Santa containers "rigged": WG Chooses Your Santa Gift Ship

Refund status changed from  "all the containers were opened, and due to this, we can't process the refund of the transactions"  to "We contacted our specialist regarding your issue. They are already looking into the situation and you will receive a proper answer as soon as possible" status. so  they are already looking at something. Never the less everyone should make a refund ticket, not because you actually get anything, but because this is not ok.

Edit: if you love your makarov then don't :P

Because from the second ship on we see drops from the long list.

But it does.

The shop says you have a chance. That is the case from the second ship on.

Now WG has to explain what went wrong with the first ship.

Perhaps you should just have a chance of winning any one of the ships listed as a whole. The shortlist mechanism is the problem. Also winning a clone of a ship, such as the Massachusetts when you already own the black friday edition of the ship stinks too, I have two Massachusetts in port now......thanks WG. TWO IDENTICAL PREMUIMS bar the external camo. Absolutely useless and a joke.

But you knew that could happen...

That is one of the main reasons I do not buy Santa Crates: Ships that I do not need/like. There are too many of them. And most of the ships I like, I already own.

You are right I did, but with the long list of ships, what are the chances of rolling basically a duplicate (bar the external camo) of a ship you own? To be honest, clones of ships should be treated as duplicate. I bought some xmas boxes for the first time since 2017 as I have played the game regularly again for the past 6+ months. I don't mind putting money into the game, but I'm afraid that after seeing all this, I can also take the other option too.

With the now quite long list of B ships, it is expected that some people get duplicates. And some recent buyers probably do not mind, as they can finish the bonus mission now.

But if I got Scharnhorst B last year, the mission is gone, so I would mind.

People only need to feel they are getting something positive out of the boxes. My experience of past WOT XMAS boxes is that you feel you get more from them than if you bought said won items individually. A feeling missing here.

Exactly, on WOT you are not guaranteed to get the tank you are looking for but there is somewhat value, first, you get stuff for the Christmas event who boosts your XP/credit/crew exp gain so it's useful, second you don't get UTTERLY CRAP 20 flags or camos from a crate, the last year with the big bundle on WOT i got 5 tanks, 6 months of premium, a lot of gold + some other goodies, maybe it's not much but you don't get the scammed feeling you get over this CRAP crates.

Instead of giving a statement, they have closed down the other discussion about this fraud. They still cash in money from players who are unaware. Spread the word. Stop shelling your hard-earned money out to these fraudulent, shady and disgusting scammers.

: We will address the topic of santa crates/Makarov with the devs on Monday. There are no comments we can make on it other than that.

This is from the official wows twitch stream, although if they truly cared they would of pulled the crates from the store until this was all sorted out.

Exactly. Crates wouldve been removed instantly if the damage would be greater than the cash which has already been realised and that they are still realising. We will get some kind of compensation, but do you really expect a re-roll for all the ships you got from the shortlist in the first place? It is just another kick in the teeth for all players. And WG will keep this going unless more players (like Flambass) turn away from this apparent fraud and scam.

But pulling the crates would have denied many players the ability to obtain the Makarov....

I imagine something like this for compensation:

  • If you did not get a Makarov in the Christmas containers you will be gifted a Makarov
  • If you did get a Makarov in the Christmas containers then you will be gifted a Duca d'Aosta
  • If you already have both ships sincere apologies are offered and the promise that the rigging will be hidden better next time.

They're bleeding players as well now

SirFoch had an uninstall party on Twitch yesterday... which given his main income is streaming Tanks then you know there's a problem

Foch quit and come back like 2 times now. Not saying history will necessarily repeat itself but he's not exactly a good indicator of whether the game is ''bleeding players'' or not.

My advice is, play the games if you enjoy them. Don't play them if you don't enjoy them. If you wish to make a statement about bad business practices, then don't buy their crap. I'll admit I bought 8 containers, but after I found out they're rigged, I'm not buying anymore until the issue is addressed.

What i really can not fathom is how this always blows up so much. I mean they should know by now that Christmas is their most volatile season of every year and yet they try to go arround making the extra Buck...

^spot on! they always seem to keep the greatest eff ups fpr the holiday season. each year... not since pr, but since santagate like woat, 4 years ago?! or even 5?!....

i'd wish so much they'd just stop it at least for a year... but then, we all know, they like to "spoiling us" on x-mas, so yeah :Smile_sceptic:

on the other hand, as a whale, i cant complain... i'm going each year for all new ships in the crates and usually end up with like 10-12 bucks each ship. not too bad if one started the 1st year i assume. but if i'd now had to start "allover" again i'd surely be a hell load of pi**ed on such stuff!
