i still came back with all the crap thats going on in this game but ...

After playing with Subs in randoms for the first time  I think I’m done for good

this is so anti fun ... this just feels no fun anymore ... its not even frustrating like playing vs CV's if there is a sub on my side i just wanna ALT+F4 the game and get the afk punishment ... its just so anti fun

To be honest WG , I think all negative comments about submarines will cease when you let them spawn right next to the enemy CV ! :Smile_glasses:

Thanks for kicking me out of the game imposing the submarines, it is impossible to play with submarines, games of 4 destroyers plus 2 submarines plus an aircraft carrier, if you are a cruiser or a battleship you know that you are not going to do anything, but hey there were too many people in the game, WG He wanted to kick the players out and that's what he's going to get.

Subs are disgusting for randoms,they are just anti fun.They are forcing all players to sit back.Homing torps are also annoying.You are about to screw the game.

DONT ADD SUBS TO RANDOMS.DONT!

Seriously WG how disconnect are you? i have played this game for over 5 years and have enjoyed a lot of it. the last 12 months not so much due to the fact that you insist on ramming subs down our throats. I have played a few games and they are just so dull, I mean like a family meal at your weird aunts dull. I get you want to add more to the game but this as a player base isnt what we wanted. It creates a sniping from far meta, seems a bit odd to add subs to Randoms and release a brawling BB line at the same time. The homing torps are just monumentally stupid and just create a frustration on the receiving end. People would be a lot more understanding if you just went "hey guys we decided that after various tests subs just dont fit the style of the game we're aiming for but here's its own game mode for those that want it" I suppose I should thank you for making sure that I don't spend any more money on this game especially with Christmas coming up and I know how much you love to sell your Containers around then. You've made it so much easier to just say no. 

 

If you want to sort this out for the love of god sort the homing torpedoes out. they need to stop far sooner than they do right now as they're just too fast including the homing aspect.

esecially as a cruiser with not much HP like on T5-T8 if u get pinged and torpedos come u NEED to use R and then a few sec he just pings u again shoots again and u WILL just explode ... there is ZERO counterplay to this

you WILL see the sub under water 7km away and you can do NOTHING to not die ... no unicum in the world can prevent to die there, the only way is to stay back and not play the game with closer ranges then 15km ....

homing torpedos makes me so angry ... its basicly feels like cheating ... its an aimbot ... give me homing guns on my yamato please ... in ww2 they had no torpedos going 90° turns guys ... cause ... physics and stuff ...

 

also WHY ON EARTH is hydro not detecting subs ? i mean it detects torpedos ...

There is a lot counterplay. But if a cruiser is already in a bad situation, then he might be not able to survive. So it really depends. Like a cruiser, that shows full broadside to a BB. There might be also no counter play, when you are already in that situation. I actually think, that you can 100% dodge always all torpedos, but you have to be a bot, to calculate the timings etc. For a human, it might be too dificult, since we make errors.

 

I wouldn't also sit around next to a submarine at 7km, that's a very good range for a submarine to torp enemies effectively and cruisers are imo "countered" by submarines. Similar to BB vs cruisers.

 

You say, it feels like cheating, but you might should look at the relations. Those torps do overall not much damage, and increase in damage only in specific conditions. While these torpedos have some advantage, they also got a lot disadvantages and that balances them. You need to consider, that submarines need to do some damage at some point, and they only have torpedos, no main guns.

If you want that on Yamato, too, the yamato guns would get first a lot nerfs, before you get the homing. The damage would be lowered to around ~5k max damage. You wouldn't be able to hit the citadell, unless you did something similar then a double sonar ping, etc.

 

90° is not possible, as far as I know. Rather something around 45°-60° I would assume.

 

Hydro detects submarines on Surface, Periscope depth and Operating depth. Not on maximum depth. Torpedos are rather on surface/periscope depth btw. And as far I know, that is even realistic, then Hydro can have issues with depth, because of thermal layers in the water.

Dear @Pikkozoikum, after our earlier discssions and reading this, i am seriously wondering how you are thinking.

 

Sure its possible to dodge, but like with CVs the gameplay becomes even more tedious, more stagnant. Its apalling to sit for 5 minutes and wait for a submarine to run out of battery. Or be pinged by two at the same time. My last game yesterday was the dumbest game I had in my 20 000+ battles. Spending 90% of my time waiting for a sub to surface at 2-3km next to me.

 

I got off one salvo when he surfaced, before he dived and moved past the mountain to his own teams side. 

 

Best player on our team was me. Most frustrated player on our team was me.

T4 games have been full of experienced players since yesterday, despite the omnipresent double griefer plague. If you need more proof that suckmarines are generally hated in random battles... then you are shill or a fanboy.

I just don't go the rant. The thing is, there are more people misinformed, than people are informed. Just today I read about, how stealthy submarines attacks are, while the "stealthy Shima" has 3 km detection torpedos.

If I read stuff like that, I'm really not wondering, how some people have some specific opinions ^^

Let me tell you about my experience today; I was in Petro, I pushed the cap, I was beating the cr*p out of everyone, I had hydro on, I played by the book. And then, sub pinged me. I could not detect him. I DCP'd, as the WG has told me to do. I had a div mate in Shima trying to hunt him, but that litle sh*t was so stealthy he had 0 chance of finding him. Ok, fine. I started reversing, but BOOM, ten seconds later, another ping and 6 torps slammed into my nose, instantly killing me. Sub was spotted for a sec, I dropped my plane on him and got 3 depth charge hits.

 

No mate, you do not rant, you are just biased. I guess you are fun of sniping BBs, amirite?

 

EDIT: next time, first thing you should say you are a CV player before you waste anyone's time.

When did you use your dcp? You couldn't safe it for the 6 torps? When I play submarines, I get most good hits on ships, who misplay heavily. Once a Stalin even dcped my double ping, when I didn't even shot a single torpedo. Just as an example.

Right, I don't rant, though in what way I'm biased, if I just talk about the mechanics? I can't agree on 3km detection torps from Shima, I'm not biased, just because I disagree. Or when I disagree with false information.

What do you mean with sniping BBs? Submarines are bad against BBs.

WTF is this with homing torps, can my BB have them too to aim them on a DD?

 

You fix secondary (sort of) and now pushing becomes impossible with the homing torps?

Dude. Do you even understand what are you talking about? How can a Stalin know if you fired torps or not? Even if he waited till they got proxy spotted, there's a good chance (if he was going slowly nose in) that he would not be able to avoid them. In the example I gave you, I repaired that ping after considering the torps are on the way? Tell me mr. Pro, how could I counter it when ping reloads around 4 times faster than a DCP. That guy pinged me, launched torps, i DCP'd, he pinged me again.

 

The only way you can counter sub's torps is if you are at FULL speed and DCP at the right moment, otherwise you are done. And pls do not imply i made a misplay, I rarely make mistakes in this game. There was no chance of me knowing where the sub was. Entire class sh*ts on pushing cruisers and BBs, and you talk about misinformation.... man....

 

Also, did you know Stalin and other surface ships can burn like a crisp, and the main counter to that is - brace yourself - a DCP.

Dunno how tinfoil-hat stuff this is, but how to make subs seem popular?

By making a spike in random battles right after the patch release.

800 base-exp? not likely in coop.

 

grind base-exp in ops? don't even think about it! not allowed!

choices left are random and ranked.

Well step right up and fabricate  stats-data that random battles are even more popular with subs added.

It will work too, WG know how popular German capital ships are and a decent chunk of the community will not be able to resist.
