There is currently no time limit on completing this collection via daily containers.

We've already seen this reported and have passed it on to devs - we'll make sure to change

The name "Littorio" should not be used, since it is a fascist symbol, like swastika was a nazist symbol. The Italian battleship Littorio had her name changed in "Italia" after 25 July 1943, when Mussolini was arrested.

You could use "Vittorio Veneto" which was of the same class. I hope that "Vittorio Veneto" will be used for the future tech tree Tier VIII Italian BB.

Littorio is the name of the ship in AL, thus WG used her name too.

Put "Littorio" on her stern and add an alternative historical camo and all Italians will buy it (just a suggestion).  ;)

Quote

The image has survived in the modern world as a representation of magisterial or collective power, law and governance. The fasces frequently occurs as a charge in heraldry: it is present on the reverse of the US Mercury dime coin and behind the podium in the United States House of Representatives

The US uses a lot of eagle iconography too ;)

That is also a very common element in heraldry.

This is why the absurdity of the "I am offended by this, never mind the history behind it", in fact fasces are part of the badge of the Spanish Civil Guard, Romanian Police coat of arms, in the United States National Guard Bureau, in the Seal of the United States Senate and on the Emancipation Memorial. Its a old symbol even if it doesnt matter as the ship class is named after the lead ship and the class name is Littorio, there is nothing inherit wrong with it.

Yes, but part of the history of the fasces and the lictor were their use as symbols by Fascists (who are literally named for them). Having an existence outside that doesn't mean one should ignore that aspect of their past, to do so would be selective at best and blinkered at worst. It should be pointed out that the ship was renamed by the Italians after the fall of the Fascist government when they'd decided to change sides in the war, so it shouldn't be any surprise that they wanted to distance themselves at the time from what was perceived (legitimately) as Fascist iconography. The fact that other people have used it before and/or since doesn't diminish that.

There are no limits to the number of a specific AL captain so if you have Nelson you can get her again.

now why would i need a dozen copies of a Captain whos only merit is a voice over ? they didnt even bother giving them anything that Yostar didn't provide for them.

They're still 10-pointers, if that's of use to you. Other than that, they give you a free extra commander slot if your reserve is already full when you get them... ;)

this is wrong on so many levels ..... the swastika, or sun wheel, has  existed for more then 7ooo years in virtually every known civilisation. Guaranteed to be similar for littorio. Hating on it because a questionable political group used it as their symbol for a decade or two is a heavily narrow mindset.

Besides, like it or not that was the historically correct name of the ship.

Wargaming has been selling tons of 10point captains over the past 1-2 years (and usually cheaper then this) and getting a 10point captain isnt that hard either. So it still remains that this is at best useful for new players or those who couldn't be arsed playing for a long time.

And the "free" (it aint free because you have to pay a ridiculous price to get the commander + slot) slot means nothing because the captain automatically fills it.....
