Good of WG to offer a refund.

Imo if they just had added the shortlist (like they did in the early years), it would be fine.

I remember the shortlist and figure the crates work like that each year (but apparently most players don't).

I also don't expect a low tier ship to have the same drop chance as a high tier ship (but apparently a lot of players do).

What I do find astounding is that they still haven't changed the description on the store page.

And why would they?

All the artificially generated outrage notwithstanding (https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/144296-hypothesis-about-the-makarov-satan-crates-shitstorm/), they will still make a fortune off these boxes, server population will continue to rise, the game will remain financially viable and players will still not organise for some protest that would actually be effective. At most  they'll vent a little on the social media. That will restore their mental balance, make them feel heard even though they are not, release some dopamine into their brains and off they go.

Well, I just hope that both EU and US fines them for scam and illegal gambling with at least an 8 figure fine. Although, my personal preference would be a 9 digit fine in total, plus criminal charges for the responsible persons.

I dont, and i dont think anyone should be expected to research past events to see if this is potentially shady.

This is nothing to do with drop rates.

Well, because WeeGee is braking the law, they have the soviet ''we dont care and will get away with it'' mentality, but that will hold until someone decides it is enough.

You want  reasons, well, fake / false advertisement is proven without a doubt! Apple got fined with 113 million USD for slowing down older iPhones ''to preserve battery'', if Uncle Sam sees this fraud, I am sure they will be very happy to explain to the belarus on how buisness is done in the US of A.

I will not get into illegal gambling part.

Well it's more like a burglar offering to to help you choose new furniture for your house, which he just picked clean. The response from player support itself is all good and dandy, but the info about the possible refund is STILL not anywhere on the website, launcher or official channels. So it's a move to just silence us whining forumites, while keeping the rigged cash cow on the pasture.

Agree, we need to spread the word that a refund is available as good as we can.

A lot of posts had to be removed again.

Guys, really, how hard it is not to insult each other?

how important it is to prove someone on the otherside of the continent that;

YOU ARE RIGHT, THEY ARE WRONG!

Come on, please..

@YabbaCoe only one question: Exists a shortlist?

I have not seen any answer to the direct question (which was asked multiple times) if some (the large majority) of the ships have a direct droprate of 0% if certain other ships are neither in port nor dropped before.

Draw your own conclusions.

We are all waiting for the same answer.

I don't think it's coming.

Which is an answer in itself.

I can hardly see any rationale why they would not plainly reject an accusation if they knew it to be false. A simple "No." would suffice. If there is not even a denial, there is little reason to talk about a proof.

I always have mixed feelings about refunds like this.

On one side - it is a correct thing to do in situation like this.

On the other hand - this situation should never happen in the first place, and the whole refund is very much clearly an instance "we are sorry we got caught", instead of "sorry we messed up".

It's not about that.

The EU should classify the game (as long as they use lootboxes) as gambling. That would mean, no one under 18 would be allowed to play. Also, it would mean providing ID to play. Would you? I wouldn't. Which means, bye bye WoWs revenue. That is the real pressure point. That is what we should pursue. Do away with lootboxes. If EA was made to do it, WG can also. But we're too stupid, of course.

The law is still: innocent until proven otherwise.

So unless you have a verdict that says they broke the law, they haven't.

Where is your court ruling? Or did WG say the made false advertisements?

Guess not, so it's your opinion.

Yes, now compare Apple to WG and your request for 8 or 9 figure fines is slightly over the top.

Again, since all countries but Belgium allow it. What is illegal about it? Where is your judge saying that what WG is doing is illegal.

Are lootboxes questionable? WIthout a doubt if you ask me.

Are people buying lootboxes making a mistake? WIthout a doubt if you ask me.

Has WG done anything illegal? Without a court ruling: nope.

Meanwhile, the scam continues??? Santa boxes are still rigged, and are still for sale...

Or did I miss something?

btw, I love people stateing that you get your moneys worth in the boxes.. That's highly subjective ain't it since WG and only WG determines the value of the polygons and pixels they sell.

If they sold a ship for EUR 1.000 and you spend EUR 800 on lootboxes just to get the EUR 1.000 ship, do you still feel you got your moneys worth???

In my opinion you can only say you get your moneys worth if the price of the good is determined by supply and demand. That is not the case for in game purchases.. So no, you never ever get your moneys worth with in game purchases (I don't say you shouldn't buy anything, just that the statement is very dubious/subjective).

You did. They said the lootboxes work as intended = it isn't a scam, it isn't rigged,

So that's that.

Wow, this is a very thin argument. "If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound"? If no one's around to listen, maybe not!

WG are selling random packages for money, without giving the odds or even really the mechanics of the "game". Hence, yes, they break gambling laws. Can we fine them? No, someone has to take them to court. But is it illegal? Yes. Is it scummy, immoral, lowlife thievery? You bet.

Well, I got my account rolled back to before the first purchase on the 3rd Dec, but when logging in I see I have 6450 dubs (more than I had) and a pile of gift containers. Obviously not sure what's going on and sent a ticket to support to ask why I have containers and dubloons...am I waiting for the refund to be processed so they can withdraw everything from my game account?.....So tempting to open a crate but can't and won't, lol.
