Its nice that your Dockyard Event was widely better than the Puerto Rico Disaster.

I really Appreciate the Odin event even if I consider Odin .... well lets not go there now.

But thats not a Reason to call it a Day :)

I still think the Dockyard could be way more than just a Discount on a Premium Ship :)

There would still be the Option to use the old Building over Time System again. But not as a Event but rather as something Running over 6 Month Time. Of course Faster when using Premium Options.

But without the Intense Time Pressure.

Because Honestly said this is the Primary Mistake you made.

You Advertised Puerto Rico as something that most Players would get by Casually Playing but which they might get much faster if Playing alot and not at all if they Dont actually Play.

Instead it was Something Impossible to get unless Playing Absurd amounts of time.

Effectively if you gave out a Ship on the Same Conditions as Puerto Rico. But gave it a 6 Month Timer instead. That Event would be Perfectly Casual. As everyone would have enough Time to Leisurely Complete the Process. Only way of not getting the Ship being if they dont bother with it at all. And Playing alot not being the way to get the Ship but just get it faster than the others.

With the Casual Player Playing just 2-3 hours a week needing the Full 6 Months. Players playing 1 hour daily getting it in around 4 Months and the Diehards getting it in about 1 Month :P

Because you can take Bets. Whales gonna Whale. They wont wait 6 Months lol. And pretty sure alot of People will also Buy Premium Boosters to get it faster without a Hassle.

I for example would very likely at least Buy 1 Booster just so that I dont need to Worry about it.

Not that this is the only Option. There is many more Options aside from making it an impossible mess like Puerto Rico or Degrading the Dockyard to a mere Discount Ship every few months ;)

So dont just rest on your Laurels WG. Be creative and give us something to work with ;)

creative

That's the issue; they don't have creativity. I don't know of you noticed, but every single event for the past year has been the exact same; maybe with a few differences, but basically the same. Yes the dockyard was new, but the first one was a disaster and the second (and third) while better then the first one, not what the dockyard could have been, because as you said, it's basically a discount on a premium ship.

I think that they should make the dockyard something like the dockyard in Azur Lane (or whatever it's called, I don't remember). (Btw, AL also has better monetization than WoWS)

Looking at the PR requirements, specially the final 2 stages, would still make me very unhappy... I mean some individual tasks were akin to grinding the xp of full multiple silver lines.. With additional requirements on having certain lines researched up to high tier in the first place...Basically changing impossible missions into a 6 month grindfest might change the do ability in a positive way but not the pain. Not that a T10 should be free, but even then I would pay some part to limit the grind.

I liked the Odin event because the pacing was very friendly. You had 2 months and I finished the average stage in 2-3 days so getting up to stage 18 was easy if you had a bit  of lines researched. Getting the Graf Spee ( although having been a free boat before) was a nice bonus.

Most appreciated events for me are the low tier giveaways with very friendly grinds...loved the T6 random lootbox from some time ago. That easy to get Murmansk some time ago was great too. Maybe not the greatest ships but free and improving the chances to get a good boat next time...

If WG was offering a random T5 for some medium work count me in... Prefered the old WG with small but easy gifts instead of these high tier reward circus. Emden, vampire, Dreadnought, Varyag, Graf Spee, the ARP ships during the first event.( Although WG made me bleed for Nachi...)

I don’t want to be hyped up by an event every month. Odin was nice, this new Dockyard event is too soon.

Not Really. Dont forget you still have the Same Building Points Required and the same Ticking down of Building Points.

So effectively if you Spend 4 Months doing the First 3 Directives you would already be Guaranteed to get it at the end of 6 Months because at this Point your Points Ticking would be enough to reach the Goal.

Meaning everything beyond that would be Optional and only Speed up the Process.

If you bought the 3 Boosters which is basicly still a bit more than the Price of a Premium T8 Ship. You would likely not need to play at all to get the Ship after 2-3 Months.

Which would be Fair as you effectively just Bought it. And get the Intermediate Rewards as a small Bonus because you Choose to Buy something others can Play out for Free. (Albeit nobody will care. Whales gonna Whale anyways. I for my Part would still likely buy at least 1 Premium Booster just so I can Leisurely Play and have Fun without thinking about it)

I would suggest dockyard with other shiptypes such as DDs and even CVs as that would be quite cool, however the dockyard is a nice improvement and if there are no "get 20212021 fxp" missions then I think the grind should be fine for those who would want the ship.

Some good points there, I did enjoy the Odin Dockyard, Not Poor Little  Odin though, I've seen some downgrades wih Anchorage for me though with RB  infiltrating things, and the nerfing slithering forward,, I also loose any interest if RNG rears it's ugly head though that's when my wallet springs shut and I turn away.

Small Advice. As long as there is enough People buying their Product. Companies generally dont care about Customers telling them something they wont Buy something or anything etc. Because that just means your one of over 6 Billion People in the World which is not their Customer. And thus your Opinion stops being Relevant to them anyways.

So if you want to have Wargamings Attention. Tell them about something that you would Buy. Because thats Interesting Information for a Company :)

Especially if there is more People Showing an Interest in it and thus Signaling the Company that there is Money to be had there by Offering it.

Effectively. Dont tell them what you dont want. And rather tell them what you want. :P

Point Taken, You'd think I'd have picked that up at my age lol

Well, you got it at least half right. Don't buy what you don't want just because they aren't offering what you like. It does help, obviously, if you have fully figured out what it is you want.
