Thank you for re-enabling the operation after so long!:Smile_honoring:

It's been missed, and I sincerely hope it is here to stay!:Smile_playing:

I presume it's been neutered and the rewards are limited compared to what they used to be?

It seems to be back, and more importantly, working fine. No more transports merrily a-wandering around the map. Rewards seem perfectly fine for levelling.

Its great to have this operation back, yes you always get the teammates who when you ask who wants to get the transports they stay silent but suddenly you find 3 BBs all want to go commerce raiding, but i do enjoy this OP so much and so far appears to be working just fine.

Unless your teammates are deliberatley blocking the transports for shits and giggles as it seems. I guess some 12 year old keyboard warriors get their fair share of fun out of this.

Transports seem fine and but there seems to be the odd game where 3/4 of the team disappears off chasing enemy transports or the cv. So not totally fixed :Smile_trollface:

Maybe income of exp and credits was nerfed but still experience of facing players who didn't know what to do or chasing transports in 3 ships didn't changed :Smile_trollface:  or even was buffed. Of course any culture of cooperation didn't exist and transports stealing is pretty normal. At least my Błyskawica has new teenage years.

Spoiler

Two stars at least

Some bugs were removed by WG but they did not remove random stupidity by teammates..

My wtf moment this week: I had a Phoenix killing 3 teammates going for an ( unsuccessful) cv kill...

Ah yes, someone pings D10 to suggest someone go for the CV. Potato then camps D10 and eats torps.

My wtf moments was on the first day, DD went for the transports on already low health, dies; then our Nelson and a frigging Colorado went down there and still failed to destroy the lead transport. A lot of 2 star wins that day...

Also, it's been back for a while now for off-rotation divisions, but the economy is so dire unless you're carrying a random team it's not worth the time. GLHF.

How? team damage is disabled ... you can even torp your own teammates and they would never do any damage.

Sigh. .  Phoenix..tier IV US cruiser.. that guards the enemy cv that you have to kill for a star..you know the enemy bot....that thus killed 3 teammates in the tier 7 operation...

Oh that one, I thought you meant team member.

But yes, the CV guards can catch people off guard, especially DDs that think its just a DD escorting the CV even for me is the DDs in the harbor that I know they are there and I know what they are going to do but still get some torps into me at times.

Typically you see players just focus the CV before attempting to deal with the Phoenix and getting to close as well as showing full broadside to either get torps off or get all guns on the CV. Phoenix AP and torps are no joke when you get too close and ignore it. Also the Cv's own secondaries can do nice damage by setting fires. Again getting too close.

We need NEW operations. And tier VIII at that. Or tier V. Why not Tier IX even.

The first time, when narai was removed especially because it yielded huge rewards due to some AI bugs that appeared overnight due to the deliberate, intentional meddling of development, rewards were indeed reduced. In this current iteration, no further nerfs appear to be applied.

It's not just about boredom or excitement. It's about having a faster-than-coop alternative to get past T7, while avoiding all the issues that plague randoms. And about being able to (mostly) safely farm free exp at tier 7, although it still underperforms farming...oh, wait, I'm not going to say it, before AI bugs suddenly start appearing there too. :Smile_hiding::Smile_trollface:

As for extra ops: agreed. I do not understand why we can't have Cherry Blossom, for instance - even with old plane AI in there. Even though things have changed, it would be fun, and would cause no harm to have the op run as it did. Just nerf gains there too, and it suddenly wouldn't poke WG's eyes too badly.

I'm not going "thank WG" for bringing back an Op that they'd already ruined twice before (income nerf & Autopilot broken) and has still taken over a year of promises to "fix". At some point people need to realise that WG are like an abusive husband that players keep coming back to just because WG promises they've changed, only to be surprised when they get b:etc_swear:h-slapped once more by more WG nonsense.

Because that draws players out or PvP randoms, which WG devs said they consider to be  the main game mode .....at the very least splits the player base over "too many" game modes affecting MM balance and waiting queue's. When you look at the state of WT they may have a point.

What the effect is in randoms you can see when a perticular enjoyable/liked ranked is going on. You see WR stat padders even use that to temporarily buff their stats because most skilled players holding them in place play ranked temporarily. But that effect is temporary. Creating much liked Operations would draw players away from randoms permanent.

Because tier 10 is the designed end game, and because the most profitable premium ships are tier 9, and both of those need some tier 8 asss to kick.

As far as we can believe WG's official standpoint, operations never do, and never did draw anything near to enough players to have an effect on anything.

Armchair Admirals stream, 4 days ago:
This is due to "the unfortunate...let's call it the lack of general interest of the playerbase, like not enough people play them at the moment to make it worth the investment."

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/724249554?t=2h33m49s

Although this statement is hard for me to believe on multiple levels, I'll have to take MrConway's word as official. (if the forum is representative of anything, ops do indeed generate interest; the number of unknown names I see in ops also supports interest; I don't know what exactly counts as "investment" if not throwing out dynamo back in the day and suddenly everyone owns a Sims; etc)

Even though we're speaking slavic developers here, if random is indeed their preferred gamemode, then perhaps they should make it a bit less frustrating (3-man unicorn statpaddler teams, SealCVlubbers, completely uneven teams, etc) instead of shutting down more fun/less frustrating game modes - or making them irrelevant.

And the easiest t8's to get their a$$ kicked is those who do not even know CB exists! ...Or the unlucky 20+ techtree lines excluded from it. :D

Why not design a tier 10 operation then?

Tier 10 economy is designed to make you lose credits, to force you to buy premium camo or time. It will be a negative income operation.

I seem to recall someone mentioning a while ago that WG stated (yep, it's hearsay alright) that they just didn't know how to balance Ops of T8 or higher; take that with a pinch of salt obviously unless anyone knows where to find the original statement, but they do seem to like structuring Ops by including higher-tier 'boss' ships at critical points (the Misery Missouri in Narai being one example) which of course that wouldn't be doable in a top-tier Op. and based on what they're working on at the moment and their usual output (subs, new ships, PvP battle modes) it's possible they don't have the kind of developmental resources necessary to create new 'narrative' PvE content. They've certainly said Ops aren't a developmental priority at the moment...

Which equals more permaflages and premium time sold, win/win?
