Well, sometimes unexpected things happen - like a positive Covid-19 case in our office, so we had to work with what we had available. I think it's still better for you guys to have Conway or me looking into the wrong camera than not being able to supply you with this in time for when we wanted to announce these things. Next time will be better, but the most important part is the shared information within the video.

Good idea to make such a video.

 

For the content:

  • 21 skill points are bad, it will increase the gap between new players and veterans
  • consider adding an ELO like system to the new Ranked
  • Subs still do not sound promising. I still see to many dangers for the role of the DD
  • Italian BB will come, which most of us expected instead of the US BB split. Fuel smoke sounds ok, but I am sceptical about SAP on BB guns. When they cannot overpen and do full pen damage, I see problems for cruisers and DD

-21 skill points, shouldnt that be actually a good thing ? more rewarding for a veteran player then new player? considering that mostly now you buy captains with 10 skill points anyway and get a premium ship to grin even faster? I did wanted more skill points but not like this, the choices still are pretty the same for everybody. Maybe put it more like that a captain has more personalization to some ship and extend exp gain for captains to achieve it.

-Still new italian BBs are more interesting then this new american hp pinata ships. WHo wants to play more Colorado ship at even bigger tier to get owned.

So to summarize:

1. Subs - No thanks, no way, no how - put them and CVs in separate game mode and 95% of community with say thank you

2. Commander skill - probably another money grab. In future we should get 24 hour period for each captain for  skill distribution - basically 1st time you play ship after rework, you have 24 h to get that captain in order. So, if you get to some captain a month or two later- you'd still have 24h to re-skill him

3. Hybrid - fix CVs first, then try more air *edited*

4. Halloween - hopefully less arcade than last

5. Italian BBs - if SAP is balanced - good thing

6. Ranked - probably good rework

7. Dockyard - probably good. Gotten better after PR disaster

8. Campaign - if perma, always good

7. Snowflakes - hell no, lowering requirement just promotes meh play

No.

  • experience gap increases
  • the additonally needed captain XP will be huge
  • most players will not get much Elite Captain for quite some time after the change

Idk, I don't like the feel of the new halloween event, instead of the cool, darkgreen and black, gritty, dark aesthetic of the old ones, instead it's extremely bright, midday and looks more like april fools with the spaceship-esc ships.

 

Doesn't look like it will tie into the old gamemodes either, all of them have had a running theme, with patterns and lore (yes, I play WOWS for the lore, lmao), but I guess it is a fresh start to something new, and hopefully interesting.

 

The ship skins look kinda hideous, I can't describe why I think so (yes, this is quite an empty critique only for that reason) but I think it may just be the high expectations that I have gained from the old halloween events, with the awesome steampunk/monster-esc models, but it could be something else too. 

 

Don't get me wrong, it sounds quite interesting, fight players AND MONSTERS???? It sounds intriguing, but still, it won't  singlehandedly repair and make me (personally) like the new stuff they have done done with it. In my opinion the biggest mistake is that it just does not look like a halloween gamemode, it just doesn't have this "pseudo-living" feel that it had in the past. Of course, all of this may just be a sort of 'old man talk';

 

"Listen children, Back in my day, we had steampunk and a dark aesthetic in our halloween gamemodes,,, but children of today want some sort of space, sci-fi humbug... unbelievable..."

How about you, WG do things at half the speed for a change?

EVERY week there is some new bonus to grab, new ship to play, new game mode, balance change or gameplay rework.

You can't get used to anything, because everything is constantly changing. Played a ship more than 1 month ago for the last time? Prepare for it to perform not as you are used to, because either meta has changed or something has been reworked.

 

It's exhausting. It really is.

Keeping up with all the stuff happening in WOWs is actual work for me. Stressful.

Divided captain skills are great !!! Finally we can play more personalized ships... I have always been asking myself, we have only have limited skills and limited captain levels... Thank you !

That's what I told them already and their answer was:

So yeah....Their middle ground is pumping out as much content as they can in a short time, burn out their current playerbase and hope that new players replace the old ones faster than the old ones leave.

Given "new player" is somewhat rare occurence in WoWs, we get all the missions to keep existing players busy enough so they run out of hours in a day to play (and spend on) something else.

"Please give feedback" has become a WG meme.  

Snowflakes, I will await more information as "no longer need a win but base XP" looks superficially like it will require a higher time commitment for those with a lot of ships to get the snowflakes, rather than just going to coop and blasting some bots. 

I just hope that Halloween hasnt got messed up, it’s the highlight of the year in WOWs for me.  To give you your dues the Filth Raids from last year were absolutely fantastic, I enjoyed that mode more than Randoms/CB/Ranked.  So much salt to be farmed, so much derp to be had, it was a masterpiece and you have set the bar high for this years halloween mode.

True, although if the amount of xp required is low enough (eg 300-400 bxp) it should be doable in coop just fine.

say that again, i couldnt hear you over the sound of me ?%/¤ myself....your really going forward with the submarines, AND YOUR going to ruin the game even FURTHER with more ships that did not exist, what's next? a russian ship that can fly over water and fire jet fuel over it's enemies?


Oh and by the way WG, we still havent forgotten the BS about the pay to rico....

Lots of really bad stuff, i.e. subs and hybrids etc.; some good stuff i.e. Italian BBs, more campaigns; stuff that does not need a re-work like snowflakes or commander skills, and stuff missing like decent scenarios.

 

For example, on the face of it 21 point commanders with class related skills sounds interesting but how long will it be until 80-90% of captains are spec'd the same and it becomes homogeneous mélange of sameness........for the third or is it fourth time?
