If they took away the magic homing torps and made them a bit slower that would help alleviate a lot of the hate towards them, it would make them skill based.

Yes every other class can be countered without help, that's not true of subs

I have moved over to Ranked, Brawls and Coop.

Hardly see Subs in those game modes.

Isn't it funny that Wargaming bring in Subs, and half the player base either quit or move to modes without Subs.

I'd say it is neither PvP or whatever, it is just a video show, as none of the participants are actually doing anything.

Not sure if this was asked/answered before, but does anyone know why hybrid ships like Kearsarge, Ise, and Tone don't get any AWS...?

I don’t know if WG have actually given a proper reason per say, on various streams they usually given vague comments of overloading players or teamwork.

 

However for the upcoming US hybrid line they were testing giving them ASW so it’s possible existing hybrids might be given it in time ( but I certainly wouldn’t guarantee it) what little info there is available is below:

My thoughts on subs.  Pointless troll hammers but I digress.

HP pools too large.

Hydro should be better at detecting subs.  For example torpedoes are smaller and yet Hydro gets longer range to detection???

Hydro was invented for the purpose of detecting underwater objects so wg increase the range of detection for subs!

Subs are way too fast on the surface so please reduce their top speeds a little. 

In the first minutes of a match I am seeing subs pop up in places even a speed boosted destroyer would struggle to get to undetected.

Homing torps are still bugged often when I lose a ping the homing torps continue to track me???

 

Right now if the sub player knows how to play them subs are low risk high reward.

Balans something?

 

It cannot be for historical reasons (the excuse for Okhotnik not having ASW), something that last Saturday nearly cost my team the match. Fortunately one of the enemy subs - that got to kill Okhotnik with a shotgun attack, btw, decided to win harder and throw the game for his team.

fastest sub on surface goes 33 knts...it is t8 usa...on tx fastest sub goes 30 knts.....

Unfortunately, there still are some who insist on contaminating co-op with subs.

And, even when there aren't, the co-op MM will often throw a bot sub (or two) on your team.

It amazes me how some players do not have a 100% win rate in Coop battles.

I have played nearly 200 games in Coop so far, and won every game.

I have not survived every game, but they have all been wins.

 

Many players do not have the same win rate lol.

 

I find Subs in Coop games, maybe 1 game out of every 5 or maybe more than that.

Stick around. There's some notorious Pommern & Agir potatoes in co-op that, until recently, I were convinced were bots.

I don’t think so it’s purely co-op battles.

 

As for how people can loose in co-op, speaking from my experience it’s much harder to loose these days. Back when friendly fire caused damage it was possible (thankfully still rare) so a team mate might kill you and other friendly ships before dying to the bots.
 

These days maybe if your on a bot heavy team and either the other players are AFK or go hide behind an island.
 

Speaking for myself here, I can screw up and get over enthusiastic  and either get overwhelmed or eat some torps, those are the situations I experienced where I lost co-ops because then my fellow human players are inactive so even the bots can win.

Losing in Co-op happens. 

 

- Absolute idiots as team mates.

 

- Most of your team consists of bots, and your realize it a little too late. If the majority of ships on your team are bots, you suddenly have to completely change your game style - make it far less suicidal. Because there is a reasonable chance your team has the vast majority of suicidal and stupid bots. And suddenly you are in your half health cruiser or BB facing full health BB bots from multiple directions, while being seriously down on the score.

I lost one or two matches after WG tweaked the AI last year as the bots made a concerted effort to capture your team's base in standard battles.

Before, the bots were more interested in charging you and your team mates.

Actually, I was quite impressed when two bot Rahmats beelined for the cap on the Estuary map, smoked up and stopped.

No one could see them to reset the capture progress and it took too long for my Scharny to turn around and get back off a flank.

Now I always keep one eye the base ... :cap_look:

Not very realistic for a ww2 sub is it?  The real US Salmon submarine could handle 21 knots on the surface and 9 knots submerged:Smile_teethhappy:.  The fastest submarine ever made in ww2 was Japanese.  The I-201 class were of advanced design, and had been built for high underwater speed. They were the fastest operational submarines built during World War II, surpassing even the German type XXl submarines.  The l-201 could handle 15.75 knots on the surface and an outstanding 19knots submerged but I'm sure when it arrives in wows they'll probably triple those speeds for realism:Smile_trollface:.  Kinda makes DDs redundant as subs spawn so close to the caps.......
