Toxic player on Co-op battle.

Hi, i'm  a new player and i've witnessed something toxic.

In Co-op battle, i've been using Königsberg, and some toxic Émile Bertin was with me, and destroying  enemy CV and i got the kill. Because he ain't got the kill, he starts, swearing me so hard and fired me 5 torpedoes and all of them struck on my ship.

What's wrong with these people? I hate online games because of these kind of players.

I wish i have screenshot.

Also, is there any replays on this game? I think i should post it to show how toxic that player was.

It should be in the replays folder.

But don't post it here, take it up with CS.

I don't know how to view the replay files as well. How to replay them on Steam version?

Don't use the steam version so no idea, sorry. Maybe someone else can help you with that.

Such events are not rare. A lot of players blame others for their own incompetence and fire at you because bots are too difficult to hit and islands do not burn or sink.

Whilst co-op is friendlier than randoms, it does contain its share of...unpleasant people. Just locate the game on your hard drive, find a folder marked 'Replays), and it should be there. There may be several folders, so check the dates to see which is the right replay (WG seem to change the default folder each update).

Sorry to hear about that idiot. I would actually say that kind of behaviour, in co-op, is pretty rare, but not unheard of - I've only had it a few times in the thousands of co-op matches that I've played.

I had someone, of rank 1, again in an Emile Bertin, fire more than one salvo at me, in Guépard . No torps, but enough for him to turn pink.

The Steam version of WoWS is usually located in

C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/World of Warships

and there will be a replays folder in there.

IIRC Steam and/or WoWS does not register a file association for the .wowsreplay files, so you'll need to do it yourself.

Locate one of the replay files and right click, select "Open with ..."

Select "More apps" and select "Look for another app on this PC"

Browse back into C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/World of Warships  and select WorldOfWarships.exe

You should then be able to re-watch a match by double-clicking on a .wowsreplay file - though Steam tends to throw up a message box before executing WorldOfWarships.exe

My replays folder is \Steam\steamapps\common\World of Warships\replays and that should be the default location.

In theory you can double-click on a replay file in Windows and choose to open it with WorldOfWarships.exe

In practice the Steam client is unreliable at doing this. It usually works with no issues if you move the replay file to the same folder as the .exe file first. Viewing the file you can make a note of the player's name, take screenshots, etc.

Raise a ticket with Customer Support and attach the replay. Intentional team killing damage, abuse and harassment in chat, are all EULA violations. https://eu.wargaming.net/support/en/products/wows/help

Spectacular insufficiency in the priapic department, I imagine.

On the positive side, WOWS appears to be a lot less bad than many games in this respect. If you want more sociable folk to play with, I'd suggest joining a clan - if you're in a division, you've reduced the number of idiots in the game almost by definition.

Or just forget about people like that and move on. It is simply wasted energy.

Besides, if you get hurt by something like this already.... oh boy. Welcome to online games i guess?

I'm new on online games. I've never witnessed something like this before. What's the point of swearing? Why do people swearing someone that they didn't know so hard? If online games are like that, i'll be quit soon.

Welcome to the internet. The place of dunning kruger and hippcrisy. Also if you were genuinely hurt like this, then it's not gonna be easy for you. You need to grow some thicker skin.

I'll be honest, it really hurted me. So, there's a lot of people like that you mean. I've playing this game about 3 weeks because, i've very interested about WW2 ships and this made me play this game. Never seen something like this until the my 400th match in this game.

I don't like insult person or getting insulted by another person. It really hurts me by some reason. Maybe it's because i'm kind and shy person in real life.

Wows is a relatively calm game compared to most but yes, people are mean on the internet. I just make fun of them or insult them back in a more entertaining way (usually). Try wot or counterstrike lel. Now those arr toxic. Hell....don't even attempt to play runescape or you'll get the tinderbox scammed out of you. I'll never understand how people can genuinely get hurt by stuff like this but if what you said is true, then the only thing you can do if you want to keep playing this game is google wows modstation and search for a mod tha disables the chat permanently. Then, you won't have to deal with anyone being an annoyance. Unless they decide to torp you, but that is punishable so....reports are always an option.

Hey OP, it's great that you're enjoying the game so far and participating in the community. I hope you stay and continue to play and have fun.

It's important to remember to treat everybody with dignity and respect, and especially important to remember that when dealing with players who treat you badly. Don't sink to their level. The Forums here, and Reddit, have rules designed to protect individuals, promote positive engagement and discourage topics and posts that are just negative. So while it was fine to ask for help on this topic it was a rude surprise to see a video capture of your replay showing the incident for everyone to see, before Reddit mods took down that particular post. I hope you understand why that was a bad thing to do.

