Just a fun poll

Having wondered into blind fire torpedoes today twice in my Kiev what word best describes the feeling of annoyance 😂

Sorry but “nuts” and “you rotter” are already taken

"Turn! TURN!"

I wouldn’t mind if I was sitting in smoke but twice from nowhere

And the Kiev doesn’t exactly turn quickly 😱

Still, I wonder to what extent these were blind - torps reload long enough that it's rare to torp really blind (unless you have good reasons to suspect where you should torp AND no prospects of a viable target otherwise). But torps are really slow. Wrong prediction of where some distant enemy is going to go (including torping at indicator of a target that then stops or even does a 180) and you end up with torps sailing in a seemingly random direction.

And these torps are the hardest to dodge, because the unfortunate not-really-target doesn't really expect being torped after having done nothing to paint a target on their behind - so they're not really expecting the danger. I've ate my share of such torps, even in relatively nimble DDs after having been caught in the middle of an unfortunate turn...

I feel we need refer to The Bard here:

"Villain, I have done thy mother!", or "Thou leathern-jerkin, crystal-button, knot-pated, agatering, puke-stocking, caddis-garter, smooth-tongue, Spanish pouch!", or even "Thou damned and luxurious mountain goat!" if one is *really* vexed...?

(Edit: this all appears in literature classrooms the length of the English-speaking world, for the benefit of any over-sensitive mods in the vicinity! :Smile_Default:)

Yoshino ofcourse.....also 20 km.

I launch them roughly in th direction of the back of enemy caps or distant island passes when still invisible. Launching them - have to be broadside to the launching direction - when enemies or planes can see you is a terrible mistake in that ship.

I do also launch from the 2nd line.......being close to the enemy is a terrible mistake in this ship too......There usually is no collateral damage as i do watch the envirorment before launching. But if there is an allied clown sailing right into them minutes after lauch......big deal, some "pink" time....

As in reference to "blind" torpedo's....these things can typically strike some enemy you never knew was there...and minutes after launching when you already forgot you did.......

Blind firing, love it, hence all my DD’s have RPF.

And the cap is a prime target / example 😉.    Who doesn’t blind fire ??.

We all do it, it’s more about that “Oh crap” moment when you realise you’ve had it but don’t even have time to get the ships band to play “nearer my god to thee” 😂

I torpedo parts of the map based on experience. In ranked with 16km torps on Gearing I got so many hits in the opposite caps. In random games I still do it, but not as much.

Blind fire?  Or have you blundered into torpedoes fired at another target?

Mostly in DD and to a lesser extent CA it's the latter unless you're sitting in a predictable and easy to torp position.

This says so much about you doesn’t it....

Torp from the back line and hit a friendly and blame them??? All your fault for being selfish really.

It's not blind fire. It's an educated guess fire.  No one chucks fishes in the water when there's nothing to fire at, usually.

However, chucking torpedoes at choke points and seeing a few hit after you've left the area makes you smile.

I think blundered into torps aimed at another target is most likely

The price of being at the front (or being slow in responding dependent on your viewpoint) đŸ„Ž

Foolish and Stupid...

Research what RL is for it's possible that your enemy had it equipped.

Possibly, after Rank today I had the fun drained from me...

'Suffering Suckertash, the absolute core deep horror of being blind fire torped not just the once but God Dammit twice...

I am livid, I am furious, I am so angry I could rip a toilet roll to pieces..'

That do ya?:Smile_trollface:
