As an aside: be sure to mention the game is PEGI 7... I think the EU will really like that 7 year old children can fall victim to this scam!

You overestimate the average reading skills of nowadays' kids. Even those who finish school are hard pressed to deal with more complex literature than emojis.

Has anyone received a refund yet? I'm still waiting for mine. I don't imagine that it'd be overnight, but I wanna know if anyone else has gotten their money/had their stuff removed/account rolled back yet. I spent my doubloons and sold one premium so I should be getting my account rolled back according to the announcement.

. If at that point WG imposed sanctions such as banning my account I would have sued them in small claims court.

I don't think you can do that; it's their platform, you are leasing (basically) their game, infrastructure, etc, they can revoke your access, you do not have the right to access their stuff, it's a given privilege.

I haven't recieved the refund yet, but it has been approved pending some account ownership verification from my side. I preemptively agreed to the rollback because I've used some of the flags/camos already and only played couple of games since. Bought the boxes both directly and with recently (same day) purchased dubloons, btw.

Mine's still pending so hopefully soon, yeah.

It is obvious this is not RANDOM SHIP FROM 107 SHIPS. It should be stated 1 RANDOM SHIP FROM A PRE LISTED 7 SHIPS, THEN 1 OF 100 REMAINING SHIPS (WITH A MINOR CHANCE FOR HIGHER TIER SHIPS).

They are trying to fool us all when they say it is RANDOM, but it is not. The lottery draw is RANDOM as all the balls have the precise same RANDOM chance to be drawn.

I'm not a layer, but I bet there's someone here that could lead hundreds of players to collective to represent this situation in court in different countries. There are prints of their promotion, there are dozens of youtube videos proving how misleading their RANDOMNESS concept is.

This situation won't change if we only stay in this forum (WG forum, btw) trashing how crap they are. They are laughing at us right now. Please, lawyers out there, make a move and we'll follow.

You don't have to follow a lawyer. Report the situation to a consumer protection agency.

It could be isolated people doing it or hundreds of people acting in one case. I believe the 2nd option is more powerful as it's not every day a collective of people sues a company.

So I guess the next Twitch stream will reiterate WG's position on the santa boxes (with us being wrong) and with them being able to talk at us with us not being able to say anything back in return, and typing it in twitch chat will simply be ignored. Lol, it's a great forum to push your view of events without anyone being able to adequately challenge you.

Well, I even got a warning here because I said that, after seeing how rigged were the crates, you have to be very brainless to keep buying :Smile_amazed:

I spent some money for the first time (before this shortlist stuff came out) and got the Vanguard and the Duca - slightly disappointed that I didn't even have a chance to get the T9 but still happy to get a couple of ships.

I haven't gotten a solid reply to my tickets yet, but next step would be to make a claim through Paypal.

I've had an answer from wargaming.

Some parts of the christmas purchases seem to have been used, so that is a bummer.

But they offered to do a rollback of my account.

I asked a few questions about how this would work and if I can choose a timeframe for it, since I made a purchase I'm dying to keep (black friday stuff) a day before I bought the santa containers.

It feels a little sorry still, but honestly, I'm positive and happy that they offered another solutions and I'm ready and willing to take that opportunity.

I know it's easy to diss the company for everything, but if they do something good, I'd also like to say it.

So far I'm happy about the response from player support in order to look for a adequate solution for both parties.

Well it's more like a burglar offering to to help you choose new furniture for your house, which he just picked clean. The response from player support itself is all good and dandy, but the info about the possible refund is STILL not anywhere on the website, launcher or official channels. So it's a move to just silence us whining forumites, while keeping the rigged cash cow on the pasture.

I know what you mean and agree.

I mainly meant I'm happy about the personal contact I've had with them to rectify my personal issue with this.

And wanted to drop a nugget of positivity here.

also since a few people have asked to report what would happen with my tickets.

It does not excuse the business practices regarding the santa containers.

But their reacting towards my support tickets color me a little more positive towards my personal feeling towards my refund issue.

At least they are willing to look for an solution, and that was better than I initially expected.

Still, they should change the description on the purchase page.

I understand they might be afraid for greater consequences if they admit what they did with the boxes, and excuses safeguard them from some lawsuits.

But it should be required that they change the description or take the sale offline until they make the necessary changes to abide by EU and local laws, just like EA and other companies are forced to do right now.

I am not at all surprised they admitted no wrongdoing. Granted, the ballsiness of the bollocks answer took me back, but whatever.

What I do find astounding is that they still haven't changed the description on the store page.

If they changed it it would mean some people may not buy the shiney santa crates.

Hey WeeGee,

I’m going to your item shop as we speak, and make a random decision, whether to buy or not to buy your loot boxes. I will repeat this a hundred times. Let’s go:

WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuyWontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuyWontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuyWontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuyWontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy,WontBuy

As you might have noticed, a certain decision has a much higher probability than the other. I am sorry that you are left disappointed by my buying behaviour this year. I will(*) work on improving my buying behaviour for the next christmas event.

Cheers

*probably (**)

**probably not

It appears that we have been spoiled with excessive information for years. One thing that's kind of unfortunate is that there's supposed to be some kind of a nice charity event coming up and the community is ablaze.

This is like someone selling you a laptop, and when you open the box it contains nothing but a brick in bubble wrap. When you finally find them, they offer to give back your money and you praise them for ‘doing something good’... :Smile_amazed:

I get what you mean, but honestly, their personal responses towards me have been good given the circumstances. I'm not allowed to copy the messages here due to forum rules :(

It's a little double-edged sword type of deal here, but it's in my nature to be appreciative of things that go right in a world where customer support is non-excistent.

To clarify a little further, I'm happy and appreciative of the support employees responses and willingness to help towards me.

I'm still not happy about the commercial and legal mess they've made with these containers.

I might have come off as being happy with WG in this deal, that's not what I meant to say.

But being a [edited] towards an employee that is actively seeking options to help you out when you ask for help feels wrong to me.

It feels a little weird to be mad at a specific individual who you know did not make these stupid and anti-consumer decisions, it's usually the marketing and financial managers/ceo's of a company that do, but never get the blame for it.

So to summarize.

Specific employees helping me out right now: Good, thank you guys for being cooperative.

WG Business Practice regarding this whole christmas lootbox fiasco: Highly illegal and very bad
