Their fault. Beat em with their own weapons. Exxxxplooooit! :D

They literally sell you pixelated ship (which will worth nothing when server goes down) for tons of money no matter if you refund the rest or not. They press some buttons and there's your imaginary ship. So... They lose "literally" nothing at all.

WG should really replace the animated banner where they show all the rare ships and replace them with the crappy ones from the short list.

Nobody would be able to complain anymore.

Also, pls add a link of this announcment to the article, so everybody who hasn't YET bought any crates is warned. Otherwise, this crap storm might linger up until the end of january.

Since i am a nice guy, i posted links to this PSA in all social media sites and gaming forums, so WG doesn't have to. ^^

And so should all forumites, cause it's the time of giving and after we received from WG, we really should give back!

Spread the link to this PSA folks!

Don't forget to also share this scam with your government. I'm sure they'll really like seeing this for a PEGI 7 game

I have two problems with this;

1. I don't think a refund and improving the next years Christmas celebration is enough. There is a problem now, and the refund kind of acknowledges this but does nothing to fix the problem. As stated before, people that don''t read the forums are still made to believe that they have a chance at getting a Missouri out of a Santa Crate. Which AFAIK is simply false. So at the very least the advertisement should be changed, although preferably the mechanic gets changed to something somewhat more fair.

2. The refund period is short, and not widely advertised. Just like last year with Puerto Rico. I actually complained to support about the Puerto Rico thing, but by the time I found out a refund was possible, the deadline had passed (by just a day or two) but customer support did not budge and no refund for me. So yeah, you offer a refund, but hide it well enough that only a few people will find/use it. This is not customer service/support or whatever.

This is not a good way of resolving the issue, and if two years in a row you end up giving refunds for crap like this, maybe you need to look at yourself instead of your player base to see who is at fault. Basically you offer a refund, hope the complaining stops eventually without losing too much money over it, and next year everyone will have forgotten that you promised an improvement. But since you think you can just do whatever the hell you all like, I think it is time we find out of regulatory bodies in the EU feel the same about that. From the sound of it there already have been multiple complaints filed, and I am sure the wonderful solution you offer will encourage people to.. well you get the idea. You can always check with EA's lawyers about the fine(s) they are facing.

"

As some of you noticed, certain ships in the containers have much higher drop rates than others."

This is not true. What is correct is: Certain ships is certain to get before others. A slight difference.

Yes it should be like this. But still... Would all players be aware how low chances they have to get the Atago B in the above example?

image.png.64189ffa830c48c8de234e952ab3b047.png

Out of 1 000 000 containers (yes, one million) only 4978 would drop Atago B :D Is that A lot? Well, it depends.

But OK, lets use some realistic number of containers.

image.png.318c7a7e242d16ebb3f337fb8bdead02.png

Out of 1 000 Containers you would get only one Atago B if you were lucky/unlucky, and around 20 Błyska/Indianapolis drops

So... Even with drop rates provided, people would still come up with something like short list because high drop rate items ships would drop first for almost all of them (Makarovs) and everything else ships with very low rate would drop latter on in Super containers.

What is this? I have not used anything from containers. Not a single thing and still must endure a rollback??

So they received the order not to differentiate the single purchases and force rollback all over the place to avoid exploit of keeping the good ships/content. Next kick in the face.

On the other hand, do you think there would be a rage if everyone would start pulling out Belfasts out of the boxes instead of Makarovs?

Would we be calling it #Belfast4Everyone, #ScamtasticBelfast, #Belfastlivesmatter? :Smile_trollface:

What happens if i refund a buy of 20 but i have already used consumables lile camo, signals or coal?

in the time since i got the crates i played a ton of games and bought a coal ship.

how would the refund work? Would i lose my coal ship i bought?
would i lose tech tree ships i researched with xp i gained through xp-bonus flags? Or bought with credit bonus flags?

Are they f-kin shittin me?

because THEY failed to describe the product properly and THEY take days to respond to my support ticket I should lose all progress i made?

what in the actual [edited]is wrong with them.

it could be so easy:

everyone who pulled shortlist ships gets them replaced with the honest containers that you would give if you roll a short list ship they have.

THIS way i get what i paid for. Neither side loses anything. No money and no time.

Problem is: the only specific containers that were not as advertised were the ones with the ships. Now they discourage everyone to get refunds, because if you want the fraudulant containers refunded, you will also need to refund the others in the batch. So you pay by losing all progress you made.

Fkin hell, that is EA-levels of scam on hypercrack. Holy damn

If you open the containers, its rolled-back ... if not they just remove the containers.

the goods from the containers should still be on your account, otherwise, Customer Support will have to do a roll-back to restore them and process the refund.

So you just need to not use the stuff you had from the containers, so no rollback, only if you had used or maybe refund everything you bought.

i also opened a ticket to refund crates i bought earlier today, if they wanted to rollback to the 12.03 they would need to refund everything.

Which means 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999% of people who bought some, have to either accept them as is or accept a roll back....

I did not use a single flag, doubloon, camo or a lump of coal from my haul. Was being extra careful about that. Did not sail any of gained ships either. Still have to endure a rollback.

So if I buy 8 boxes now and I'm dissatisfied by the results, I can refund all 8 of them by contacting customer support before the 12th?

Hm, i will see what they tell me, if they really want to roll back my account to the 3rd they would have to refund more than the 3 i wanted.
