How to get the snowflake bonus in 0.9.8

Guys, I’d like to know how to get the snowflake bonus in 0.9.8:

Do we have to unlock the tier V-X ships before the update ?

Or anytime we unlock a tier V-X ship during update 0.9.8 can we get the bonus after the first win?

 

PS: only tier X ship can get the super container? Or maybe IX as well?

Yes in the Dev Blog, just read it but very light on details.

To answer your question, don't know. The Dev Blog is light on details. 

 

BUT if this is the same as previous, any ship of the correct tiers in port at the beginning of the event plus any ship that you aquire during the event will qualify. But any ship sold after obtaining the bonus won't be eligible for the bonus if rebought. (Tried it last time.)

And yes, the announcement is very light on the details. It is always a good idea to ask people about the specifics who do not know them themselves..

Off topic but I'll leave it here in case someone reads it: is it possible to change the "win a battle" requirement with "play a game"? 

I have a lot of ships and these events turn into hours and hours of bot farming in coop. I would preffer to take the ships in randoms, even it it takes more time to get thw bonuses, but at least I get to enjoy the play - bot farming gets very boring after the first 10 games.

Since they are trying to organize a nice event, it would be better if people had a choice of how to go it and it would not feel like a chore. (I know you have a choice now, but the win requirement and the fact I'm not that good means I need to do this in coop, and that gets boring...)

All the way at the bottom. Don't look for the word "snoflakes" as that's not there. That's just the community name for this phenomenon as the first iteration of the mechanic had us 'knock off snowflakes of our ships'.

It's still WIP, details, as usual, will be announced in patchnotes. Pro tip: accumulate as many T7-8-9-10 ships in your port as you can, they give the best bonuses on anniversary ( SCs, dragon flags...).

But at this point in time there is no answer to OP's question. All we have is past experience, but if he knew those he wouldn't have to ask his question. So I think that's why people provided that link.

I mean...it's the quickest way. And SCs are a very good motivation for me. Though I suppose you're right, play a battle would be better

Tbh I will probably play fandoms for the first half of the update and then 'mop up' any that I've not managed to win with in co-op. But 'play a game' would be vastly preferable @Crysantos @MrConway

One would hope so, but I would sound a note of caution: the first snowflake event was pretty generous, whereas the rewards were somewhat reduced the next time around.

 

It's probably worth us trying to keep our expectations moderate, so whatever (inevitable?) way that WG find to disappoint us isn't too gloom-inducing...

We had ample opportunity to witness the WG marketing dept policies, also their manager is getting prizes for best fleecing and milking blokes, its pretty clear what we can expect...

Yes first one was generous on both steel and coal and gave some nice extra bonuses on premium ships ( like a premium ship got the bonusreward of a tier higher silver one)  and premium ships below T5 were not forgotten.  Then resources were nerfed a bit ( less coal, less steel) then nerfed even more into sc for T10 and higher tiers a special container ( with not the greatest content) and then camo for the lower tiers...

 

Probably grinding snowflakes is worthwhile from T8 onwards..

Its prob not worthwhile to plan for them at all, the prizes get less each year...

To answer he OP's question, yes you will be able to get snowflakes on ships gained during the event.
