'So we have the imminent (soon TM) arrival of the Belfast '43' (no heal, no interest) We already have the Bismarck/Tirpitz, the Scharnhorst/Gneisenau, Iowa/Missouri, why can we not have the HMS Rodney a historical ship and like her sister ship, the Nelson one of a kind.

I am pretty sure it is within WG's capabilities to add her somewhere in the game maybe (at tier 8) with the torpedoes both ships had,  she was the first RN BB to have radar,  (imagine the uproar:Smile_veryhappy:)Give Nelson the search and gunnery radars she got equipped with, or if that sounds too OP, then equip her with the Supermarine seagull she ran trials with.

Maybe one day we might bee graced with her, sad that a ship which did play a part in a significant battle is not represented in the game.

you cant add an infinite amount of ships at a time. If it played a significant role, it will be added eventually.

Kreml, stalingrad, monarch, lion, conqueror and every other ship that never got built or played any role in any war would like a word with you.

In the past, I really wanted a feature that would enable me to select the name of the sister ships for a ship that was in the game. Like say I am playing the Fuso, but instead of it being named Fuso in a drop-down menu or something I could select it to be the Yamashiro. (and of course, this would also be reflected in the battle). However it seems unlikely we could get such a solution because WG wants to sell copies of well-known sister ships still, I would love this for the less known/famous sister ship (with the understanding that the name of the sister ship would be removed if WG wanted to make a ship for sale called this).

Well longtime ago I made a rather sarcastic post regarding the possible arrival of Strasbourg as the uptiered sister of Dunkek... More armor, more reload, bit better sigma maybe a bit more aa..seems that T7 Strassbourg is already on its way...Even Thunderer once started as a LWM joke...

Still a bit disappointed that one of the most numerous battleship class is still not represented in this game. The R(evenge) class BB ( the Lidl QE class) would be nice at T5 or T6... ( preferred T6 looking at how WG is intending to butcher the Oklahoma just to fit it at T5)

This bit is damned funny :

Service with the Soviet Navy

220px-Arkhangelsk1944.jpg

Royal Sovereign as Arkhangelsk

After returning to Britain, Royal Sovereign was sent to the naval base in Scapa Flow.[54] On 30 May 1944 she was transferred on loan to the Soviet Navy as Arkhangelsk in lieu of war reparations from Italy. The ship left Britain on 17 August 1944 as part of the escort for Convoy JW 59, which contained thirty-three merchant vessels.[55] Six days later, while still en route, the convoy was attacked by the U-boat U-711. The submarine's captain, Hans-Günther Lange, incorrectly reported hits on Arkhangelsk and a destroyer,[56] though his torpedoes had exploded prematurely.[57] Under the impression that they had crippled the battleship, the Germans launched several submarine attacks on the ship while she was moored in Kola. Anti-torpedo nets ensured that the attacks failed, however.[56] The Germans then planned to use six Biber midget submarines to attack the ship, but mechanical difficulties eventually forced the cancellation of the plan. Regardless, Arkhangelsk had already departed Kola to patrol the White Sea by the time the Bibers would have arrived.[58] A Soviet crew commissioned the ship on 29 August 1944 at Polyarny. Arkhangelsk was the largest ship in the Soviet fleet during the war.[59] While in Soviet service, she was the flagship of Admiral Gordey Levchenko and was tasked with meeting Allied convoys in the Arctic Ocean and escorting them into Kola.[60]

I thought HMS sheffield was the first ship with radar rather than Rodney?

Don't play the game anymore so really don't mind what ships they add, and honestly I have found that wishing for real ships is like making a wish with a monkey's paw, you might get the ship, but it will be a mangled monstrosity that bares no similarity to what it should have been. Cough Vanguard.

Revenge is larger than Gangut class and that is why Arkhangelsk was the largest ship in the Soviet fleet during the war. Out of four Gangut class BBs, Marat was sunk in Leningrad but, as she is sunk in shallow water, three of her turrets continue to provide artillery support during the siege. Another BB in Leningrad, Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya was heavily damaged by German planes but her guns too stayed operational and active during the war. Unlike her  sisters, Parizhskaya Kommuna was somewhat more active in the Black Sea, bombarding German positions around Sevastopol and providing artillery support for landing on the southern coast of Crimea but after fall of Sevastopol and due losses of other ships, Soviet did put her in the safer place and she see little combat in the rest of he war. Frunze was not operational at all during ww2, and even before it. But BBs are not all. Lot of Soviet destroyers were active and saw lot of actions during the war with fair amount of losses. I'm really surprised how people tend to ignore role of the smaller ships which actually saw much more service during the war than BBs but seems like BBs stole all the glory. But hey, was Yamato the best hotel during the war or not?

I made fun of WG reality in this game.

I did not mean to make fun in any way of the real Russian Navy and what they did in history. In fact what WG does with adding "what if" ships is downplay the real ones, that end up as arcade botes of lower levels.

They might put more effort into giving these lower tiers ships actual ( Operations, Scenario's ) modes that do them justice, which is ofcourse not high paced low tier random mode filled with new and learning players that are at that tier for a few hours only.

HMS Saltburn was the first to test 79X early warning radar (surface/air) Sheffield was equipped with 79Y in 1939.

HMS Dido was a crazy radar tech fest when launched in 1940 with type 279 and type 281. Think she just about beat Carlisle for AA focused radar (type 280) and others for type 279.

HMS Ajax was first to use type 279 during the Battle of Cape Passero.

HMS Orchis was the first to use microwave surface detection (type 271X, accurate enough to spot periscopes on the surface etc)

Tons of famous RN, RM and IJN ships MIA, US and German premiums pay the bills.

There are like 70+ Fletchers missing on that list and the Banham you crossed is a wrong Benham. Benham we have in game is a Benham class DD, there is another one, of the Fletcher class, that got that name after the first one was sunk in 1942.

Well there were atleast blueprints/plans for those... meanwhile Venezia is actually completely made up f.e. Atleast they admitted that. Interestingly, if they made her up, not sure why she needed 15 guns to break balance :cap_haloween:

They were the Lidl QE class for a reason. They were slower, smaller, and deemed not worth investing in a rebuild like what happened to three of the QE's, and largely withdrawn from frontline service in WW2. I don't see how a ship that was inferior to the rebuilt QE's in almost every way would be easier to balance at T6 than it would be at T5. I'm not a fan of fictional upgrades ór downgrades, but I'm confident that considering their live span and smaller upgrades they got during their life (like their AA suite) some middle ground can be found.

How Royal Sovereign was treated by the Soviets was a disgrace, but maybe they can do something like they did with the Boise and Nueve de Julio? One of the ships in British service (with historical camo of course, examples from both world wars) for the history buffs, Archangelsk with fixed turrets for the people without taste?

I wonder what they'll do with Oklahoma. I do hope at least a plain grey paint job becomes a possibility, but not impressed stats wise.
