FDR: how to play it ?

I really tried to make FDR work in a good way, going after DDs and CAs, but this thing just cannot do it properly.

 

Not only are the planes slow, all types of ordnance leave a lot of reaction time too. Everything about it is designed to attack big and clumsy targets.

 

In the end I figured out that you can only play it as a damn Sky Conqueror, which is super toxic and bad for your team:

 

 

So what's the experience of others - do you have a good way to play this thing, other than using it as a silly BB-farmer ?

Right, because 250k is such a bad result. 

 

The right way to handle FdR is, right click itvin port and choose the sell option.

If not available, ignore it.

Why not let BBs get some sky love?

Cruisers and DDs had to share it so far

 

 

I wonder, will FDR be the first freemium gettingly directly nerfed when BB tears will overflow the ocean?
The only reason why it might not, is because not enough people will get/play it

And as somebody, who mostly plays DDs in high tiers, I hope many people will be blindfolded by the damage numbers the FDR racks up and finally leave me the F alone.

So im not complaining.

Anyway, the concept is not much different from the other CVs, which make any DD or Cruiser (depending which CV we talk about, one more or less then the other) that is so unfortunate to end up in the same game, bend over.

 

Hint: Division FDR with 2 BBs to ensure maximum targets l0l

How to make it work? Randomly roll over your keyboard while laughing at the idea of mythical AA that does anything. This thing is an abomination even for the shitshow level of the CV class as a whole.

Played her for two months and can confirm - you can make some damage, mostly against BBs.

But you cannot decide matches, you have no weapons against DDs.

Sit back, enjoy a slow & easy  gameplay with staring some fires.

If you want to play to win, this is not the CV you are looking for.

With the numbers of BBs in rank & random queue its about freakin time something counters this class. If we would only have another class... that would be effective against big, massive, not so mobile (strike that) targets...hmm... anyone? Nah, cant think of any.

So it farms BB......

 

As DFens righfully remarks : DD have their dedicated anti DD CV types already, Cruisers have their dedicated anti  Cruiser CV types already.......so is it strange we now have a dedicated anti-BB farmer CV ?

 

And mindful of their largest ( and whiniest )  by far playerbase as WG is, it is locked behind a steel wall so it will not terrorize the BB playerbase....too much.

 

Except in CB's where WG seems to have a score to settle with some boycotter individuals.....as a choice between prey ( BB ) and hunter ( CV ) will then be a lot easier, in favor of what WG wishes to see.

I'm confused. Harassing BB's in a carrier is toxic all of a sudden? Silly? And harrassing cruisers and destroyers in carriers is not?

Picking on Cruisers and DDs is like picking on the weird kid in school: You shouldnt do it, but yet its kinda fun i suppose.

right, so in your mind dd torps, HE spammers, submarines and AP bombers are not counters to bbs

currently bbs are useful for one thing. be a punchbag for every other class

Sure, if you were right, then explain to us, why the queue in ranked is overloaded since second one with BBs? Why the random queue is overloaded with BBs, getting worse and worse? AP bombers are a counter to BBs? Have you played a Cleveland f.e. when a CV with AP bombs is coming at you? Yet you call it a "BB counter?" are you serious? DD torps? what happens to an Edinburgh that gets hit by 2 IJN or PA torps hm? game is over for the cruiser. Not to mention a DD taking even ONE torp. But yea, that must be a matter "gitgud, just dodge" but DEM POOR POOOOOR BBs, once there is a tool around that for some magical reason is actually more effective against them then against the other classes. We shall all join in the whine and demand a stop to that cruelty. Yea. No. My sympathy is non-existend. Have you already forgot about all the BBs buffs btw? Ofc you have. You got free premium consumables and flooding was not only nerfed it was put into a tiny, pink constume so everyone can make fun of it. I doubt it very much.

BBs fell out of grace, the favouritism shifted towards cvs.

BBs can cry all day long that wont change a thing.

you had already 3 all classes asking for more AA.

 

 

apparently their answer was AP bombs, new stupid OP cv skills and this.

if you think this planes are tanky (btw, did you see the absurd amount of rockets they can launch in a single strike?)

Problem is that when WG arrive with nerf bat and see that bully is actually a CV it would stop and wouldn't know what to do. If it is just cruiser or DD it would beat them to the pulp but it is a CV .... WG loves BB but CV is still their precious one with special needs. What to the do there? Probably just beat cruisers and DDs in pulp for every case.

Most Cvs are very effective against BBs too. They are the easiest to hit with bombs and torps.
