Do we have any real sailors here? I mostly sail on 39-44 ft sailboats in Mediterranean. What about you?

Used to sail a bit with my parents' 33' sail boat back when they had time to maintain it, but it's in need of some TLC nowadays.

Other than that I've been on a couple of trips with the Statsraad Lehmkuhl. Nice view from the royal yardarm.

A few months doing welding work on a bulk bote in the North Sea / Baltic, mid 1995 if I remember correctly

Saw a few ports

Have owned several small botes since the late 80:s mostly for fishing

Here is a pic

But also a small open 6 meter sailing boat and a sea canoe for water sports near the house.

Nah, all real sailors lost their jobs long time ago with the invention of steam. :Smile_trollface:

Been on board her once when Bergen was one of the ports of call for the Tall Ships Races. Hell of a ship, she made most of the other ships look tiny.

I cheated and started when my father was first officer/mate on a dry cargo freighter... I was two years old on my first trip and slept in a drawer in his cabin... here we are a couple of years later on another cargo ship, probably going to or from S America.  Yep, ships and boats M/Vs, S/Ss and even oars.  Biggest was a dwt 70,000 tons bulk carrier in the 70s, everything since has been smaller.  Still got the astrolabe and some smaller boats to play around in.
