Gathering all available recources leads to nothing useful ?

Is this new ? Usually i could get a low tier ship or the lower camo's for recourses i gathered completing the available missions.

 

Now i have gathered all ( 15 tokens to go ) that i could get that are not locked behind a pay wall.....and i can get.....nothing usefull ! Since i got only 1 ship out of a free box i can't complete the misisons of the others.

 

Now WG regularly gets my money ( dockyard recently ) but completing all that i can complete and being stuck on 435 ( 450 max ) i think this is rather unenjoyable ?

You're supposed to buy the 7.5k doubloons missions or pay for premium German Containers and hope you get lucky. Why you would ever prefer spending 7.5k doubloons and effort for something worth 5k doubloons I will never know, but just trade the tokens for some signals or credits.

I think it was Euro DDs where you could get doubloons and premium time for the tokens; then in the SovCruisers event it was obvious that too many people bought the doubloons last time round so we could only get the premium time (although in both cases you were guaranteed at least one actual ship if you got all the free tokens available). It seems WG decided to narrow the field even more for this one, as a consequence there's not really anything good to buy (even the flag selection seem pretty arbitrary). If you just hold on to the tokens until they expire, at least you'll get 9,000 credits for each (which I think is also down on what we got last time, clearly WG's tokens are depreciating at the same rate as the rest of the economy!)...

You're supposed to spend money.

WG is tossing you a bone, and you better be grateful for that. If you want some meat tho, you better be ready to spend some coin.

 

I remember the olden times where you had to grind like crazy to get stuff.

WG however made the transition to grinding like crazy and STILL being forced to fork out money. 

 

The only way to aquire enough tokens for the perma camo, is to spend money for crates that contain TECH TREE ships.

 

WG put a lot of effort into this money grabbing scheme.

And while it is a horrible and despicable way to monetize the game, it's not the worst part.

 

The worst part is, WG actually in all seriousness acting like they doing the players a favour.

 

This is despicable and admirable at the same time.

Yeah, it's a bit meh but I figured I'd grab some November Foxtrot. If not they convert to credits. It's the goodies from the boxes that are most useful imo.

the spreadsheet says you are fine with that and soon also colonelpete (or whatever the fck his name is) appears claiming same and that wg/lesta need make money in some way ...

Basically everything what @Jethro_Grey said. He gets it. It's a F2P game and WG is well versed in milking it's players for money. It's up to every player to realize they are being squeezed for money and get to the point they can resist the temptation. Only pay when they see fit to support the company.

Yes, signals are useful! I don't have that many - or camos. I did prefer the premium time option, but I can't fault WG for wanting to make money. I can't fault them, but I also won't support their practices, not with one cent.

 

So, I take what is offered and am grateful. With Soviet cruisers I got quite a few premium days (and passed on the Lolkoyan), with german carriers it has to be camos. So be it.

This is really poor design. In many games like Heroes of Storm you could in theory get everything only playing game but that would probably take like 100 years. Anyway I would be good for everyone if we could get everything from game by playing that way we also would drop some money to game while playing it. Now there are just these paywalls and it discourages me to play game. It shatters my goals in game and goals are important so I keep playing game.

I dont understand, why I can't buy some of those tokens at the end of event . I have GZ and got 2 CV from crates and I ended with 510 tokens. I can collect additional 15, but what for ?

 

So after such grind, I need to gamble for third CV or buy a mission with 600 tokens to have a single camo ? But I am short only of 75 tokens and I don't need another free CV or 600 tokens. Those tokens should be avaiable at rate ex. 1 tokens - 10 doublons.

If like me you are solely F2P, you have to learn patience and embrace the fact that without paying cash, things take longer to achieve, some things cannot be achieved and some things that you do achieve are not as satisfying as you had hoped they would be.  But you can never have to complain about being ripped off if, like me, you never pay a red cent for anything!  I'm currently patiently waiting for a free doubloon issue that will get me the 40 pieces of gold that will complete the price for a perma-cammo for my New Mexico.  A couple more months I reckon.  Patience is a virtue!

The issue is not that it wasn't expalined at the start, they did that.

The issue is - for me at least - that this is actually a thing and the fact that WG is pretending that this kind of money grabbing scheme is fine.

Because, buying tokens to finish your collection = $

 

Gambling on crates that might have what you want = $$$$$$$$$$$

Exactly. I do exactly the same. Progressing my silver lines takes a long time. I just got my fifth tier X and I think I play three years now. I have one 19-point captain. I have few premiums. I did not get Puerto Rico, or Odin. Thing is, I don't care. I got the Montana camo with free doubloons and I'm gathering more for another. Maybe Des Moines. Or Hakuryu. Half a year and I'm there.

Let me ask you this: if WG said, we unlock everything. Premium time, premium ships. You can get them just by playing, no paywalls at all. But, we ask for a 15-dollar a month subscription (120 for a year). Would you do it?

This is the main fault with this event. For the main prize, a free T10 per camo, you need to grind ( ok) and need both luck ( have 3 cv missions drop from crates, and either have or willing to buy the Graf Zeppelin (B).  Otherwise spending 7500D to win a free camo that stat wise is purchasable for 5k is also..special..

 

So either reset your goal or be disappointed if you want to win this round without paying..better don’t play..

 

Or you hope to get as much out of this event like CV’s with perm camo which requires grinding, rng drops an then more grinding for the actual cv and then a bit more for the permanent camo...

I have spent at least 1500 USD in 3 first years of playing and still I have not all the ships. 120 USD for a year would be very low price for a WG standard.
