain, then take the offer, pipe down.

I was super happy with the containers, Christmas containers are awesome. I cannot fathom that people didn't notice this before, I thought it was common knowledge. I noticed it the first year, back then you got doubloon refunds for double ships, now you get a reroll on something else.

Scamming? Nahh, people just love to complain when they didn't get exactly what they wanted.. Lackluster information? Definitively! Simple, just add that the chance to get these ships are significantly higher than the rest and the kids have nothing more to whine about.

Jeeze..  Spend your money on charity instead, gives you better conscience I should think.

As some of you noticed, certain ships in the containers have much higher drop rates than others. Santa Containers have worked like this since the very beginning, and until 2018 we even mentioned that peculiarity in the items description. After 2018 it was not present in the description anymore, as it was deemed excessive to the already detailed description.

You still don't understand the issue guyz!
The problem is that you didn't just lie again, but baiting the players to purchase gift containers in the hope of valuable prize. And it's not the bad marketing or misleading advertisement the problem only.
liead.thumb.png.7de27d18146ef271acee92e5cc65abea.png

I am sure, I don't have to explain to you why this is a lie.
Gift containers can drop only some certain ships, once the player has the ship from the short list that just about to drop, then a supercontainer will take over the place and rolls another ship from another pool of ships, that still does not include the most desireable, the most popular ships - basically the main reason why people purchase gift containers at the first place!
Of course, for example the Missouri can be looted from a supercontainer, but only when a player already have all the other ships from the previous shortened lists, wich being concidered by the supercontainers selecting formula / motor / method .. you name it.

Long story short: you advertising the gift containers to the public as an opportunity to obtain rare ships alongside a lot of common ones, as if it was an equal chance. - This is the Bait, and should be considered as an illegal marketing.

Thank you for your attention,
Merry Xmas all!

I was never going to buy any loot boxes this year because of the crappy Black Friday mission nonsense.

Honestly I would spend far more on this game if I could trust that WG were honest but they've gone out of their way to small-print money out of people through gambling and oblique descriptions.

I feel dirty to have paid for premium recently.

To be honest, they don't have to prove their innocence, you have to prove them wrong. Thus far I have seen a few players whining about this. I have seen players getting makarov, then I have seen a very low number of players not getting makarov and none of the "shortlist" ships but other ships that should not be possible. Now I know what users that's got the torches and pitchforks wil cry: LIES! YOU'RE PAID BY THEM! LIAR!.. no I'm not, heck I've paid them money to get shi... stuff, I have loved these containers since day one, but I bought none last year since I got the ships I was missing from the FREE T10 containers. Morale is: Don't play if you can't afford to not get what you desire, don't buy if you cannot afford it in the first place.

So, to me this sounds like the whiners that wants everything for free, and when free doesn't suit them, they complain.

And, please, keep the comments coming. I've got a gargantuan bowl of popcorn.

To be honest the Gift boxes are still worth to buy, because the value what you can get from them - can worth much more in money. (doubloons, premium days, ships .... etc) the problem is that you can't get what you really want, unless you already have the other 150 premium ships at your port ...  :S

which is a lie. The SHORTLIST ships have a 100% chance to drop from Santa Containers, whereas the rest has a 0% chance.

You can get the ships from the 107 list ONLY from Supercontainers.

Don't believe me? Provide me with a photo of a ship from the 107 list coming out of a Santa Container and NOT a Supercontainer.

As long as I don't see such photo, the shortlist thing remains the truth. It's true until proven wrong.

Sorry, can't. Does that prove me wrong? No, it proves nothing. At it's very absolute best it's circumstantial. And to be honest, it's been like this since the start.

The problem here is that it's not a condition/requirement but a result of drop chances wg set up from the beginning.

In the whole Santa gifts scenario chance to get something else (that is a rare ship) than makarov or other high drop rate ship first are probably close to 1 to 100 000, or even less. So to prove that short list not in fact a requirement  but the result we would have to buy 1 or more containers on t least 100 000 accounts. I Wonder how many data the community gathered 2k drops maybe?

So to sum the whole drama up:

Do you have the chance? Yes you do.

Will you get it? Heck no unless you will be really really lucky...

Is this Ethical? No! Because it abuses people with gambling problems or people that are not educated well enough. These should be protected from such practices.

Should WG put the drop chances next to the ship names in the list? Of course.

Would people understand that? Most of them probably would not... Even if WG would tell you there is 1% chance to roll T9 ship from the list people would still think: "Oh ok, then lets buy 100 boxes and get muh rare ship" This does not work like that...

2020 - ITT people are learning how gambling works and are still losing money...

Be happy that WG offered a refund and that you get another ship for duplicate a not doubloons, because otherwise you would end up with hundreds of thousands of doubloons before getting some decent ship

I would happily take a refund.

but i am not offered a refund.

i am ofdered a refund under the condition to lose anything i did in this game since i bought the item until the actually perform the action.

they could EASILY come up with a better solution.

a) you lose everything you still have and the rest falls under the blanket

b) they let you reroll the ships as advertised without shortlist

c) they could offer a partial refund for everything you did not use yet

d) they could take away whats left an recalculate your earnings in xp.

they could do so much. But what they do is sayin: „if you want a refund, be prepared to lose days of grinding as a price for our scam. Or just suck it up“
