Yeah, the timing for this is immaculate.

Wanted to watch the tournament but who ever is in charge of the camera ruined it. First professional tournament and you can't see crap - WG excellency once more.

I just dropped into Twitch for the potential rewards; the comments section is hilarious - I'd guess that 90% is a combination of Makarov/crates comments and moaning about the camera...

It almost feels like a privilege to be able to witness this level of PR balls-up...

Yes, like last year they should have an exec tell the player base that "no amount of whining will change the event".

: We will address the topic of santa crates/Makarov with the devs on Monday. There are no comments we can make on it other than that.

This is from the official wows twitch stream, although if they truly cared they would of pulled the crates from the store until this was all sorted out.

Tis the season to be shady. Ba la la la la la la. Claim the community is acting like babies, ba la la la la la la.

You know one day I might finish the Wows Christmas anthem.

Yes they do damage control with censorship, deleting posts from Twitter, banning people on Twitch. They are in good course

When hard times hit a company the best of them will be open, admit mistakes and be transparent with their fixes whereas the worst of them revert to more a Communist style of tactics to any bad news such as utter denial, silencing of critics and, as events like Chernobyl prove, that kind of "Nothing to see here Comrade" doesn't wash with Western audiences anymore.

The Truth:  We didnt think you guys would notice.

Truth™ as delivered:  We made a mistake, coding error, the fault of something nebulous, we will learn from this but no refunds.

How much power does WG EU have however to change or even attempt to sort it out? Its the higher ups who make these calls and they are quite obviously operating on a different planet to the rest of humankind. It is blatantly obvious for the past two years especially that these decisions are going steadily one way and one way only....

Been there, done that - happens far too often. Some clot at Head Office dreams up a random brainfart of epic proportions and it is left to everyone else to deal with the fallout. Usually the minions having to do damage control no ability to influence things meaningfully. This is especially true of a company like WG that will happily and publicly shoot itself repeatedly in the foot because the spreadsheet told it to.
