This event is pure gold. Literally doubloons :Smile_trollface:

And not even a good value on the return. I assume Florida will be in the normal shop on Friday.

So if you buy everything piece by piece in the shop:

Florida datamined cost in dubs - 9500 - 31.25€

T8 perma camo - 3000 - 9.86€

T9 perma camo - 4000 - 13.16€

T10 perma camo - 5000 - 16.44

Total - 21500 dubs - 70,71€

Compare this to sweating your a$$ off doing directives and then dropping 22k dubs just to get the Florida.

How many Doubloons do you need for Coal?

This is a calculation for the standard Type 18/19/20 perma camos that you buy in the camos section for dubs and the standard ship package in the shop. If you want coal from the event, good luck whaling it.

Well given the token requirements and the fact these ships don't seem all that fun to play I can easily ignore this event.

Whats actually interesting for me is how confident WG are that people will pay for the random bundles, evidentially most players are very generous to WG.

The ships themselves weren't of interest to me, even before I knew there were only three of them with two of those walled off behind two different paywalls. The deliberately-complicated mess that these events have become is a real turn-off even when (if) they have ships I'd actually like to have; I suppose I'll just have to see whether what comes along after the Transformers missions (which don't have the most amazing rewards, but are at least decently structured) takes my fancy, otherwise it's going to be a pretty lean month in WoWs for me.

At least I might be able to pick up a couple of girlie patches...

To get Florida I would need to:

Get all 12,900 currency things from the campaign and use them to complete stage 3. (3,000 + 4,000 + 5,000 = 12,000)

Stage 3-6 I need 33,000 additional currency things...  Take away the 900 I have remaining, I need 32,100 additional currency thingies.

32,100 / 1,500 = 21.4 crates, so effectively 22 crates @ 1,000 doubloons each.

So to get a tier 7 premium ship I need buy 22,000 doubloons worth of crates?

Serioiusly WG...... You have no shame :cap_haloween:

EDIT for extra comedy:

so (idk how to use a spoiler) i wanted the florida for free or the coal for free,

but as we know,

it's wg after all

just like we say in italian:

you know what? wg is wg

Wouldn't be the first event in any game I've whaled, but if I get this right, it'll set you back at least 67K doubloons (and I'm probably wrong but wouldn't be surprised)

If you want everything from the event, yes.

If you just want the line to have each a perma camo and the Florida basic package, then no (and the perma camos are standard and not the golden chicken).

Maff is hard but I will try, workings out included incase I have messed something up:

Spoiler

20d63130-fe58-11ea-afbf-8cdcd4b147d4.jpg

12,900 currency things from completing campaign.

Currency from campaign will get you to start of stage 4.

Stages 4,5,6,7 = 58,000 currency things.

58,000 - 900 (left over from campaign) = 57100/1500 = 38.6 crates - the reality being you will need 39.  So 39 crates @ 1,000 doubloons = 39,000 doubloons.

If you want the 8th stage 30,000/1500 = 20 crates = 20,000 doubloons.

If you are going to whale it, 59,000 doubloons, £166.05 GBP circa 183 Euro.

67,000 doubloons is the number I came back with assuming you dont bother doing the campaign.  EDIT (67K dubs = £188.56 GBP circa 208 Euro)

Or just do as Aragathor stated and save yourself some money, granted you wont get the coal.

Still, at least this event is cheaper and easier to calculate than the Puerto Rico :cap_like:

Still cheaper that the amount of money I paid to build 3 rockets in WT as well.

On a side note I do wonder how long it will be before we see a freemium Vincent with 4x4 16" Mk 7s.

"You can get even more American Tokens for completing chains of combat missions that are available on the weekends of the second and third weeks after the release of the Update. The difficulty of the chains, as well as the number of Tokens that you can receive, depends on your activity during the previous updates. "

sooooooooooo the less you played in the past the easier the missions are?

Well last time, you were meant to get more, the more you played.
The mission was harder, but you got more out of it.

Although from a few of my friends clan whom play daily, they didnt get any missions at all and I dont remember getting any despite playing most days, so if @MrConway (tagging as first one whom came to mind) or another WG staff could state what the requirements for these additional chains to appear in your account (IE played x games per day or something) it would make it easier

No, its why I above asked for clarification on how it works.

Im 98% sure I got none of the additional missions last time they did this mechanic,
And I know a few players whom didnt get any missions despite playing daily.

This.

As long as you have to buy 60 packs and you only have 63 available you will drop the minesota for sure, then you should buy 61 packs.

So pay 200€ for be able to complete the event :cap_haloween:

I liked the way soviet BB's come to the game, I got lazo and kuznestov for free. The whole event was monetized but in the good way, you could get the goodies for free in exchange for your time or you can pay either. That was a well planed event, this is just shameful.

PR2.0

No money for you this month WG.

American Tokens

American Tokens can be obtained in the following ways:

  • By completing Directives and missions of the event—up to 12,900 Tokens.
  • From random bundles that are available in exchange for doubloons in the Armory—up to 96,000 Tokens.
  • In exchange for Recruitment Points in the Armory—up to 2,000 Tokens.

The 8 bundles add up to 100000 token in total.

So, if you don't want to spend any cash, you won't even get the Kansas, you need 18K for that.

Cmon WG, you've proven there are idiots out there in the community willing to grind (PR event remember that disaster), so let them, have a chance of getting the 100K in token here,  if they don't have the cash.

10 points from Gryffindor for using grey and especially white text with this forum background-change the color in the future, maybe ?

I don't see how this matters to an Arcade game that isn't really based that much on reality when you realise that ship speeds, turning speeds, the time it takes for them to sink are exaggerated and the infinite amounts of ammo for every type of weapon on said ship.

Point being it is an Arcade game.

Why spend money on early access when one can wait a month or so? Then there's the debate of whether these new joke BBs are even worth it.

These are rear line BB's, not brawlers and if a Cruiser gets enough shots off it is pretty much gone, certainly not a clan or tornament ship, probably worth it for the Research Bureau though.
