I bought 10 mega crates and got the Neustrashimy in them - plus the usual gold, credits, flags and camos.

WG does not choose the ship. The ship you get is a result of a random roll from the result list and the ships in your port.

A mechanic that is known for quite some time.

If you do not already have ships on the short-list, you cannot get a random roll from the result list. That's the issue.

Can you for once keep your hands off of your keyboard and just dont comment on stuff ?

The only thing you are doing is always defend their absolute [edited].

You also seem to be clueless that the mechanic that is talked about is well known. I said nothing else.

That's not really the issue; the issue is that the ship you get is not random

No more or less random than it always was, just maybe from an even smaller, shittier short list.

I fail to see any meaningful difference to the Santa scams of past years, except that this year, apparently even the streamers have decided to forgo the accolades and get onboard the fake outrage clickbait train.

Funny.
Apparently Huang He was similarly shortlisted (like Makarov) in 2019.
Guess which was my only ship received from santa crates last year?

If you guessed suspect A, "Huang He" - congratulations.

So... a reddit post has already been made about it and it's pretty self explanatory :Smile_amazed:

So....? It's been this way every year. Every year some ships have higher drop chance.

It's still not a scam...

And you can buy 20 Mega Santa's for €60, tell me the value you get out of them... It's always more then €60.

No, its you who dont understand.

The sales add gives you the impression you will at random can get one of the many ships they list, including some rare ones.

At no time do tehy inform of the shortlist which you get first!

It is known that low tier ships have a higher Priority, i have never seen WG nor anyone else say smth about a shortlist, but go ahead and do your typical WG defender [edited] and enhance your almost 25k posts keyboard warrior.

Edit : Nevermind its rather close to 28k, [edited]christ do you have much free time.

No, at least following the allegation, that just isn't the case. If you don't have any of the shortlisted ships, your chance to get any ship not on that list is 0.

This is how it will work:

Each tier of container will have it's own percentage chance to roll for each of it's prizes. So as a hypothetical the chance to roll a ship (what most people consider to be the prize) is 10% (remember hypothetical), that doesn't mean your chance to roll any of the ships is 10%. A second roll will be made because the "prize" has a subset of prizes each with their own % chance to roll, with the most desirable prizes being the least likely to roll.

I used to work for one of the biggest gambling concerns in the world (one where the contract was mostly made of NDAs) and Know very well how these "games" or as EA calls them "surprise mechanics" are actually designed. The primary purpose of a santa container is to get you to buy another santa container.

Better to stay with the facts than spout nonesense like WG choosing your ship, while we have already posts from people who got different ships...

Yes, but the allegation is that, once you have rolled the 'prize', a premium ship, you don't get to roll for most of the other prizes. Only for 3.

Because they already have the shortlisted ships in question, which results in the Santa Crate being substituted with a Supercontainer. Try to keep up.

Yea keep going man, you tell yourself that this is all just people making stuff up to get ... out what exactly, truly random results ?

What exactly do you think people get out of this by making crap up ?

If its a shortlist (which is REALLY looks like based on a lot of people confirming and posting vids about it) then they choose your ship, if you like it or not.

It simply is not Christmas without WG pulling a scam of some description or whipping up a riot amongst its player base.

Its a Wargaming Christmas tradition at this point :Smile_trollface:

If an admin closes this thread, we should really keep making them again.
I usually don't have much negative to say about WG, but this is so unbelievably scummy and misleading for the consumer.
Last year's Puerto Rico-event doesn't even come close, since (while scummy) it was always obvious from the start that getting it for free was gonna require an insane amount of work, so you could decide for yourself if it was worth it or not (and for most people, it wasn't).

This is by far the most scummy thing I have seen WG do.
This is grossly misleading their consumers for profit, nothing more.
I wouldn't even be surprised if WG would face a possible legal backlash if someone actually brought this to court, as they seem to be on very thin ice here.

RNG = RANDOM number generator, for example:

yudachi is number now and 999 is idk  the sims

the number one is maybe more popular by rng? it's so random because the number can be 543 343 785 428...

But it was not obvious how much it would cost to finish it. You had to reach a certain number of stages before the game even told you much it would cost to finish it. So they suckered in people who thought "I'll try to get as far as I can and then I just finish it for dubloons" by not disclosing that it would still be expensive.

It's not the same thing, but it's the same pattern of intransparency and exploiting players' naivety.

That pretty much just confirms it ?

" Otschakov Tier VIII (37,17 im Shop) "

" California Tier VII (32,24 im Shop) "

most of them getting Makarov, Yuudachi etc how are you so blind ?

Are you so oblivious ?

He pulled exactly those which people are telling you are on the shortlist, yet you completely ignore it and just link towards it.

And can you please show me that those which did not get them if they already have those ?

You are a man of facts no and im in your world the idiot and factless.

Thanks OP wot_2016_gunner for saving me the 10-20€ I was about to drop in this fraud. Nobody complains to get the Makarov if it is bad luck, but that is not the case. Will spend that money on some booze, sure Mr. Oban, Mr. Lagavulin and Mr. Laphroaig deserve this money. At least i have a decent return from my investment.

That thread completely confirms short list. People just report super container drops as "santas drops" because they roll same short list ships after getting them for the first time.
