In the past summer sales, you got a discount on a known item, a specific ship. Now you are supposed to buy an item, to then maybe get a discount on a second but mostly unknown item. Isn't it obvious what is off here?

 

Let me break it down with an easy example:

 

To get a T5-ship container (65 tokens), you need to purchase one daily token stock (50 tokens) and do the mission chain (15 tokens).

The token stock costs 8.24 €.

 

You then can get a random T5 ship, which is usually priced at 10 - 18€.

So they get a random discount between 18% and 55% for a random ship.

On top of that they have to do the mission chain. Not all casual players will be able to finish it. One of them requires 12 achievements. All of the missions must be done within 6 days.

 

So that random discount is depreciated by the randomness of the item you buy and the effort you put into the mission.

 

I assume you cannot get one of the Lima ships, like Marblehead Lima for a retail price of 7.50 €. If so, the buyer might even pay more in the summer "sale".

The whole point of this lottery is that it is irrelevant if anyone "feels lucky". It is an illusion to "feel lucky". It's the whole problem of gambling and why gambling laws exist. Wargaming can pull whatever tricks your legal department advised you to. It doesn't change a thing about that Wargaming takes advantage of people "feeling lucky" where there is just some RNG deciding what a person gets. That has exactly nothing whatsoever to do with "feeling lucky". It's just abusing some person's gambling problem, disguised in the friendly construct of a "sale". And these schemes are getting more and more. Now they are taking the place of a good old honest sale. You get what you pay for, simple as that.

What a sad existence I have ... I got the The Enterprise from Santa's Big Container when I finished the missions .... I was so sad coz I'm a member of the "DD ENTERPRISE MUST DIE" club. I was rly hoping for Georgia , Alaska or 90 days of premium :P

I finished every mission with Kita and only did 12 torp-fire  mission with Ostergot in one game with 18 torp hits .... rest I was hunting First Bloods with Kita and had some luck to get High caliber , Kraken and 2 Double kills .

Considering the "sale" ....good thing it was not around 1st of next month ....coz I would be tempted to gamble some cash to try and get Alaska B !

I bought the daily 10 and 50 tokens to have them exchanged for the 2018 Black Market containers (3 pcs) for approximately Euro 10,00.

 

Hallalujah: I got 1,250 doubloons (which can be bought for Euro 4.05 and 40 Shadow Lurker camouflages (for +/- Euro 6.00). What a deal :(

 

Last time I ever spent money on WarGam(bl)ing for that matter.

I think its against the law in the EU because you're not an authorized Hazzard Games Seller and because you cant incite minors into gambling...

When I'm reading all this it feels like Las Vegas Vacation :D

Can you imagine the alternate reality where WG released this sale actually selling rare ships and other crazy stuffs for limited amount of time and it was around 1st of the month ..... can you imagine the profit + love of community they have now :D

This event is sad and focused on earning money. You won't get player base happy by this kind od things. There is a lot of gambling, tokens are expensive or hard to get. They should be cheaper or we should get more tokens from missions. 1 container worth of tokens + gambling factor is a little joke in my opinion as a reward for great summer sale event.

Making something different from last year is ok but making it not reasonable is not ok. Tier 3 premium ships are for price of tier 5 ships... It would be more fun to make missions for these tier 3...

Also another thing is gambling and neccesity to buy containers promote building up addictions. I know that nobody forces anybody to buy but this is how it works.

I like this game very much, I've been playing since CBT and this kind od events make me sad and a little bit dissapointed. Especialy when hype is built before and we are earlier told that for grindable tokens we would be ale to buy some nice things...

How I envy Belgium rules! I'm hoping some day these to be implemented in ALL Europe, so this DISGUSTING gambling money stealing will stop,

It would be much easier for us gamers if WG categorized their missions like for example:

1) pure in-game mission

2) premium shop mission

3) mission for players (not gamers) who feel lucky

 

Currently its all very confusing. We waste a lot of time to find out there is a mission which is not actually doable i.e. without spending money or without gambling.

Money grab. I used to spend 40-50 euros every month on this game (double that on holidays). Even before I was disgusted with some of the business practices of this company, but since Roma/Littorio bs I've decided not to spend another euro on this game. Enough is enough.

nobody is forceing you to bay. it is good that we can get ships that we missed. I think there is at  least one ship among 5 available boxes

So, pls explain whats wrong with my math:

If we buy the daily bundlesm we get 60 tokens for €10,21. We add the 15 tokens from free missions and we can buy the Vampire.

We can buy a tier 3 dd in premium shop for €6,42.

So, the big summer event is to spend an extra €3,79 for a dd that isnt avaiable for purchase at the moment?

 

Same thing for the Konig Albert?

They are selling a couple of retired T3 ships, in Konig Albert case its roughly the price of Dreadnought since its also 75 tokens so its not a entirely bad deal in that case.

Hello there. As you know, gambling is a bad habit. We come here to play this game for free or by purchasing products for a certain fee. There is no problem in this. However, this box and luck thing does not fit. Wargaming is not a casino. The people who play this game are generally children and young people. I do not find it right for you to encourage them to engage in such bad habits such as gambling. Please give up these lucky box apps. Regards.

Spent £7 on 50 summer tokens (against my better judgement) in the hope I might get the CV perma camo. I don't usually buy containers. What a waste of time, opened up 4 summer camo boxes and all I got was a load "temp" camo's and no Halloween perma camo at all out 4 boxes. Shouldn't have bothered... not buy another again. Rip off not even getting 1 Halloween perma camo out 4 boxes with the number of them perma camo listed for dropping .

 

Ironically, I completed all the summer missions and had enough summer coins(15)  to get 1 free box and got the Charles Mantel perma camo from it (not wanted). Yet buy them and can't get 1 out 4 boxes.

Yeah same here, i won't spend nothing more on the game apart from my monthly premium account
