WG rolled back my account and refunded all my Santa crates. In addition they gave me 10 super-containers by way of an apology.

Yahagi, Ashitaka, Marblehead, Texas, Molotov, Leningrad, Cossack, Siroco, Aigle and Genova.

I still think they should have disclosed the contents better but I'm pleased they manned-up and offered everybody refunds. The super-containers were a surprise too.

Thank you WG.

Good for you that you received supercontainers. how many and which package(s) you bought? I got only the middle finger for two packages, not an apology. :Smile_facepalm:

Exactly. A more promising sign would be an organised boycott of a major event. Just to let WG know that players won't just shrug their shoulders at this garbage. Unfortunately, I don't think that likely so I intend to play down my 3 months premium time and make a serious attempt at going free to play for a while. See how it goes.

What better organized boycott you could see but the chat storm during the weekend streams. Verizon must be exacting to work with WoWs in future. Extremely embarrassing for WG.

I meant one where people don't spend money on items. But contacting companies that are working with WG and telling them exactly what type of company they're getting into bed with would also help. Losing some of those collaborations might hurt them.

We should all put pressure on these scammers by reporting WG for illegal gambling to the EU or inside your own country. After it gets condemned for trying to still money from kids with a casino disguised as a game, it should be condemned again for being a casino where you actually get scammed. I think a couple of countries in EU already banned crates.

We should all go to websites like the one in the link below and make a complain. We must stop thieves from stealing money from kids by alluring them with promises of pixels and still manage to lie in the process.

This is not about a game. It just happens that this is one is of the worst scammer. It's about an entire industry. It's no different that modern slavery, racism or other financial crimes.

There's the Puerto Rico, these gambling scams with crates, there's plenty of stuff to complain about, including extreme rng bullying. Remember that they publicly said they been doing this scam for quite a while!

Try this link, find another link or complain in your own country. We can make a difference and stop child abusers, racists, fraudulent politicians, domestic violence and WG scams to steal money from kids. Ask why WG scams kids in popular platforms like Quora. Spread the word. Share the scams in social media. Make sure everybody knows about it, we can't let the criminals get away with it!

https://europa.eu/youreurope/business/dealing-with-customers/solving-disputes/european-small-claims-procedure/index_en.htm#shortcut-1

I'm not sure if this is the right one but if it's wrong, the right link should be somewhere around that site.

I guess no weekend in WoWs for me. I asked for rollback and still noone even bothers to answer my ticket. As it will be lost anyway, they are forcing me not to play. Oh well. Thank you - you helped me to choose Cyberpunk.

I did choose this option on thurdsday evening and am still waiting for response. Had 3 purchases which i want to refund and a gift from a friend which should be available for reopening (he did not ask for refund). Noone has replied, so faster does not mean fast...

Ok. So they rollbacked my account, send back 3 purchases that I have made myself and requested, but the gift from my friend is gone (I have received 20 large containers). It would be fair and square to credit me back those containers or give him his money back... Funny thing it is after midnight already and he can not even ask for refund, because it took you 52 hours to solve my ticket... Aces :(

I ask for refund and i got this :

"Hello GOUNl,

Thank you for contacting the Wargaming Player Support.

I understand the situation you are in and can assure you that we are here to help you.

I understand your dissatisfaction I am happy to inform you that we are looking into this issue, and we will  come back to you with a proper answer as soon as possible.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

I wish you a wonderful day and fair seas !

Kind regards,"

I also sent a request to the "Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control department" of my country, just to see what they have to say about this matter (fake and misleading advertisement)

The Anti-fraud department answered me that, as Wargaming Group Limited is based in Cyprus, they can not intervene directly but, the European Consumer Center can and is competent for such request. ( https://www.europe-consommateurs.eu/en/requests/ ). So they ask me to contact this service if I want to continue the process.

Now, since they offered to everybody a friendly solution (to be refund), I do not know if it's still legit. But if it can prevent for future scam like this why not.

Yes, it's still legit.

They offered a friendly solution - to the fraction of the playerbase that watches CCs, reads Forum etc. A player that doesn't engage in broadly understood community activity gets scammed and can't even realize that this is happening. I mean, take a random player that sees the ships and tries to gamble.

He might get nothing - and this wouldn't mean he got cheated out of, say, 10 boxes. He could've been just unlucky.

He might get two shortlisted ships and nothing else. He would think he got lucky to get a ship, just not enough for one of the nice ones he wished for - again, on individual level there's no way to detect the fraud.

It's only once MANY players start putting their stats together, and then some people who live off talking about the game (the most popular CCs) pull some costly tests on the stream as a bit of an investment... only then is it possible to detect the... irregularities, let's call them. So as long as you have the drive to actually go through with it, you probably should. That being said, I'm talking from a position of a hypocrite that just doesn't care enough to go through the hassle... I'm not invested enough (and have not invested enough :Smile-_tongue: ) into the game to get the motivation. Which is, btw, precisely what WG hopes for. Their "friendly solution" is meant to placate the most actively invested people, if not enough for them to stop being angry, then at least enough to stop them from seeking legal ways to act on that anger (that plus IF people end up reporting them and the case goes anywhere, the friendly solution might actually be an argument for lower penalties).

What Wargaming isn't telling you: The ships in the list do not all have the same chance of dropping.

Yeah, I got Makarov from a container that I got after winning a battle with a lv 10 ship. Then I read that it was the most won ship this Christmas.

In game news today: Don't miss your chance to get a rare Premium or Tier IX ship!

Don't make me laugh WG. I have 95 or so premium ships already with a zero percent chance of getting anything but a Makarov if I even got a ship at all. I just watched a video of someone opening 60 Big Santa containers from 4 days ago and they didn't even get a single ship. Not even that heap of junk Makarov.

Why in the world would you think myself or anyone else would waste our money on these scam crates, especially after you've been exposed?

The only way I'd ever spend money on WoWs containers again is if I knew for a fact that ship drops were truly random with a realistic expectation of actually getting a ship and not one of the many crap premiums that you release every year to make players waste their money either buying them first or spending even more money on premium containers just to have the slightest chance of actually getting a halfway decent ship.

Oh! A reminder article for the boxes? And still no mention of the shortlist ships you have to get before a "chance for a rare ship"? Fantastic!
Santa's containers: A time to get scammed!

Btw, thanks for the California that dropped from my free armory random bundle "big gift" box WG. Beautiful ship and a Pearl survivor. Too bad it is so underpowered in game.

I opened more than 30 of the Gift containers I got from playing my T10's and mostly only got normal camos and signals and hardly any at that. The rewards just keep getting worse and worse every year
