Sooo, what happened is:

 

WG crapped on the xmas cake.

People figured out, there's no chocolate on it.

People start complaining, and a massive crap storm starts.

 

WG reacts in WGs typical way:

instead of removing the crap from the cake and stop crapping on it, they offer refunds, so they can sell someone else the same crap-cake and hope the next customer doesn't notice.

 

Ahhh, that's why there's no info on the main portal.

 

 

And WG still hasn't learned anything.

 

Things we learned:

Careful with cakes made by WG.

There is NO chocolate on a WG made cake.

The chocolate is a lie (and so is the cake).

Cyberpunk 2077 is about to be released, much more bang bang for the money.^^

Should only be rolled back if you no longer have the items to be refunded

But its stated that the rollback is only happening when the stuff i wanted to give back is not anymore on my account, like camo or flags that are used.

 

The refunds will be handled according to the normal procedure – the goods from the containers should still be on your account, otherwise, Customer Support will have to do a roll-back to restore them and process the refund.

Crazy idea: Buy what you can until the shortlists are processed and buy more. Until you get the good ships. Then you have to decide from when to when you want to make a refund.

WG should really replace the animated banner where they show all the rare ships and replace them with the crappy ones from the short list.

Nobody would be able to complain anymore.

 

Also, pls add a link of this announcment to the article, so everybody who hasn't YET bought any crates is warned. Otherwise, this crap storm might linger up until the end of january.

Since i am a nice guy, i posted links to this PSA in all social media sites and gaming forums, so WG doesn't have to. ^^

 

And so should all forumites, cause it's the time of giving and after we received from WG, we really should give back!

You can choose which purchases you want to refund. Buy now 10x 8 crates, file a ticket asking for a refund of purchase 1-6 and 8 if the 7th purchase contained a Belfast. Just speculations:

 

• Until Sunday, Dec 13, any player is eligible for a one-time refund request for the Santa Crates they purchased. Please refer to Customer Support if you would like to have a refund, and please note, in order to prevent longer queue times, all purchases you want to refund should be in one request. The refunds will be handled according to the normal procedure – the goods from the containers should still be on your account, otherwise, Customer Support will have to do a roll-back to restore them and process the refund.

Maybe the choice should have been a refund of all crates or no crates. The first bunch of crates will always have the least interesting ships anyway.

WG is a horrific lyar.

This below is the exact wording of the Santa Mega Gift container in the Premium Shop - I highlighted the part that creates the confusion. (mislead) 

The description clearly indicates that you do have a chance to get ANY of the ships from the Santa Gift Container, whereas this is simply not true.

This is not something of a simplification of the rules, this is misstating the rules.

Period.

So refund is OK

But WG must fix the description or from now on they are confirmed willfully deceive their customers! That is a crime.

 

It's Time for Santa's Gifts!

Each gift contains valuable items: Coal, doubloons, camouflage patterns, signals, or a Premium ship. The containers have specific chances to drop rare ships (Imperator Nikolai I, Gremyashchy, Kamikaze, Fūjin, Giulio Cesare, Flint, Belfast, Mikhail Kutuzov, and Enterprise) or Tier IX ships (Neustrashimy, Missouri, Musashi, Kronshtadt, Benham, Jean Bart, Pommern, Ägir, Georgia, Alaska, Azuma, and Friesland).

Note: the chances of ships being dropped from Santa's Big Gift containers are higher than for Santa's Gift containers. Santa's Mega Gift containers have the highest chances of dropping ships.

You can find one of the following rewards in a Santa's Mega Gift container:

If a ship that you already have in your Port is dropped, the Santa's Mega Gift container will be replaced by a supercontainer. The latter will contain another ship from the list along with a Port slot and Commander with 10 skill points. More information about the compensation can be read here.
