Hi all,

How is your "TimeTable" for obtaining "Coal" ships via "Armory"...

My "TimeTable" is quite regular one and it shows 3 top "Coal" ships per year:

2020.10.25. "Georgia"

2020.07.05. "Salem"

2020.02.15. "Thunderer"

2019.10.27. "Smolensk"

2019.07.09. "Yoshino"

2019.01.13. "Jean Bart"

2018.12.30. "Charleston"

I am now collecting "Coal" for "Pommern" (the "Marceau" is not my current choice) ... :Smile_great:

Leo "Apolo11"

P.S.

Fellow Forumites reminded me that I did buy the "Jean Bart" and the "Charleston" as well... I forgot about them... :Smile_hiding:

I unfortunately don't have any data before 24/3/20. I'm not sure why. Wows-numbers says i purchased all my ships on that date!

I do have all coal ships but the Salem I have Des moines)and I'm looking forward to buying another one after Christmas.

Vampire, Z-44 or Plymouth could be coal so I'm looking at how these ships develop.

Vampire looks the most interesting so far.

My time table is to go for ships that I'm interested in. Since that goes down the more ships I already own, there's no particular coal ship I'm currently interested in (maybe Marceau) ... so overall: Gather coal, let it sit until one day a ship comes around that piques my interest.

Coal ships I own: Georgia, Smolensk, Thunderer (Alaska was FXP, right?)

Bought Kuznetsov this year with Coal, which is basicly one ship. Also bought Blyska for coal to not get it from the T7 premium kots container.

Not currently have access to my date on history but I am quite mathematical in my approach on getting ships from “ free currency” including coal.

Main rule:

1. Buy old ships first ( old ships might get removed first by WG and complete collection > preferred ship) to some account

2. Use the 2 coupons each year on the most expensive ship you plan to buy. With steel ship takes higher priority over coal.

3. Buy admiral when you used your coupon already and the remaining ships are all relatively young.

Remaining coal ships Yoshino, Pommern. Remaining captains: Lutjens.

Purchase record:

( top most recent)

Marceau ( for the extra SC snowflake crate during anniversary event)

Bourgogne ( with coupon, not coal but took the coupon and thus i spent most coal on admirals since they never come with a discount)

Admiral Cunningham

Admiral Kutnetzov

2019

Blyskawica ( purchased when available for coal to prevent it from dropping from Xmas crates)

Thunderer ( dec 2019 coupon )

Smolensk ( coupon early 2019)

Georgia

JB

Salem

Moskwa and Kirov where not purchased for coal. Okt. Rev and Aigle were obtained through other means. Other small fry either already had or purchased along.

Currently 60k coal, around 40k a month expect another 60k from dec 2020 snowflakes. Will be able to buy Yoshino around Xmas 2020 with new coupon since that ship is getting old... Afterwards will buy Flint when available ( to prevent it from dropping from my KOTS container). Then Pommern before Black and Neustrashimy but then we are talking second half 2021 and who knows...

Georgia 24.06.2019 (i don't actually remember the exact day but it was around the 24th)

Jean Bart 06.03.2020 (launch-day anniversary)

I'm planning on getting Октыабрскаыа Револутсиыа this Christmas, so i don't use much coal; saving up coal for (hopefully) Marco Polo.

I'm currently at 234k coal, calculated that i should reach around 300k at Christmas.

I have all the coal ships, except 3: Yoshino, Georgia or Charleston (T3, so out of discussion). I am going to buy either Georgia or Yoshino when they will be removed from shop, which I expect to happen sometime soon. I hope they will not be both removed at the same time. I have arround 140k coal and in December I ll get a coupon resources to buy one of them, the one that is retired first.

I have all the steel ships in armory now, except Shikishima and FDR, but right now I am not interested in any of them, even if I have 18k steel. Maybe I ll buy Shikishima if I gather enough steel and no other ship for steel appears.  I am not buying FDR ever.

