what is the next battleship with free experience?

now, there are only cruises ...
I have 1 million free experience and I like battleships
does any come out soon?

Hello. Currently the only Battleship you can buy with fxp is the Nelson. 

I'm sure there hasn't been any plans for another fxp BB for now.

Maybe, MAYBE, upcoming Hizen, 12gun Izumo will be for free exp. But then this ship seems to follow "Vermont" route, as in pays dearly in accuracy AND reload for that extra set of barrels.

Alaska is generally felt to be excellent (I'm rubbish in mine, but that sort of ship isn't really my thing), but do be mindful that the upcoming captain skill rework is - currently - looking like it'll beat 'supercruiser' captains (which currently tend to favour BB skills) with a sh*tty stick.

Well, Alaska's been available for a long time now and she's quite popular. WG often removes ships from the store when that is the case. Whatever new fxp bb comes next, she'll probably be there to stay for a long time so you'll have time to grind the fxp.

Alaska is a great ship (even tho I have bad luck in her lately) and you could buy her or wait for some free EXP ship in future.

But keep in mind that you will probably get another several hundreds of free EXP by the time when some new BB is announced. For now there is nothing on the horizon.

btw I would not wait for that JPN BB Izumo 2.0 because it probably wont be satisfied with big reload.

 

You should farm Coal resource and buy Georgia from the Armory. She have a reputation of a great tier 9 BB.

Pommern is objectively inaccurate (standard BB dispersion, 1.5 sigma), but due to magic of 12gun broadside, something eventually will stick to the wall, with subpar reload of 33s.

Georgia is objectively accurate (battlecruiser dispersion, 1.8 sigma) but due to only 6 guns, any misses will be felt dearly. And you can pull off next shot in 26s, faster than most BBs.

 

Pommern 380mm guns can't overmatch 27mm plating found on good number of hightier cruisers, Georgia's 457mm can overmatch 30mm, used in T10 cruisers. 457mm guns also hit like an absolute truck in terms of damage.

Massa/Georgia/Ohio secondaries are accurate, but low penetration limits their effectiveness against anything bigger than DD and they remain "usable" without dedicated secondary build. Bismarck/Tirpitz/Pommern secondaries have higher pen, though 105mm guns still can't dent somewhat common 27mm plating on hightier cruisers. And you need full secondary build to make them usable.

 

Georgia isn't a brawler with her armor layout and somewhat vulnerable citadel, Pommern is, bonus points for having torps. On other hand, Georgia can move around the map fast with up to 39kts top speed and improved acceleration from Engine Boost.

I sense they are supposed to be played differently. Can't exactly tell you how, because I tend to play all my BB's the same away, with intermittent cursing. If I were to guess, the Pommern is a mid to close range brawler (IMHO you can't brawl even with German BB's...) open to secondary builds with close range torps as a backup. Thunderer, on the other hand, being more of a mid to long range AP citadel machine.. or something like that.

 

Also, economywise they are different. Pommern is a premium ship whereas Thunderer is a special ship. How exactly that shows up on the spreadsheet, can't actually say.

All good said exept about secondaries. Massa secondaries are better than Bizmark / Derpitz. They can penetrate a lot of ships, even BBs of the same tier. Recently I detonate Akasuki with 1 salvo of secondaries.

At longer ranges, Massa/Georgia/Ohio can rack up some damage as shells tend to land on superstructure, especially against bow on targets, but outside of that, they just lack the pen to threaten hull/bow/stern oh hightier ships bigger than DD or odd Brit CL or other Smolensk. And then detonating someone is pure luck, not really related to "secondaries op"
