quickr Players 1,301 posts 19,591 battles Report post #1 Posted August 21, 2020 So WGs idea of summer sale is: we buy some tokens, then we gamble with containers? This is the stupidest "summer sale" I've ever seen. Is the average WOWS player really such a gambling addict? Why can't we get 50% off all ships, and just pick whichever ship we fancy getting? Surely it would spark more interest with players. Or am I just so out of loop what players these days really want. 59

My definition of a "sale" is that you can actually choose the item you are paying for. I want a paintjob for my Porsche. But I can only buy "a chance" to get a paintjob for an Audi, a VW, a Chrysler, a [insert other 20 brands] or... a Porsche. BS. 16
[JRM] Yedwy Players 7,050 posts Report post #7 Posted August 21, 2020 Doesnt matter how much off it is, its the principle, in my book sale means several articles in a store (or all of them) are offered at a discounted price compered to standard price, it does not involve a luck of any kind that goes past getting one before they are all gone...

However for me I do not consider this a sale.

[PUPSI] TeaAndTorps Players 801 posts 2,665 battles Report post #20 Posted August 21, 2020 Yeah that's nonsense. Sale to me means I pick what I want, and don't need any luck beyond it being in the sale. Was hoping to pick up Atlanta at a discount, but I guess I'll just gather whatever free tokens I can be bothered with and see what I can get by the end of it. Wallet very much shut.
[JRM] Yedwy Players 7,050 posts Report post #21 Posted August 21, 2020 As I said this aint a sale, tommorow is my joining anniversary, should I get a coupon I might buy something I would buy normally with said coupon and if it gives some extra stuff fine even if its just a toss for random loot but buying into gambling lootbox with tokens aint a sale, a free lottery ticket you get with say 50€ spent on petrol station is not called a sale ffs

A sale would not make as much money as this casino crap. I can't wait for the EU to institute loot box regulations and hit all the gatcha companies - of which WG is not the worst, I guess, but still bad - with a giant stick.
[CR33D] fumtu [CR33D] Players 2,981 posts 28,589 battles Report post #24 Posted August 21, 2020 Well you can buy two good T3 premiums that are no longer available in the shop. Together with 15 tokens you can collect, you will need to spend basically as much as per standard T3 premium so no discount at all. But as both Albert and Vampire are only available via Christmas boxes it is still nice offer. Everything else is just waste of money. I doubt we will ever see anything as those old 30% discount for T8 and 50% discount on anything bellow any more. So this is the best we can get now I guess.

I agree and I wish there were a rule that people need to declare their connection to WG. I often see "PSA" posts like "don't forget to buy Ship101, last chance with doubloons" and I wonder if people get... "incentives". I don't mind the posts themselves, but I do want transparency. 1
