 then that mean we need to paly Minnesota for 350k xp for Vermont OMG im going to use some of my free xp only to get Vermont then im only going to play them under snowflake events. This is the worst ship line ever that WG have release so far.........

Why use Free XP on something you would not play anyway?

Just play a different line.

I'd go further and argue that it's worse than kongo. I genuinely believe that kongo would do better in a tier 8 match than a kansas would. Riga is an amazing ship compared to it and that's saying something.

Now you go a bit far. Even if you upgraded Kongos plating to Tier VIII, she would have a hard time. Without it, she is just toast.

She would indeed have a hard time yes....but I think she would do better than kansas at long range combat. Mostly due to being able to reposition and dodge shells. She'd be bad, but then again kansas is horrible so...not exactly a high bar to clear.

Ship is utterly slow for its tier and the 40 seconds' reload is rather absurd... Not only that but these traits count for the tier IX and X as well so that's a no from me.

Tried Kansas only once and MM messed me up in a tier X match where our X and IX ships weren't doing anything so my experience was rather rough.

Played a battle in it, got hit by a few Shima torps to go down to 15k hp. Enjoyed a reload of low 30s for the rest of the game sniping from behind some island with 26 km range.

 

While I had better games too, it really is just a horribly boring playstyle with the crap speed being the least of the issues. Having crap tankiness, crap accuracy, crap pen and crap reload, I have no idea how this thing is supposed to compete with NC. Yes, it has 3 more shells on a correspondingly crap reload, but the NC typically isn't a shotgun and lands its shells.

Bad in everything and good for nothing. The dispersion of the shells of Kansas is terrible, and does not allow to benefit from the extension of its guns, and even if shells hit something, the penetration does the rest, and shells often bounce. Getting closer to the opponents is equivalent to committing suicide, this boat ignites like a straw, and is pierced as if it were made of aluminum foil, and while the weapons are reloading, I have time to go and make a coffee . And finally, the speed of this ship: 23 knots, oh my God, even my grandmother goes faster with her rods ... A real trash can, need to be balance or scrap!

Don't think you will have deliverance after grinding the T8. You didn't play the Minnesota. 

Sure better sigma, but you still take bagdad in bow tank, and don't even try to kite with a plating of 25mm in the behind. 

The whole line is terrible.

The worst offense of this line in my opinion really is that they don't get the improved american heal that the fast BB line and literally every tech tree BB before it get. Combined with the all-around 32mm plating of Kansas specifically that's basically a "HE spammer victim" sign floating above it.

 

Seriously, I played against a Smolensk once with Kansas, and if you think that ship is cancer enough when you run into it in, say N. C. or Bismarck……

plus Its to expensive to run because of its speed to theatre ( making your damage is not easy ), making it irrelevant in game which is a total same.

You mean listening to the community that considers half the Russian ships OP, considered the Italian cruiser line as crap until the Venezia CB season and even then considers only Venezia worth it, although it lost its special SAP properties compared to other ships in the line and British heavy cruisers still are considered absolutely poor?

I have expected this ship to be very bad in current meta... but holy moly was I not ready for this. This ship is an absolute meme... slow, horribly inaccurate (I have managed to miss a broadside Conqueror from 12 km with my front turrets), horrendous reload, no US heal and it literally melts under any sort of HE fire. And somehow, its 406mm guns have only tiny higher alpha than German 381 mils. Vermont better be super good after this terribly boring grind (not expecting much from Minnesota either).
