When you are playing CV.

Do you use winrate mod to show the best players on the red team and kill them first

No. I attack people by ship, circumstances and their actions. The latter often shows if they are a good player or not.

Mostly not.

It should make it harder, as you do not select the targets that are easy or a threat to your teams position.

the threats are mostly only those good players. You can usually take your time killing the rest. Killing high % players first usually always nets the win since the game makers are gone.

Kill the best players before they get in to good position and become a threat to my team was the idea.

A threat is not based on winrate, but on the position of the enemy at that point of the match. Even less skilled players can be a threat and good players be less of a threat just because of their position at that time of the match.

You will probably not sink them that early, otherwise they would not be good. But you can reduce the firepower of the enemy quicker by taking out overextended ships or finishing enemies low on health, before they have time to vanish/heal up.

It's a bad idea. Good players knows how to take advantage of their teammates position and will not be easy targets.

If you take 5 minutes to kill a good players, you'll have way less impact compared to deleting two or three potatoes that offers themselves during that same 5 minutes.

And as good as a player is, he can't win alone.

Pretty much why most hate carriers. It is the only class in this game where even despite a severe skillgap someone can still be super annoying and even make you lose a game.

When an enemy CV goes straight for me the entire match even though I'm not sailing by myself, I'm pretty sure he is using such a mod.

I do not use that whatever I am playing. Here is why:

I know people that use it, and then they already have a fitty when they see the ratings of their own team... :Smile_trollface:

Seriously, I do not know what it shows - and depending on what it shows, it can be total bullcrap, too.

If it shows general WR... take my own example... I have to regrind DONSKOI (and the first time already felt bad).

Now that I am... in the weekend.. guess what... however you do not want to meet me in some other ships.

I think that "app" will show <50% for me, but watch out... especially if I have some div mates...  :Smile_playing:

Yes, I use it. However I do not necessarily focus the best players. Target priority depends on the situation, not on who has the best stats.

I dont use it since I kinda know most gut players and I'm against mods, but  attacking the best players early can be useful since they usually initiate the plays and strategies. But having your mind on what is going on in game usually helps. Good players will try to suck you in a time wasting situation and unfortunately they come in divisions most of the time. If you are solo, it is advised pointing out the most dangerous division and advice the team to focus on them. Sometimes they listen. If you are against a good CV don't bother with him for the love of god, help the team.

"Kill them first" is a bit bold, but I do use a matchmaking monitor, and I do give special attention to DD's with good stats. Or if it's a super unicum Halland, then you know to stay away from it, since attacking would likely be too costly.

It's the most efficient thing you can do as a CV to help your team win. After CV's, good DD players have the highest impact in game. If you can negate them, then that's what you should do.

This likely isn't good for the game, obviously. I'm hoping that the proposed aerial detection changes go live and make DD's great again.

I use it more general to figure out which opponents would probably be ez to deal with or hard to kill but more importantly I use it to tell me which allies I can more or less trust to deal with which opponents (taking into account HP and their resp. ships), who might need some help to turn a situation in their favor, which group would need constant babysitting/support and who best to leave to their fate because they are at best a distraction to the enemy.

This doesn't only apply to CVs but due to their flexibility they can react most easily to that information.

@Puffin_

A smart and good player , is a dangerous player, even more when he tries to be inconspicuous.

Even potatoes can be dangerous for their inconsistency and randomness of their actions.

purple players are plain, consistent and predictable,  dangerous in 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 1 or 3 vs 1, for the most part, they have a target on their back and only can take it /do so much.

everything is dangerous out there.

And you find a way for yourself to be blind to whatever is happening in front of your eyes and open a door to underestimate your adversary.

Do a favour to yourself and treat every adversary you face like it was purple

This, takes too long to play selective targets unless its a finisher thing...