So I'm going to be honest. Whether a player has good stats or crap stats, team killing actions and what that player wrote in chat is inexcusable, and violates the game's rules. I'm sorry you had that happen to you.

Other people have described the odd occasion where it's happened to them; it's happened to me as well from a similar sort of player, though without the insults I suspect because of an existing chat-ban. It is rare. It's very rare; for me that was one battle in 5,000. It will be very rare for you as well. Don't for one minute let one bad player interaction dampen your enthusiasm for the game. Everyone has the same equal right to play the game regardless of whether they are competitive or casual, or skill level.

Other people have made the point that World of Warships is a comparatively benign community, and while I have to yet to experience a truly toxic internet gaming community I find it shocking when any sailor acts that way. For that reason I don't tolerate it. I think turning the other cheek, blacklisting and moving on, growing a thicker skin, etc, all adds up to us being conditioned to tolerate toxic behaviour that does not treat us with dignity, let alone respect. There are in-game reports for teamkilling and chat abuse: use them. Maybe Wargaming will do something with them. For serious example save the replay and raise a ticket. Don't let the haters get inside your head. An anonymous person on the internet is a nobody to you, their opinions are only worth the value you assign to them, so why value the opinions of bigots and idiots?

Be positive. Be kind. In-game your actions can make a real difference. In co-op use F10 to wish everyone Good Luck when the match starts. F12 to Thank You to the person who said it first. F11 to congratulate a player for a skillful play. Send a compliment afterwards. Send several, you have loads and it costs you nothing.

As suggested if you deem it excessive send the rep file via a customer support ticket and the guy will get some cooling time from chat usage, on other notion maybe you should just torn the battle chat off if you are as sensitive to insults as you seem to be...

Why? It's just a stranger on the internet venting his own frustrations on your pixel boat. They don't know you. So every insult will be either speculative or generic.

Think about it like this: each time someone on the internet rages at you, it shows their weakness. Perhaps they had a bad day, perhaps they're a aggressive person, perhaps they just seek someone to verbally fight with. Whatever you do, do not take anything personal.

If I had to go through the effort of reporting each player that called me names I wouldn't have been able to reach 10.000 games in Wows. I just forget and move on. The game is a lot of fun, don't let a few bad apples ruin that for you. Because if you let that happen, "they" have won.

Welcome to the game :D

If you really cannot stand the messages, you should just disable them (the option is somewhere in Controls I think, 'enable battle communications')

Will not prevent direct messages but these are far less common.

But yeah, better get a bit less sensitive about that, no need to get worried about random venting.

That's stupid, and unlucky too. I don't think it often happens at Co-op battles. Don't try to chat with him or any toxic player, they will always try to have the last word and will keep on raging mostly. Ignore them and report them, right click his name on the scoreboard and choose one of the options. Also click block player so he can't chat to you anymore, not in the game and also not via personal messages in port, and not in any future battle in which he maybe is in too. Hopefully he will get enough report and negative karma and teamkilling so he will get heavy penalties like temporary or full account suspended. If people are toxic it's not fun but unfortunately happens in all online games (more in FPS games in general so far I've noticed), but being toxic in Co-op against bots? then they are even more real losers. How deep can one person sink....

I play a considerable amount of co-op battles, and I'd say the amount of upset people raging is considerably less than in randoms. Sure it happens occasionally. Just report/ignore/blacklist the player. IMO it's kinda sad to get all worked up in a co-op battle. Fortunately most co-op battles are pretty relaxed. Certainly less yelling and complaining compared to random battles :P

Thanks. I have replay file and recorded where the insults and team killing occurs. Should i post it to WG?

If you "need" an semi-automatic answer from WG with the typical customer support standard phrases (like "sorry to hear about your experience") than yes..

Or get real...

Do what others suggested: Rightclick the offender's name and report for bad chat. Rightclick again and click to block ingame messages.

Don't try to argue with the idiot because he will not understand because he's an idiot. It's like trying to teach a horse how to build a marslander, it will never work.

Coop is usually more laid back, but I've had some more toxicity in coop as well. I presume due to WG making missions tighter with relatively fewer rewards, people are trying to grind them in coop white burning themselves out, without them even noticing. When there's no such event going on, battles tend to be much more relaxed.

I once lost karma when I got kraken unleached. I mean wth?

Yesterday I was playing Tears of the Desert and not one but 2 people started with the pingspam and "BB NO SUPPORT" when the battle was like 2 1/2 minutes old.

I can understand people wanting to complain (even if it's unrealistic) but BBs are not F1 racing cars.

I spend most of my free time with different games now (mostly games that have better PvE). I don't enjoy this game that much anymore but at least thew chatban system seems to be working pretty well or it would have been just like WoT.
