Thats totally wrong though, so kind of destroys the credibility behind everything else you wrote. Lost track of kills from firing torps outside the 10km and having them meet my torps.

Really? "virtually nil"? You playing the same game as me, or are you just being an elitist [edited]?

 

Cmon son, you have a 7% Hit rate, cant be that hard to count. You might want to curtail the claim making when we can all look up the objective data.

Really? "virtually nil"? You playing the same game as me, or are you just being an elitist [edited]?

 

Thus, the chance is not nil for 10km launches... especially against more experienced players, the number of long range hits, pummels down fast. In Minekaze this is not so dominant, because you are still in the 'noob'-zone... where many and more clueless and inexperienced players are driving their T4 ships.

So, don't be that harsh with your statement.

Yea, I only used 10KM in the CBT, so effectively I am playing a completely different game as the skill level has tanked off a cliff in OBT and in CBT you would often be in higher tier matches. In CBT it was very difficult to hit anyone at maximum range of 10KM, it was basically a complete hail mary.

 

That said only 7% HR in OBT shows it is still pretty difficult, would be interested to see what % of the 7% were actually fired at maximum range.

My 2 pennies worth.

 

I agree with snipershot in that the 10km torps allow area denial and predicted /guessed shots. This is a very important destroyer role IF YOU WANT to play that way.

 

Mind you 19% torp hit rate! Blimey! Well done! (Keulz was it? Congrats!)

Its not me making totally redundant statements like "virtually nil" in an effort to make what you consider a 'valid' statement.

7%.. So i shoot a lot of torps? So im constantly littering channels and choke points just in case. I dont play torps '1 torp, 1 kill', i spam the crap out them. But that doesnt make me a potato player. Because im more than capable of torping a dd at 2km, or a cruiser at 3km. 

Im not even claiming that im good at the game. All i WAS saying is that IM having more fun with 10km>7km. Because, the earlier exposure time increases the risk factor versus the reward, especially so when in higher teir(t7-t8) games.

 

What i really dont like, are the disparaging remarks coming from the '7km ARE GOD, PEOPLE WHO USE 10km ARE POTATOS' crowd(like your "virtually nil comment"). Im not a forum troll, i read much more than i post, and it has to be something provocative to make me actually bother posting.

Why fighting? I really think, it is clear, that Minekaze supports both choices of torps equally.

Quotes or it didn't happen. And about hitratio, yes 10% - 15% seems to be high. Outside sealclubbing, expect stats to plummet.

 

That being said, it's possible that the 10k ones work for you personally. However, you seem to be one fo the very few. Alot of people who have more experience then you, tend to have better results with the 7k torps. That is all people are saying. Your stats are meaningless over just 50 ish battles in limited tiers.

It really depends on your play style as well.

 

Long range BB sniper, 10km slower torps can work for you and you will never be spotted.

 

If you like to ambush cruisers and BB alike with your maneuvering skills and map knowledge as well, 7km fast torps are fantastic for that.

"50 ish battles in limited tiers"(99 minekaze open beta games)? 650+ games in cbt not enough "experience"? Only games in open beta count as "experience"?

At least if youre going to use numbers make them factual.

Looked like a win at first.. but at the end.. they throw it away on the other side and i got destroyed later one by a lucky hit of a phoenix..

160k Dmg in Torps  sunk 3 Battleships and 2 Carrier

The 10km torps were removed because WG found the Minekaze OP, based on statistics so far.  Happy to relate that most of the people I know who are good in it only ever used the 7km range torps anyway since they are faster.

I just hate the minekaze, I have a fire range of 7 Km and the torps has no effect

Always died in seconds, my team does not respond, ship is worthless in battles with tier 5 and higher, cause they have higher fire range than me.

I think he verry out of balance
