Hey I was thinking of possibly getting a VII premium. My poor VII stats needs some help.. I seam to always find myself unable to influence tier IX battles, or unable to carry the low tier suicide teams.

Any advice regarding these?

●Indianapolis

●Boise

●Nueve de julio

●Atlanta

●[Other]

Cheers.

Well m8, if you want to reliably carry T9 MM in a T7 you better be an ace with a DD couse not much else will help, probs Haida...

Well, premium ships won't be an answer to your stats mate. If you can't manage to get good stats in tech tree ships, you will not necessarily get good stats in prems either. Premium ships are just similar to tech tree ships with some additional gimmicks in return losing some benefits. On the other hand, they will collect good amount of silver credits, xp, fxp and you can train captains in them.

Regarding the listed ships, below links may be helpful;

-Indianapolis: http://shipcomrade.com/?p=648

- Boise: http://shipcomrade.com/?p=758

- Nueve: http://shipcomrade.com/?p=765

- Atlanta: http://shipcomrade.com/?p=1072

Cheers,

I personally love the Boise/Nueve. Great HE-Damage, Hydro and a Heal on top! That's a way I like to play cruisers!

Atlanta is still funny but lost its meme-potential from the past.

And the Indianapolis is just a floating citadel handing out citadel hits to everyone.

The already mentioned Schamhorst is still a reliable ship, even in Tier9. So is the also mentioned Haida as well. But as already said a DD is the best option in general to carry in Tier9 for a lowtier.

Nachi is not to bad up tiered if you can put up with the funky guns.....

Nachi is one of Myoko clones? If so i serously doubt she has much carry potential in a T9 match no matter how good she is in farming fire damage...

Boise/Neuvo are very strong.

I'd rate them over Scharnhorst for normal randoms because, given the T9 MM, they are comparatively stronger as CAs in a typical team list than Scharn is as a BB.

Like @principat121 says you need a heal

Heal only makes you less gimped against a T9 cruiser since ALL of them have heals, but anyway the OP queation was about CARRYING in a T9 match and NO T7 cruiser is much good at that TBH, BBs either, DD is only choice for +2 carry in any kind of reliable fasgion and only if you know your DDs inside and out... I am not saying one cant top the board and even carry occasionally in a Myoko or Sharn or whatnot but reliably? Cmon...

Indy - pays through the nose for radar, was left out from the bow armor improvement other USN CAs got, slow reload, weak AA. Garbage.

Boise - short range, long reload time, super heal is useless when uptiered as you will be derped to oblivion.

Nueve de Concentration Camp - same as Boise, plus you get a disgusting ship history and a need for a specialized captain as there is no PanAm CL line.

Atlanta - you're joking, right? This ship has been gang banged by WG without lube through global nerfs. The AA is a joke, you have no range, you have no fire starting potential. This ship is an example of WG's balancing incompetence.

Don't buy T7 premiums.

From cruisers you'd been better with Fiji then any premium from the store.

BBs are overmatched  easily by t9 BBs and burnt by rest.

As the others said only DD with a very good concealment and only if you are very good/unicum DD player is the only way to carry from time to time in a t9 environment.

Premiums are not much better then silver ships if better at all.

T7 is the worst tier MM wise currently so I'd be very cautious if I was in a position to part with my money at this tier. Very very cautious.

Well I wouldnt really expect to carry that much vs IX, its more like being able to carrying the standard 5 suiciding ships in V-VII matchmaking..

I love to play with/against IX when I am VII. Because that means I am an underdog, which can be underestimated. Plus, with IX there is higher chance of some slight teamwork miracle happening from the team.

Does any one really give a s h i t about T7 or the tubs in it???

image.png.0c7569a944a2cc2577020b7ba43cdce9.png Is this a subtle sales department post to drum up interest in the poorly selling tubs? :cap_hmm:

Can only think of the Shinyhorse, you have enough impact to clap cruisers, resistant to all HE spammers and can yolo anything.

I run secondary/tank hybrid build on mine.

Well I already own that one, so it would spare me another money grab I guess...

Papercanon only plus is Radar...not worth it

●Boise

●Nueve de julio

Decent damgedealers if you can stay alive or get into cover

●Atlanta

If you play in div you can pull of some good things otherwise island huger that requires a faily skilled captain & player

●[Other]

Cheers.

Overall you mainprob with T7 is you lack range and in most T9 fights enemy tends to backbaddle if a singe 127mm shell scratch their paint. Yudachi might be a pick if you dont rush into caps and torp from standoff distance but your team wont like you and results are also iffy since her torps are too visible.

Problem is without the T8 mod slot any T7 that dont cheat has a bad time agist T9.

If you want to influence battles probably DDs are your best choice at T7, e.g. Haida, Z-39 or Leningrad.

Be aware though, that both Z-39 (no BFT) and Leningrad (EM) need a quite specialised captain and Haida is Commonwealth, so don't expect to train many captains on the ship.

Well T7 dd suffer against higher tier dd from not having access to the concealment module( exeption the German dd that has the module at T7) ...

So to carry a game in a T7 ( premium or not) requires both ( next to your brilliant mastermind) atleast a semi competent team  on your side and absolute potatoes on the red site.  Or some extreme sacrifice on the altar of RNGesus. Not that there are no solid T7 premiums but they are not geared to smash T9’s..If they would they would have been OP...

First, the requisite warning: T7 premiums won't help your stats on their own; if your primary aim is to improve your stats, you'll be able to do that just as effectively with a well-chosen T7 silver ship.

That out of the way, there are some decent T7 premiums, although do be mindful that this is the point where the Concealment Module have/have not thing starts to really bite. Some thoughts:

  • Indianapolis: very hard to play well; your impact is all about the radar (which is great for T7 - 10 km for 25 secs, with no coal mod), but you'll get citadeled by BBs breaking wind on the adjacent map.
  • Boise/NdJ: nice heal, although you lose some dakka to get it (compared to Helena); I find the ship most use for Narai, but then I'm not really a cruiser fiend. The NdJ incarnation is a much less useful buy as a) you can't captain train with her, and b) you have to spend elite xp to get a 'good enough' captain if you want to go straight to randoms.
  • Atlanta: fun, but probably not worth it given the ship's current state; the old 'majestic AA' version of Atlanta (pre-reework) was hilarious/glorious, but now it's really all kinds of meh (IMO); better to wait for Flint to return for coal. Boise is a much better buy at the moment.
  • Z-39: one of the best T7 DDs - IMO - as she's kind of a tubby T-61 a tier higher. Gets the 150 mm guns, so BFT isn't as much use as on most other DDs (thinking captain skill crossover with the silver line); you do get a concealment module though which is rare for the tier, and smoke/hydro never gets old (5 km ship detection and 2 min run time with the coal mod). T-61 is better tier-for-tier, but I do feel that Z-39 is still excellent.
  • Haida: really very good; one of my favourite premiums. Great dakka, okay torps (only one launcher though), creeping smoke and defensive hydro (ludicrous 216 sec run time, with coal mod!); you even get to intimidate your foes with Mighty Secondaries! The only real down-side to Haida is that (like NdJ) there is no silver line to nab a decent captain from and you need at least ten points, if not 13-15 (to add BFT/AR on top of the 'standard' DD ten points), to get the most from her.
  • Scharn is excellent, if you fancy something a bit more tubby, but she does suffer against BBs (especially higher tiers) with her dinky guns; she can make cruisers really regret their life choices though. For me, she's most fun in Narai, where you can make a lot of use of your torps/secondaries with a clear conscience!
