Chargeback Ban

Hello everyone,

 

I got a Chargeback Ban because of a refund. If knew that is gonna happen I wouldn't ask for it.

Anyways.. I contacted with support and they asked from me patience.. No clear answer about how long time needs to unban.

So I want to ask here. Has anyone else ever faced same issue? How long usually takes for unban?

Wait. So you bought something, but you didn't like it so you wanted a "refund" and you went to your bank to enact a chargeback - and you're surprised WG banned your account for basically forcibly taking money out of their wallet?

Or am I getting something wrong?

It sounds like he asked for and got a refund from WG, it was slow so he chargebacked.

Actually I accidently bought -via Steam- Wargaming Premium 30 days (9.94 euro) and asked to change to Warships Premium (8.14 euro) without asking to get back any money difference. Just to switch the premiums.

They respond this is not able to happen and I should get a full refund of my money and then buy the pack I want. Didn't know anything about bans and never informed about this kind of issues during contact.  So I accepted.

While ticket was open and waiting for refund I bought the correct pack for me. I didn't mean at all to cheat or anything. The thing is that I got the refund, I have the new premium and my account banned. Then I asked if I have to purchase any other goods to get immediately unban because I think i didn't do something so wrong to deserve waiting days for unban, but no answer yet. Just on hold.

It never happened to me but I head from people who did that kind of thing.

 

To sum things up, when you have a payment to WG cancelled or refund, the value of what you bought is converted in golds and applied negatively to your account.

 

If your number of golds is negative, your account is blocked until it returns to  zero or a positive number of golds.

That wouldn't be how I understand a refund though... is WG using some other definition of 'refund'?

So if I purchase now something at the value of the refunded price I get instant unban or still have to wait my ticket solved? Really don't undersrand why get ban for such a reason and without any notice before refund.

I'm not sure as you bought premium time for another game and asked WG to convert it for WoWS. So you can't really be sure for which game you need to pay to unlock your account.

 

The safest thing to do is to do a ticker to the Customer service to ask how exactly you can unlock your account !

Getting an actual answer from CS would be the safest, I just wonder how long should OP wait for it to get processed. If OP did indeed do a chargeback then that would lock the account as you said.

Yes, I contacted with steam in first place as I didn't know where to contact first for the issue. So I had open 2 tickets in steam & WG.

 

Steam responded that cannot do anything and I should contact WG. After a while WG responded as well what I wrote in previous messages.

 

So I closed the ticket in steam as solved before even get the refund from WG.

 

So if I wouldn't contact with steam I shouldn't have any issue?

Do you may know how long takes for unban after all..? :/

Are you saying Steam performed the chargeback and not you yourself? Because again IMO for most businesses there is a clear difference between refund and chargeback. I'd expect Steam to be authorised to give a refund, so there shouldn't be any need for chargeback at all.

 

EDIT

 

I should add that AFAIK WG refunds must be rare, because they would only refund ships with 0 or max 1 battle, for instance. I don't know if they refund premium time either, but in your case if you bought an entire wrong product by mistake I just don't have a clue.

No no, I say I just contacted with steam and WG as I didn't know in first place where to ask the premium pack switch thing. Steam responded that they cannot take any action and is better to contact with WG. So then I closed the steam ticket as solved. Never steam asked for refund from WG

WG has always had a unique meaning for words such as refund.

I wonder if this is where the confusion arose. Steam offers cash refunds on all purchases to dissatisfied customers. If there is a problem with this, WG should take it up with Steam rather  than with the Steam customer. Techncially, Paiz is Steam's client, not WGs.

After all,

 

I don't think steam played any role at the ban.

 

WG support team when suggest refund to players SHOULD inform about ban thing.

 

I find it not right to be banned and cannot play for days for this kind of reason. As from the first moment I was clear I don't want to take any money advantage. I suggested just a switch at premiums without I get any money difference back. If I knew about ban surely I WOULDN'T accept refund. I would just buy both premiums.

 

So my main question now,

 

Does anyone know how long this kind of issue takes to get solved?

As for the Forums, the best option is to hear from the WG staff here. I'm not sure if any of us knows what the issue is. There's a couple of possibilities where things might have gone wrong as @LoveZeppelin suggested. First at Steam, then at WG customer support. I've never done a chargeback myself (if this is it), but AFAIK you do it yourself with your bank/credit card, not through WG customer service. Alternatively, it could be they've done the chargeback when you requested a refund. Two different things, but they and you might have misunderstood each other. I'm not even sure if you would know if that is the case, only the customer support basically could answer that IMO.

If WG gives out the Refund its Strange you would get Banned. 

But stranger things have happened.

 

Maybe Ask our CMs if they can look into it.

a chargeback and a refund are completely different things, i suspect we're not getting all the truth, only WG can give a refund and you do not get a ban for a refund - we've seen this from the odd occasion where people have bought a prem ship and not played it, then got a refund, whereas a chargeback the OP mentions is a user initiated action through their bank or credit card, as the OP mentions the chargeback, i suspect he was impatient waiting for WG to answer the ticket and did it himself.

This was Repeated Numerous Times. However. The Post Opener has repeatedly Stated that he got a Refund and did not just Call back the Money.

And if you Read his Posts its pretty Obvious that his English Skills are limited.

So currently I would assume that his Mentioning of Chargeback instead of Refund is an Error in Language.

 

But we can also just Ask Directly.

Or did You Initiate a Bank Transfer to Call back the Money Paid to Wargamings Accounts ?

 

Because Wargaming Issues Refunds by Initiating a Seperate Bank Transfer to your Account. 

If you Initiated a Forced Return of the Money by having your Bank Recall it from Wargamings Account after Wargaming Agreed to a Refund. Then this could be Seen as an Attempt of Fraud where Wargaming Initiated a Bank Transfer of the Money to your Bank Account. And then you also Called back the Money from your own Bank Transfer. Thus you getting the Money back Twice. Which will then Result in Wargaming Immediately Recalling the Money from your Account and Banning your Account due to Attempted Fraud.

So, Just few hours after purchase I noticed I didn't buy the correct pack, I created a ticket to WG and I asked for switch between premiums. WG respond that is not able and suggested to me a refund. They asked from me some infos so they return the money. Steam username, transaction ID, etc... I gave them all the infos they wanted and agreed to a REFUND. The ticket stayed on hold.

In game, the WG premium has been canceled as expected.

The ticket was still on hold and before I get the refund I bought Warships Premium and continue playing the game.

Afterwards finally I got the refund. They return ne the money to Steam.

Since then when I open the game I get a message: "Your account is permanently locked. Chargeback Issue".

Really hope I describe well the situation and you can understand guys. Thanks.

It was my first (and last) time I go for a refund.

So didn't know where to contact in very first place and sent in both Steam and WG. When both replied I closed steam ticket and went all the way with WG support as described above.

 

Maybe there is the issue. I don't know.

 

But I repeat from steam respond was that didn't make any single act for my issue as this may impact negatively my WG account and suggested to me to contact Wargaming for refund. That's the only message I got from steam and closed the ticket ASAP.

That is really bad you are having that issue. 

It seems like a technicality from the system. 

most of our WG staff pinged, but let me add @Crysantos so may be we can fix things faster :)

Thank you guys for helping!

Hope some WG staff look my issue because never attempted to fraud or anything. The opposite, I said twice during contact with support I only want switch between the premiums and I DON'T want refund or the money difference back.
