tldr
Are you saying crates aren't rigged or are you just saying stuff no one's going to read?

They are 'rigged' in that the odds appear to lean towards some ships coming back more than others. It was always the case - but maybe this year people are noticing it more and far less patient with WG after their various shenanigans.

As for stuff you may or may not read - meh - I don't blame you. It was a specific response to a specific point raised.

If it is gambling in the EU then you have to give the odds.  Accepting bad odds is a personal choice.  Not being told what the odds are is illegal... if it is gambling...

In Belgium the law considers lootboxes as gambling.  Because WG does follow the proper porcedures regarding gambling, WG does not sell those containers in Belgium.

So the fact that all you other EU citizens can still buy them in your country is down to your own governments.

If you feel that they are illegal and not following EU law: sue WG / get your representatives involved.

Otherwise: you can say it is illegal, but until you have a counrt ruling or a law stating such that remains your own opinion and WG will continu as they do now.

Cause rest assured: WG stays in the grey areas of the law (as they do now) but they won't go in the black ones. All this shows is that, in other countries, the law isn't clear on this matter.

Intrigued by this thread I bought ONE (1)  container from the doubloons that I had. and guess what?

Ta-da!

I expected that Santa's gifts are not random, but this is a bit much even for WG.

Be me.

Happy that you can finally finish the 'Shipbuilding' collection.

Spend 20k coal and instead of the promised super container I get a santa gift box.

Open box and get a Makarov.

Surprised I didn't delete it right away.

I wish I was joking. Can I report it as a bug?

Nothing done by a computer is truely random, not even RNG :-)

And this applies even more when it is done by Weee Gee, the inventors of the Rigged Numbers Generator.

Well that explains why I got a super container containing one of the Russian Heavy Cruisers on sale currently for doubloons, as I already have all the ships on there short list

What Flamu has done here is EXACTLY what a CC should be doing.

Revealing this is a major contribution to the community and if there is any action taken against him I will be very disappointed indeed.

Not only him, Flambass too

This makes it actually even worse:

It's important to point out that next year, ships flag_Russia_6ce701e1c2f2ac3909a68a0a7b23premium_1d0cabf1997104fd727039ab9c098192IV Imperator Nikolai I, flag_Russia_6ce701e1c2f2ac3909a68a0a7b23premium_9ffc494df739f989c98f2dd3a4e40887V Gremyashchy, flag_Japan_740b57e1da9b5d3fe46b61e09e3dcpremium_9ffc494df739f989c98f2dd3a4e40887V Fūjin, flag_Italy_206c77d5bf356559100ac3e95fdb7premium_1d0cabf1997104fd727039ab9c098192V Giulio Cesare, and flag_Japan_740b57e1da9b5d3fe46b61e09e3dcpremium_9ffc494df739f989c98f2dd3a4e40887V Kamikaze will not be included in Santa's containers. Yeah, folks, take your last "chance" to get those rare ships! Spend, spend!

In 2017 WG informed what one would get out of the Santa crates for almost 100% which means they pretty much confirmed or gave away the odds of getting a ship out of a crate. In other words, they informed that the crates are rigged and leaning towards these certain ships mentioned in big-mega boxes. Buyers didn't complain about this announced rigging because they knew what they would get out of a crate.

https://worldofwarships.com/en/news/sales-and-events/we-are-many/

They didn't inform public about their rigging anymore as the info about which ships are to drop in crates more likely than others disappears in '18-'19 and '20 pages. Thus, you can't say it was always the case. They left you in the dark. You don't know if it was always the case or not which is a very shady approach by WG. However, as you noted people noticed more and this year specifically it is exposed and became obvious that WG kept their short list since 2017 but didn't inform public about that. I don't know the legal sides of it. What i can tell you is this is a very dishonest approach and once again it confirms people's thoughts that they are unbelievably greedy.

They usually bring on their shenanigans on Thursday, it takes the community until Friday evening to figure out the latest scam and by then, the culprits have escaped into the weekend.

Sooooooo.....I abandoned Wows soon after the CV's reeeee-work. Never played again, never spent an euro again. Also, I tend to collect and play only historical ships, and the increasing amount of paper(sekrettt projectzzz) ships truly discouraged me.

About 3 weeks ago, I updated the game and decided it was time to give it another chance. I won't lie, I had some fun, and I even bought the Ark Royal and the California (WG had sent me various discounts to lure me back in).

Yesterday I bought 20 Santa's crates, the small ones. I got 3x300 doubloons, flags, coal and camos. Not really worth it. Then I read about this new "accident", and this morning I bought 1 Big and 1 Mega crate, using some doubloons I had left in game. Camo and flags again.

Between this and the commander skills rework to come, I doubt I'll stay for long. Again. I'm not even mad, the fault is only ours. WoT, WoWP, WoWs, all followed the same pattern, and we didn't learn.

PS: I am/was an alpha tester (beta on WoT and WoWP). I don't know if there are many of us still in game. And I don't think WG cares.

Bye everyone, stay safe and spend wisely!

Basically WG did the usual stingy implementation of not giving quality ships for free/not much money, and in the following year they pitched the sales by removing the info about the shortlisted ships. The current state that we have for three years now is a clear case of false advertising. And we might start to wonder if there are any other rigged RNG implemented in the game.

Now this is weird, So are you telling us that you were wrong and you actually enjoy the new CV system? There is nothing bad in changing your opinion.. don't be afraid to admit it. This community is different from WoT (at least for now) you will not be insulted because of your opinion. :Smile-_tongue:

I was aware of the "feature" (cause with WeeGreedy there are not bugs and scums, only features), I only just an hour ago watched flamu's and flambass's videos...

They did exactly a CC MUST do. Act in favor of community.

I don't know how WeeGreedy will react on this "the crap hit the fan" situation... Probably they will release one of their famous spreadshits trying to prove us crazy and flatearthers

I mean Alaska is more expensive, than the Scamarov.
So if it drops instead of a low tier premium, they lose money.
Nonetheless a scam is a scam.

What is wrong about this scam is that WG (other gaming companies too) believe their in-game items have a fixed price they set. Let it be for WG Belfast is "worth" 500 Euro.

Now the f...... problem is IF YOU BUY A SANTA CRATE FOR 10 EURO REAL MONEY AND IT'D HAVE A CHANCE TO DROP BELFAST THE WG THINKS YOU ROBBED THEM !!!!

And that's the unbelievable thing about them. They believe in such a case YOU RIPPED them by 490 Euro because you got something "cheap" from them, that they believe it is "worth more".

And what they did is punishable in EU. It's exactly as if a lottery '6-out-of-49' would sale tickets for 10 Euro but in fact draw numbers 50 and higher without giving notice to customers.
