xp lost? once ship sold?

Hi I have to say everyone has been so helpful. Recently discovered u can convert xp to free xp or vice versa etc looks like a ripp off. Anyway when i sell a ship should i convert the xp the ship has built up first before i sell or does the xp automatically be accommodated?

 

Any all expert advice is greatly appreciated.

Selling a ship does not remove the XP from it. You can sell a ship and if you buy it again, the XP is still on it.

Only when resetting a line by using the research bureau the ship xp is moved from that ship to the T1 ship of the line.

• you should never convert XP, unless extremly desperate
• the XP stay on the ship, even when sold
