Its the SC model of jpeg selling, I mean all they spend money from is the rights to the voice clips and artwork, those commanders dont even have enhanced skills ... they are standard 10 points commanders.

 

Shipwise, Bunny_Lover_Kallen gone over the stats but I am going over the models and since there are only two new ships AL Littorio is just Roma model with a different texture and you notice it because it have Roma crest in the bow, even HSF Yamato changed the Chrysanthemum to something else ... let me say it again, there is more effort on HSF Yamato camo that you get for free (well if you complete HSF collection) that on AL Littorio camo because its Roma just different textures. And AL Sov. Rossiya is about the same, no difference in the model were they didnt even bothered removing the red star and the Soviet Crest from the model, BTW I checked and the ship girl bear crest is in black, not red.

Serious, even if identical at least HSF Graf Spee camo not only had differences modewise but you also got the Type 10 camo if you wanted for the ship to look like the historical (well as historical as WOWS got) ship, free of charge and I bet NONE of the AL ships come with a Type 10 camo.

I love how AL's collab on their side is just a guaranteed grind that also boosts WoWs sales *cough*Cheshire*cough* while WoWs's side of the collab is just a cash grab.

Perma camos for lots of ships like...BELFAST! What do i do with that camo if i DONT have Belfast? spend another 200-1000$ on christmas crates in half a year and HOPE i get the ship?

about that @TheWarJaC @MrConway @Crysantos If you don't mount the AL camo on AL Littorio, it still shows the Roma name plate; as it's just a copy and paste of the Roma. I don't have it; someone of Flamu's discord posted it. So... would you mind changing it to Littorio, please?

Azur Lane designs completely new ships, new skills (all with historical references), new persona for the shipgirls, records new voicelines for the ships .... and hands it out for free, unlockable by playing without any time limits

 

 

Wargaming / World of Warships just blatantly copies the Azur Lane characters, copies Azur Lane voice lines, copy and pastes already existing ships and sells it for massively bloated prices for only a limited time

 

never has it been more blatantly obvious that wargaming is just a greedy, uncreative and lazy bunch who completely lost touch with reality, their product and their customer base

You can as long as you have twitch prime, there's a loot mission going now that nets you one of the new crates if you farm 4k base XP. 

 

Got lucky, mine had Littorio (the character I wanted /needed the most). 

 

So no Money for WG for sure, the rest isn't worth gambling on for 8€/crate. Did that with second wave, won't do that ever again.

Will The creators of Azur Lane (Manjuu etc.) get a Share Of your profits While being in collaboration? If yes... I would consider buying it. Since they are doing a way better job as Wargaming at the moment.

now the issue is you already got Nelson at least once during the last Collab(s) and it's the same for Azuma.

So collection and  mission chain are only relevant for ppl who started between the collabs or did the smart choice of not bothering with world of warships for a long time...

 

For ppl who have played this game for a long enough time, you basically get nothing for free.

Apart from that you have to pay insane amounts of money for gambling boxes with a high chance of giving you duplicates of the past collabs or an even more insane amount of money to get cheap copy and pastes of ships that have existed in the game for at least a year... (Montpelier is even a copy of Cleveland, a ship that existed since the beginning).

There are no limits to the number of a specific AL captain so if you have Nelson you can get her again.

AL staff probably considers PR ships to be "long term" investment - after all, players who took their sweet time to grind them are more likely to purchase skins/rings for them. Also additional dock expansions to not be bothered with "dock full" too often.

 

And for WG part - most lines are custom recorded and not yoinked from AL game, so something, probably, goes to the voice actresses.

On a different note: Why isn't this combined with the dockyard event? AL Odin (from the AL side of this collab) has quite a nice design and AL also has Graf Spee. Having those events combined or one announced after the other would have been a great incentive to pay a reasonable price for either one.

Collaborations are marketing devices were the purpose is getting your product in the eyes of people that would not be aware of it, they tend to be mutual beneficial as warship players might start playing AL and AL players might start playing warship.

 

The reason for WG to create AL ships is that AL players go to Warships and get their waifus, the problem is when WG decides that players from AL have to spend a lot of money and basically treats AL as a product they got the rights to and are selling it to Warship players, this means the AL players look at the price tags and leave, this is a problem with Warship marketing department who clearly have no idea what they are doing, their idea of getting new players is the whole "recruitment" pyramid scheme that is clearly not working considering how increasing they been pushing it.

 

AL on the other hand tries to get people in with their collaboration side of things because, not because of "the grind" and "investment" since this aint the Gulag, people dont have to play the game and taking players as assured its hubris, their colab is going to be easy because its always best to get new players eased in so they remain with the game for a longer time, not shove their faces with €160 bundles because all that achieve is scare then away, in fact if WG marketing was smart (and it aint) they would actually sell those under "normal" price since that is a better way to get people to buy stuff they otherwise would not, for new players a "cheaper Roma" is going to look better that "Roma with a 10 points commander" at a higher cost.

 

On a personal note.

 

I would had brought AL Littorio if it was Imperio (and I am not sure what come about Imperio, BTW good job of bait-and-switch your CCs that I am sure dont mind that at all) or if it was with Roma pricing, since all I am paying for is a Roma with different textures and a normal 10 points commander I might as well just get Roma, WG doesnt understand why collaborations work and since they go down to selling a product, if I am buying a can of soup then I will buy the cheaper one when the only difference of the two is the colors of the label.

does the combat missions refresh with a new captain or is it just one combat missions im new to this event all ive done is the previous anime related event and that one had multiple rewords

We've already seen this reported and have passed it on to devs - we'll make sure to change that!

Forgive me if if missed something, but to get a different camo for my Belfast and Atago - ships I've paid for in the past - will cost me over £70?

 

WG, you redefine daylight robbery on a daily basis.

 

EDIT - Apparently, it's only 7k Dubloons for this.