I have similar "philosophy" as well.. :Smile_honoring:

I also always use the "Resource" OFF "Coupon" for XMas / New Year for "Steel" ship (last year I finally got the Stalingrad" - this year I will get "Bourgogne"). The other "Resource" OFF "Coupon" is used during the summer... :Smile_coin:

wowsnumbers only tracks such events if someone (possibly you) tell it to track your account. they cannot get the dates from before that moment.

Salem, (11/2018)
Yoshino,
Smolensk
Jean Bart
Marceau
Thunderer

I generally use my coupons for steel if i can, got 3 steels now, so only used 2 coupons on coal ships i think, have 128k coal now so im well on my way towards another one, probably will be the pommern or just wait for another tier X

I try not to obtain any kind of resource ships without a coupon, which would mean to waste a great deal of in-game currency ground out over extended periods of time. I only d eviate from this rule for completely OP ships such as Smolensk or Stalin, to get in on the fun before WG nerfs them to death.

Certainly not gonna do that for any of the current offers, especially since I promised myself to go through with the Satan Lootbox boycot this year (so no need to fill the port in an attempt to force toxic-ship drops.)

I might be tempted if they offered Mainz for coal, or some really evil Tier VIII AA monster.

I don't have any dates.

I bought Georgia, which took some getting used to and is secondary build.

I bought Smolensk, which is just a fun ship to play, glad I bought it instead of Jean Bart.

Last, I bought Thunderer... meh, whatever. Ship is accurate, great AP, can't win a single battle with it, not much fun.

Have 130k coal and nothing I want to get. Maybe Kuznetsov.

Only a few coal ships got my attention.

I got Yoshino, then Smolensk and then Jean Bart before it was removed from the armory...

Now I'm approching 200k coal again and hope that some of the previewed ships will be for coal, if not, I may spend my coal on a legendary commander ...

10/12/2018 - Musashi

07/07/2019 - Jean Bart

25/09/2019 - Murmansk (is that a coal ship?)

31/12/2019 - Georgia

(Didn't play quite so much here)

14/09/2020 - Thunderer

Think I'll go for Salem next or Marceau, coal-wise.

Mine is as follows:

  • 18/09/19 Salem (I reset the USN CL line in rage but still needed an American TX cruiser for Halsey's campaign)
  • 11/09/20 Thunderer (with coupon, partially because of the rumours of dropping out of the armory)
  • 30/09/20 Yoshino (just to get an extra container, which turned out to provide more doubloons so I ended up with a positive net flow -other containers had already compensated the 3k spent on a booster for Anchorage).

I haven't listed Błyskawica (21/09/20) because I don't remember right now how I got her, it could be from a container. As for my other coal ships, I know for sure they either dropped from a SC or were event rewards.

Salute.

I tend to get a "big ticket item" roughly every 6-8 months.

This time around I'll be getting myself a legendary commander though, seeing as WG is introducing the ability for you to have a different skill set for each of the 4 classes.
Gonna be Günther Lütjens this time around (even though I really want the Marceau), since I'll be able to use him for a future Z-52, Hindenburg and GK (got no interest in MVR) and his improved skills/traits seem to work well for all 4.

Wait, though.  Is one commander going to be able to captain four classes without respecializing? Sounds implausible...

Yes it seems to be the case since each type has its own distinct set of capabilities. But you can only use it on one silver main ship, the captain is still fixed to one silver ship max. So Lutjens will be placed on Hindenburg, and will be usable on any premium other ship. His cruiser spec ( the Hindenburg one) for cruisers, his DD spec on al dd’s, etc. But you cannot use his BB spec on a Bismarck then..only  premiums like Tirpitz or Odin.

So the benefit of having a special commander and having premiums of all four classes will be beneficial. 21 points of Kuznetsov sailing Kremlin, Slava, Lenin, Stalingrad, Bagration Neustrashimy and that Soviet supercarrier that’s around to be released:Smile_trollface: .
