French Tier VIII battleship Flandre, German Tier X aircraft carrier Max Immelmann and American Tier X cruiser Austin are added for testing

French battleship Flandre, Tier VIII

A variant of the Alsace-class battleship with 380-mm guns in three three-gun turrets and adjusted AA guns composition. The ship has good survivability, effective AA defense, and better main caliber accuracy than that of Alsace. 

German aircraft carrier Max Immelmann, Tier X

A project of a heavy aircraft carrier based on the class "H" battleship's hull. Big, well-armored ship with strong AA.

The ship is an analogue of Manfred von Richthofen, but has a different composition of AA guns and carries skip bombers with HE bombs instead of torpedo bombers.

American cruiser Austin, Tier X

A project of a light cruiser (CL-154), developed at the end of World War II. The main armament is represented with the newest 127-mm universal twin guns in 6 turrets. Torpedo armament consists of 2 five-tube launchers. 

Austin may fire HE or SAP shells, and though its "Main Battery Reload Booster" consumable has only 1 charge, it lowers reload time by 75% instead of the standard 50%. The ship has effective AA, additionally enhanced by "Defensive AA Fire" in a separate slot from "Hydroacoustic search".

AA defense: 6x2 40.0 mm, 6x2 20.0 mm, 14x2 100.0 mm, 3x3 152.0 mm.
AA defense short-range: continuous damage per second - 74, hit probability - 70 %, action zone 0.1-2.0 km;
AA defense mid-range: continuous damage per second - 116, hit probability - 75 %, action zone 0.1-3.5 km;

So basically an Alsace with Musashi treatment, a german CV and a new-Atlanta at TX so you can buy it again! Oh and now with SAP so it doesn't just efffs DDs in the [edited]but also cracks open the open wound!

I like the sound of Flandre.  Although what I really wanted was the French BB study with 406 mm guns at Tier IX....

 

Austin (original design study below) looks interesting, but what's with an 8 second reload on DD guns? Those guns can turn 360 degrees between salvos. Can we have a Disco ball camouflage for it with mirrored turrets?

yep, nor attempt to eliminate troubles with CVs, but WG pushes into the game a lot of T-X ships with gimmicks... [edited] :(

This seems more and more desperate for me, announcing new premium ships in almost every week now since months......feels like an unpopular game trying to milk his playerbase much as possible as some last grasp.

That way you can play Alsace when playing Alsace when playing Alsace.

 

With success of ARP Yamato we will see splurge of purchasable T10s. Austin on other hand... would be interesting tier 7 ship, not T10. Now with 8s reload and "ermagad SAP" that hits for less than CA HE shells

Just gonna copy my naswer from the dev blog thread because I have to let off some steam:

I have been reacting to new ship announcements for quite some time with either disappointment or ridicule (or both). This time, I am just outright angry. AGAIN only high tier ships and AGAIN only paper ships and AGAIN gimmicks. WG more and more giving up any pretence of the "historical" aspect of their game. I am livid. :etc_swear:

A mechanic to completly bypass the AA: check

Another ship specifically designed to "assert dominance" over DD's: check

 

I think we should consider starting a lawsuit against wargaming for the deliberate use of planned obsolescene on the products we bought.

I was once in a battle against this CV, he was trying to hit me with skip bombs, you could see them miles away and turn easy, I am not sure how are they going to hit anything with them, they skip like 3 or 4 times.

This is true, unless you are locked in a position where you can't turn eaisly.

AND the CV drops those with no risk, or cost other than time it takes to fly up to your position so he can keep doing it until he eventually hits.
