I doubt we will be getting any statement today...
What a shameful conduct by WG, if they plan to cover their a** with a "bad wording" excuse they should have fixed it when the first rigging videos came online, it is not that hard to change an article!
And if they plan to blame it on a bug... any company with even a shred of respect for its customers would have withdrawn the flawed product from sale until it is fixed! And yet, here the boxes are, still available for gullible people to buy.
Shame!

That they're still on sale kinda indicates that they are set to do nothing. They're pretending to look into the issue but will probably do nothing. If they really had any concerns they would have pulled them.

Will make a report of this scam at the national gambling authority of my country too, rigged scamming activities. Hope all WG lootboxes will get banned permanently.

I advise everyone that has been deceived with this fraud aswell, to do the same at your local/national gambling authority. Let WG feel it the right way. You can't scam people like this, period.

FRom a couple of game I can say that per se is not a so bad.

OFC is a tier VI light cruiser therefore you have to play carefully and keep moving..

Cant stand Nurnburg personally.

Light armour and the gun layout. For me I think its the gun layout that makes me dislike the ship so much, I disliked the Roon also.

I make a point of shooting them both on sight just for lols.

The only way to get Missouri, Musashi, Kronstadt and all the other rare ships is to have all the premium ships on the list and then buy megacontainers and have them exchanged for supercontainers. I bought 60 mega last year and got all the rear ships that way.

So on first hand you bought all of the ships from the store and only then you proceed to buy 60 crates?

This. They won't even adress this whole issue. The scam pretty much sealed it for me that I unironically threw the game off my hdd (and gained some juicy disk space) without the intent to looking back. But that they're seemingly not even adress this mess is beyond any capacity of rational thought. I hope they get held accountable by EU politics so they have to act on it. The fact that they expect the playerbase to just accept this as it is just shows how much off the rails WG is with their greed policy, and how much they see the players as cheap cashcows that need to be milked.

I think this is an industry-wide problem mate. These companies want to treat the gaming world like the gambling world. They care not that a large proportion of their customers are minors. They don't care that reasonably pricing items would be profitable. Game companies have been shown to make games as grindy and as unpleasant to play unless money is spent in relatively large amounts. I don't mind spending a bit of money to enhance my enjoyment. Nor do I mind doing so to help keep a game I like going. But there definitely is a big problem - industry-wide, with companies treating customers like cash cows.

How many times has a child got hold of mums card and went nuts buying things? Quite a bit. There is something wrong with an industry that is supposed to be fun encouraging that.

An example I have myself experienced is with my nephew who plays the Xbox when he comes round. I caught him on a screen trying to buy items for a game. Thankfully I'm not a complete dumbass and have it set up to require passwords that he will never know but you get my point.

They're pretending to have some kind of 'nosebleeding', not even one WG employee reacted in this topic to clarify this or make an apology of some kind.. All I got was the automatic reply everyone got after submitting a suportticket about this deceiving (anti-)Christmas deal.:Smile_facepalm:

In Finnish language, "picking blood from one's nose" and "begging for a nosebleed" are commonly used in abstract meaning to describe self-destructive behaviour, for example ignoring safety procedures or deliberately aggravating stronger parties.[31]

In Filipino slang, to "have a nosebleed" is to have serious difficulty conversing in English with a fluent or native English speaker. It can also refer to anxiety brought on by a stressful event such as an examination or a job interview.[32]

In the Dutch language, "pretending to have a nosebleed" is a saying that means pretending not to know anything about something.[33]

From Redditt (WG NA)

Commanders,

We've received a lot of questions and comments regarding 2020 Santa Containers, and we would like to clarify the situation.

As some of you noticed, certain ships in the containers have much higher drop rates than others. Santa Containers have worked like this since the very beginning, and until 2018 we even mentioned that peculiarity in the items description. After 2018 it was not present in the description anymore, as it was deemed excessive to the already detailed description.

We're sorry that some of you are left disappointed by the Santa Containers this year. We know this is something that a lot of our players look forward to and the last thing we want is to see you upset approaching holiday season. Thus, we will do the following:

We will work on improving the next Santa event with the feedback and concerns you voiced.

Until Sunday, Dec 13, any player is eligible for a one-time refund request for the Santa Crates they purchased. Please refer to Customer Support if you would like to have a refund, and please note, in order to prevent longer queue times, all purchases you want to refund should be in one request. The refunds will be handled according to the normal procedure – the goods from the containers should still be on your account, otherwise, Customer Support will have to do a roll-back to restore them and process the refund.

Regardless of whether you were considering Santa Containers at all, we hope you will enjoy all of the holiday activities and gifts this year – stay tuned for more news on the upcoming celebration.

Thank you, good luck, and fair seas.

Thanks for sharing. Well this is something, the least they can do.. Though I'm happy to get my money back, I won't spend any dime more on this fraudulent sh*t. Sick of this behaviour, I'm pretty done with it. Which is a shame cause I like(d) WoT and WoWS.

Brilliant, I'll happily part ways with my Makarov, California and Duca in exchange for the £70 worth of containers I bought, plus the 8,000 dubloons I spent in game on other crates.

And I also won't be buying anything again.

Well, they've happily flushed WoT down the toilet and unfortunately, it seems they intend to do so with WoWS aswell. Indeed a shame, because in the core it's actually a pretty playable, decent game.

That seems fair. I'm not going to use the refund option as i got the containers mainly for special flags(plus i got an Ochakov too).
I hope next year WG are going to learn their lesson and put the ship shortlists in the box announcement article, so people know what they are buying. And if they don't do that, well... i guess we are going to have to wait for few brave souls to "take one for the team" by buying blind and posting the results.

Cant remember the Nurnburg but one of the good feature of the Makarov are the guns.

They can rotate 360, therefore are easy to put on target and to switch from one side to the other.

As I said is a Tier VI CL that require to be aware of what's around you. i prefer it to the equivalent Jap line.

At least has a faster reload and Germa HE hurts.

Why WG?

Why didn't you just make every 107 ships available for dropping as advertised in the first place, without this 'secret' shortlist? Give the more unique ships a lower droprate? Would have saved a lot of trouble and unhappy customers...? Well, guess you had reasons for it... :Smile_coin:

You know what would be a generous christmas spirit-ish compensation:cap_happy: ???? Give every duped customer his money back + 50 mega containers free of charge! That would make a santa-ish gesture which we all deserve... IMHO :cap_horn::cap_like::cap_happy:

I was one of the lucky ones not to buy any Santa crates having been tipped off by Flamu. However, I believe the playerbase is being far too kind to WG here. Sure, it's nice to get the refund, and that's welcome. But the attitude that "well, it's always been that way, so we don't bother to tell you that anymore" doesn't sit well with me. Let's have an apology and demand that the advertising for these crates be IMMEDIATELY amended to reflect the actual position. The current advertising for these crates continues to say that one has a random chance of dropping a premium ship from the supplied list. One doesn't. It's rigged. Plain and simple. Fix it WG. Stop faffing around and sort it.

Treat the people who pay your wages with some respect. Oh, and by the way, when you're caught out, put your hand up, admit it, change it, undertake not to do it again, and keep to that.
