Hybrids came a bit of a surprise to me, a bit sceptic I'am about them (for now) but if implemented right it may offer a likable playstyle.

For the submarines, I truly believe they could have and probably should have a place in this game. I haven't tested them yet though. Like the hybrids this also needs a good implementation to be a succes I believe. I hope all ships allready ingame will get a way to counter them, maybe the spotterplane can help with that. Then again; subs need to stay (a bit) stealthy because thats what they are designed for.  I also believe a sub should be able to attack any kind of ship with their torps.

For the captain skills rework; I hope it works out well. For instance, the equipment rework of WoT made me to pause with that game and now fully playing WoWs :Smile_trollface:

"Please give feedback" has become a WG meme.

Snowflakes, I will await more information as "no longer need a win but base XP" looks superficially like it will require a higher time commitment for those with a lot of ships to get the snowflakes, rather than just going to coop and blasting some bots.

I just hope that Halloween hasnt got messed up, it’s the highlight of the year in WOWs for me.  To give you your dues the Filth Raids from last year were absolutely fantastic, I enjoyed that mode more than Randoms/CB/Ranked.  So much salt to be farmed, so much derp to be had, it was a masterpiece and you have set the bar high for this years halloween mode.

Just to be sure, this rule of base XP for the snowflake will be added as another option how to get the snowflake.

So you can either win or reach certain base XP.

Thanks for the clarification, I was not expecting it so soon.

That is a positive change :cap_like:

So how do these Snowflakes work anyway? Only came back to the game a few weeks ago.

first victory (or in future a game with a certain amount of basexp) in a ship (during an update) gives you a reward, for example at the moment

From an Italian: You can't hear "Cristoforo Colombo", it lacks incisiveness and historical ideals of Italy.

"Cristoforo Colombo" seems just like one of the many clichés about Italy: people of saints, poets and navigators ... let's add pasta and pizza:Smile_facepalm:

The design of this ship was of the "Unity of Italy" class, and one of the names for the ships of this class was "Goffredo Mameli" or "Augusto", at least that would make sense.

But even a name like "Impero", to be opposed to the French "Republique", would be excellent, first of all to mark the fact that the two navies were always in competition, such as to lead to the construction of ships that responded to the ships built by the other party ; in secundis because it takes up what Italy was in the past and the aspirations that were hoped for at the time for the future, a concept opposite to that expressed by the French tierX.

More of that In that period, among other things, there was a tendency to draw first names for ships from the history of ancient Rome, so I find it very plausible that at least one of the ships of the new class would have had a Roman epithet (as indeed is been for the "Vittorio Veneto" class).

Even calling it "Lepanto" would sound better.

Good afternoon captains!

If WG listen to your ideas and change the name sure, but they are still to give the British battleships the due respect they derserve espiecally towards the Lion-ised Tier 10 (when the 1944 B3 Lion would have been more fitting with the 3x3 16.5" Mk III guns that were capable of a combined 27 rounds per minute while not being that durable and a strong Dual-Purpose battery of 12x2 4.5" RP 41s).

Thanks wot, I had read it, and for this I say that it is not a name that, especially in that historical period, would have been used, I also spelled it out because.
I hope they change the name so as not to repeat the mistake of "Milan", even if we are not at that level:Smile_veryhappy:

So to summarize:

1. Subs - No thanks, no way, no how - put them and CVs in separate game mode and 95% of community with say thank you

2. Commander skill - probably another money grab. In future we should get 24 hour period for each captain for  skill distribution - basically 1st time you play ship after rework, you have 24 h to get that captain in order. So, if you get to some captain a month or two later- you'd still have 24h to re-skill him

3. Hybrid - fix CVs first, then try more air *edited*

4. Halloween - hopefully less arcade than last

5. Italian BBs - if SAP is balanced - good thing

6. Ranked - probably good rework

7. Dockyard - probably good. Gotten better after PR disaster

8. Campaign - if perma, always good

7. Snowflakes - hell no, lowering requirement just promotes meh play

Removed inappropriate wording.

Arty_McFly

Shame I am prevented from reading your comment un-edited but I agree with much that remains after the censorship.

I actually think this was the issue they wanted to adress. That people would just go coop to do them instead of tackling the challenge.

I have circa 200 snowflakes to wipe perhaps more, many port queens on come out when there is a snowflake, making the criteria random only would mean less ships bought and hence less profit$$$$.

New Commander skills, changes to submarines, new ships, temporary modes, and much more!

Read it on the portal

I just want to know : the new Halloween mode is just a Battle Royale mode, yes?
And the way it will be organized looks a lot like the battle royale mode of Refight: the Last Warships (that in turn takes surely its look from World of Warships, especially the three ships models).
Frankly, I really don't like Wargaming to have abandonned the Operation PvE mode (Just put back Cherry Blossom, Hermes and Ultimate Frontier and I'll never complain again, and I'll like you again and buy thingies from the shop again), but the Halloween operations and PvPvE mode from last year are always a good change on the boring routine of PvP. I just hope the new mode will be PvPvE (the monsters seem to be a good thing) but it seems that you AGAIN put competition in the mode as only a few players will escape from the portal. Why you cannot give us 10-20% players who loves casual PvE operation play some nice things of COOPERATION on a scenario? We are paying premium for 5 years now, generally, and I don't feel, as a casual player, that I have the return of my money these last two years.
I have 336 ships sleeping in the port, I'd like to use them for some good operation play adapted to the tier of the ships of the division. Why not make this too? Why block operations to Tier VI or VII? If only you adapted current surviving operations to Tier IV to X, I would shut my mouth forever.
Well, keep up the good (?) work.
A disenchanted very old player.

1. A question relevant for veterans:

"Will we keep our elite captains as elite captains - that is will they gain 21 points OR will we have to regrind them to elite status (very unsexy). "

2. Input about "hybrids". You won't sell any to non CV players unless you include an AUTOMATIC option for the planes.

I've noticed something, some ships have Helipads on them (or what looks like Helipads), is there a possibility we may get roudimentry ASW Helicopters that are slower but more effective at Anti-Submarine duty?

Errr WG? The picture you showed off the new Italian BB line starts at tier IV, are the italians not getting a tier III BB or did you assume no one cares about the tier III and thus not include it in the picture? (because i myself AM curious what the tier III would be)

Possible they have modelled several Tier 3 Battleships for Italy but have not decided on a clear pick for the tech tree.

I truly hope that, if you really can't do without that name, at least pass this name "Cristoforo Colombo" to the Tier IX battleship and call the Tier X battleship "Lepanto".

"Lepanto" is important because all 4 main maritime republics participated in it, each of which is the history and pride of the Italian Navy, and constitutes its flag.

Many will not like this statement, but if today we are here, able to freely write our thoughts and our states have a great history, it is thanks to the sacrifice of the maritime republics that have defended our European values, so, it's a bold name, optimal for a levelX ship.

Good afternoon captains!

I assume they think people won't be hyped by the tier III and IV OR that the 3D models ain't finished yet. Why is think that is because you can see that the TIV icon is using the exact TVI silouhette as a preview.
Whereas Dante Alighieri, even if it was to be put in game with a hypotetical modernization, wouldn't be the same as the Doria, due to its Gangut Configuration.

My guess would be that captains will keep the XP they've gathered so far. This means that if you've played enough on that captain it'll probably turn into a 21 point captain instantly. Same thing happened with account levels. When the max level increased a lot of people skipped straight to it.
